Dream Valley Challenges #270 Add Embellishments

Image
Good morning! Welcome to a new Challenge at Dream Valley. Our theme this time is add Embellishments so dig out your favourite embellies and have fun!   Our sponsor is Crafty Sentiments Designs and I have used the adorable Couples digi stamp for an anniversary card. The patterned paper came from my Snippets drawer. I coloured the bears with Copics and the sentiment came from an old Hero Arts stamp set. I used several embellishments: Peel-offs from Love from Lizi; some heart confetti from an old bag of sequins by Little Things by Lucy ; and some twine from my stash.   Check out the blog for more inspiration!   Thanks for looking and take care!   love Mags B x

My Time to Craft Christmas! #2 Penguins

Image
Hiya! Well, it's been an exciting but rather sad day today! When we moved here in 1986 there was a beautiful dwarf weeping copper beech outside our door. It was always so interesting to see it put out delicate pink leaves in the Spring and watch as the summer sun turned them a deep copper red. Then in the autumn they faded to red-orange and finally fell to leave the elegant bare branches.  Sadly, last year the tree died. The branches went dry and brittle and the leaves were very sparse. We finally bit the bullet and had it removed. Today the plot where it stood has been covered with grass. It looks very neat, but it isn't the same.  At least there are still 3 lovely silver birches at the end of our cul-de-sac, which are just beginning to put out their first leaf-shoots. Spring is on its way!  In the meantime we have the second of our Challenges at My Time to Craft Christmas! and our new theme is Penguins. I have used items from last December's Love from L...

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #18 Anything Christmas Goes!

Image
Hi! Here at last is my post for The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge I apologise for the delay. Suddenly Christmas seems much closer, so I am trying to make at least two of every Christmas card now! This time I made two Shaker cards. For this one I used a Spellbinders 2010 Heirloom Ornaments die to cut the window. I cut it again from gold cardstock and then, without removing the die, traced around the edge and cut it out to make the frame. The sequin mix is from Little Things by Lucy and the paper is from stash. The sentiment is cut in the same gold card with a Simon Says Stamp die. This is made in the same way but with circle dies for the window and frame, and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp's Deco Christmas Tree die. Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

Sequins and Buttons

Image
Good morning! Last Saturday I made a shaker card for the current Challenge at My Time to Craft which is to use sequins, buttons or both. While I had my sequins and the button tin out, I thought I'd make another card, using Bubble Bloom Felicity by Woodware. I've had this stamp a while but never used it - it is Never-before-used-Schtuff or NBUS for short. The inspiring Darnell coined the phrase and acronym. If you haven't discovered her blog do go and see, her creations are lovely and she is so funny! Anyway, here is my card: Very CAS! The buttons are from my late Mother-in-Law's button tin, they have a pretty pearly sheen. The sequins are from Little Things by Lucy from her Tutu Sparkly Shaker Collection. So pretty! The leaves are coloured with Copics. I hope you all have a great weekend! I have scheduled this, as tomorrow Ye Olde Manne and I are going to a wedding! A rare excuse to wear my Posh Frock!!!
