CRAFT Challenge #414 3D Decoupage

Image
Hi, guys! We have a Technique Challenge at CRAFT Challenge this week: 3D Decoupage. The cute Cat image is from Kenny K. I printed 4 images, all the same size, to cut my layers from, and coloured then with Warm Grey Copic markers. The striped paper is very old, I think it was from Papermania, but the pad has lost its cover. The ribbon and sequins are from stash. The gold-embossed sentiment and black pawprints are from the Nine Lives set by Paper Smooches. Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Kenny K Have a look at my talented teamies' 3D creations, they will inspire you to have a go! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

The Squirrel and the Fox DT #74 Inspired by a Song or Movie

Image
Good morning! I hope you're all having a lovely weekend! Today I have a morning at Church doing my Deputy Church Warden stick - oo, that sounds exciting doesn't it? (Or not!) Mostly it's switching lights on or off, and unlocking or locking doors! it's a tough job but someone has to do it lol! Enough of this blether, you're here for the next Challenge from The Squirrel and the Fox and this time it's another theme you'll love: Inspired by a Song or Movie Our wonderful sponsor is Kenny K who is offering a great prize of 5 free digis!!!!! The DT was very lucky to be able to use some of Kenny K's fab images for this Challenge. I chose the 1920s Socialite - isn't she glamorous?! In keeping with the image, I went for an Art Deco look. I can't remember what the papers are, they were loose in my collection, sorry! I cut the striped and looped papers at an angle so I could make the chevron effect and the corner pieces. Both are mounted on gold ...

Dream Valley Challenges #82 Things With Wings

Image
Good afternoon! I hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend. We have sunshine in S-E Hertfordshire, what a difference it makes, everyone seems so cheerful when the sun shines! Unfortunately I have been fighting off a cold this past few days and it's now Cold - 1, Maggie - 0! I am mainlining Beecham's powders, they taste vile!! Enough medical talk! There's another lovely challenge at Dream Valley and it's Things With Wings - very suitable, I think, with the birds flying about building nests. Our fabulous sponsor is Kenny K and the prize is 3 digis! I used Devilish Donna for my card, which is made for a Goth chick of my acquaintance! I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs, glittered her wings, and then cut her out. The card base is made with purple centura pearl, embossed with a big Spellbinders M-bossibilities folder. I stamped a polka dot border with an MFT stamp called Large Scale Backgrounds - I tried to do an ombre effect. The sentiment on the banner i...

The Squirrel and the Fox DT Challenge #68 Use a Die or punch

Image
Good morning, all! Happy Easter! It's time for another challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox ! We'd like you to dig out your Dies and/or Punches . Our sponsor is the amazing Kenny K . A lucky winner will be able to choose 5 digis - what a great prize! So get punching and die-cutting and enter the Challenge - you gotta be in it to win it!! This fabulous image by Kenny K is 'Supermom' and I made the card for a very special friend who is definitely a Supermom! I used Spectrum Noirs to colour her - I've been practising with my Speccies, following the video tutorials on the Spectrum Noir website, which is a very useful resource. All the papers are from my 'free with magazines' stash. I used 1 Spellbinders label die; 1 Martha Stewart border punch; 2 Retro flower punches (E K Success and Tonic); and 1 Woodware punch for the leaves. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley. The gems are from Hobbycraft. Go and see how creative my teamies have been with ...

The Squirrel and the Fox Challenge #52 It's Raining Men!

Image
Good morning, all! I hope you're enjoying the weekend! It's officially Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, my favourite time of the year. I love the colours on the trees as the leaves turn! Though I'm not so keen on the fog and rain! However, this fortnight's challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox concerns rain that I think I'd enjoy - It's Raining Men! Can I hear a 'Hallelujah!'????? (If you have a moment, hop over to Youtube and see It's Raining 300 Men which has shots from the film '300' and the soundtrack of the song. Guaranteed to make you laugh!) The image on my card makes me smile, too, it's Buggin' Drummer by Kenny K. Yes, our sponsor is Kenny K and a lucky winner will be able to choose FIVE digis as their prize! Isn't he having a great time?! I used Promarkers to colour the image (and lost the list :( - sorry!) The background papers are from the Rock Star stack by DCWV, I love the clashing colours and the foi...

The Squirrel and the Fox #37

Image
I'm having another go at scheduling - wish me luck, I'm going in! Good morning, all! It's time for another challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox and this time we have a theme of Love Our sponsor is the talented Kenny K . One lucky winner will be able to choose 5 digis from the shop! Now, I must confess that I'm not a massive fan of his very sexy images, they just don't appeal to me, but the others are really fun! The DT were fortunate to have some images to use - this one is his Happy Couple digi stamp, isn't it great? I have a wedding coming up next month, and I know the 'happy couple' will love this! I used Speccies (I can't find my list of colours, I may have chucked it when I was tidying!) I used Cotton Candy stickles on the bouquet and the bride's tiara and the trim on her dress and veil. I cut around the bouquet before using a Nesties circle di to cut out the image, I like the effect it gives! She is just about to throw her b...

Rock on, Baby!

Image
Now, this is really out of my comfort zone! The pink, black and glitter papers are DCWV 'All Dressed Up' stack, and the glittered chipboard is from the matching set of chipboards, all a bit OTT! I've distressed all the edges with my scissors, rather than mat everything, because the papers are quite heavy. There are few things more embarrassing than propping a card open and then seeing it topple forward because of the weight! The gem brads in the corner are Do crafts, and the pink stars are Paperchase. I stamped Kenny K's Rock Chick with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Promarkers, and I covered her guitar with Glossy Accents. The sketch is from Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog and they also want a card for a teenager. I know precisely who I'll be giving this to, a 13-year-old Goth girl whose favourite colours are pink and black! There's a DT call at the challenge blog, too. Thanks for looking! luv, Mags x Promarkers: Dusky Pink, Blush, Pastel Pink, Cinna...
