Dream Valley Challenge #144 Winter Birthday

Image
Good morning, my lovelies! I hope you have a good week ahead of you! The new Winter Birthday Challenge at Dream Valley is very appropriate for me as there are 3 important family birthdays for me between December and January! I used wintry shades of blue and white, plus two snowflake papers for the background. The image of the airship is from Grand Tour I by Indigo Blu and I stamped it in pigment ink and clear embossed it. The oval mats are cut with a Stitched Ovals Die by My Favorite Things. The brads are from my stash and the sentiment is from an older Clearly Besotted set. Do go and see what lovely creations the team has made, and say hello to Gina, our new DT member! Thanks for looking, and have a great dy! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #284 'Silhouette'

Image
Good afternoon, all! I hope your Saturday is going well! I have spent the day helping to do lunch for 12 couples attending a 'Marriage Preparation' course at my Church. My friend Hilary brought along baking potatoes, chilli con carne, two trifles and some cupcakes! She is an amazing cook! I brought along a teatowel.... It was really enjoyable, a great chance to catch up and have a good natter! Now I'm home with my feet up and a cuppa made by my lovely hubby. So that's why I haven't yet blogged the new Challenge at My Time to Craft which this week is to have a Silhouette as your image. I have a set of silhouette stamps from Indigo Blu and I set them out on my Fiskar's Stamp Press to make the scene and sentiment I wanted, then stamped in Versafine Black Onyx Ink. First I stamped on some old pink patterned paper and added pink flower sequins: Then I stamped on lilac patterned paper and added black flower sequins: Both dragonflies have Wink of Stella ...

Gold thank you

Evening, all! I'm just popping by to show one of a whole series of thank you cards I made this month. They have all reached their destinations, so it's time I blogged the design. I stamped a butterfly by Indigo Blu and a sentiment from the Penny Black 'Gratitude' stamp set on a square of card with Tsukineko Delicata Gold ink, and rounded the corners. Then I brushed round the edges with the same ink pad and mounted the piece onto a 4.5 inch white card base, using foam tape. The ink is gorgeous, it has a lovely gleam! It's a very CAS design, but consequently the stamping has to be quite accurate! I did have to chuck a few that weren't up to scratch lol! Have a great weekend, and I'll see you tomorrow for the next My Time to Craft Challenge! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

DT card for Dream Valley Challenge 39

Good afternoon, my lovelies! Phew, it's hot! I just hope the good weather lasts until the end of the Paralympics - isn't it great that soon we'll be having yet more thrilling sport to enjoy?! It's time for another Dream Valley Challenge and this time the theme is STEAMPUNK . Our sponsor is My Mum's Craft Shop  There's a £10 voucher up for grabs! Here's my card:  I had to do a fancy shot because otherwise the sunshine reflecting from the silver card was just too dazzling! The paper is from MME but I didn't note the name - I love the cute antique aircraft! I layered it on silver card then die-cut the circle through the middle and added the silver 'porthole' frame. The Tim Holtz Gadget Gears die-cuts have been swiped with Weathered Wood and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks, and I used Peeled Paint Distress Embossing powder to give a verdigris effect. The rivets are silver pearls from stash. The cute image is Lil Victorian Steampunk Lad Er...
