The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #113 Anything Christmas Goes

Image
Evening, all! Sorry I'm a bit late with my post for The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge.    I had a dental appointment this morning and after lunch, feeling a little sore, lay down for half an hour's kip.  Two hours later... it was time to start on the Tea.  So apologies, but here I am and here is my card! The papers and sticker are from a very old Christmas paper pad by Echo Park.  I put the sentiment sticker onto white cardstock to give it some body and trimmed around the edges.  Then I mounted it onto some paper from my stash and added Love from Lizi peeloffs in gold moondust down the centre strip. A fairly simple card, with a slightly retro feel, suitable for a bloke! Check out the Challenge blog for some fab inspiration! Thanks for looking and take care. love Mags B x

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #105 Anything Christmas Goes

Image
Good morning! It's Christmas time again on my blog because there's a new Challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge.   I had a very old 12 x 12 paper pad from Echo Park called 'Merry Christmas' and I only had a few sheets left, so I was determined to use them up. With the help of Call Me Crafty Al's Sheetload of Cards sketch and instructions for November 2021 here I did it! As well as the papers I used clear iridescent glitter peeloffs by Love from Lizi, they transformed some slightly dull papers with lots of sparkle! I added silver glitter snowflakes behind the silver-embossed sentiment and a few sequins for even more sparkle! I made 9 of these altogether! Using up an entire paper pad is so satisfying!  Go and see what my teamies have made and get Christmassy!!  Thanks for looking and keep well.  love Mags B x

CRAFT Challenge #457 Sketch

Image
Happy St David's Day! As it's Thursday, there is a new Challenge at CRAFT Challenge and it's this great sketch: You can turn it round but we have to be able to see the sketch. My card uses Magical Princess by Digital Paper Craft. I added sparkle to her dress and Glossy Accents to her crown. The paper is Petticoats and Pinstripes by Echo Park. The sentiment came with a magazine freebie and I added a little stamped heart between the words. The ribbon and gems are from stash. Our sponsor this week is the fab Digital Paper Craft Go and see how my teamies have used the sketch and be inspired! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

The Squirrel and the Fox DT Challenge 49 Nautical/Sea Life

Image
Ahoy there, me hearties! It's time for another Challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox and this time we want you all to put on your cute Sailor Suits and make a card with a Nautical or Sea Life theme! Arrr! Our sponsor is Oak Pond Creations who are offering a lucky winner 3 free digistamps of your choice! Go and have a look-see at their fabulous images! The DT were given some digis to play with, I chose the adorable Beach Crabs they are so cute! I can't remember what this kind of card is officially called, but the front has been trimmed into a triangle. The papers are 'Splash' by Echo Park, they're gorgeously bright! I coloured the image with Promarkers, and added gold stickles here and there to the sand. The image is cut with a Spellbinders' Deckled Rectangle die, the deckle looks a bit like waves! or is that just me? The dancing starfish were cut from a Nitwits paper from the From the Sea collection, and I used gold stickles round the edges. Th...

The Squirrel and the Fox DT Challenge #47 Christmas in July

Image
I can't believe it's the end of June already! This year is speeding by! And it's time for another challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox . This time we're thinking about Christmas - yes, I know it's still months away, but if you make a Christmas card for our challenge you'll have one less to make in November and you'll feel soooo proud of yourself for being efficient! Or is that just me lol? Our sponsor this time is The Paper Shelter who kindly sent the DT some cute images to use. This one is adorable, I love the Victorian vibe! I used Promarkers to colour the image, then cut it out and layered on green card cut with a Spellbinders 'Holly Accents' die that happened to fall into my basket when I was shopping on Amazon! I was so excited when it arrived that I used it at once - and oh, dear, the card got stuck and tore and was such a mess! I'd forgotten to rub over the die with a tumble-dryer towel to make the card easier to remove! So I c...
