The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #95 Anything Christmas Goes.

Image
Hello, good morning and welcome! It's another cold, grey May day in S-E Hertfordshire, very suitable for doing some festive and cheerful Christmas crafting! And we have a new challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge to inspire you!  I have chosen to make some tags this time, using up scraps of card from a Hunkydory magazine gift from last year. The papers are in fact border designs from some of the cardstock that came with the kit.  I added snowflakes made with an MFT Die-namics layered snowflake die set - maddeningly, I can no longer find it on their website, so it must be out of print. The snowflakes are cut from no-shed glitter cardstock by Tonic, and the ribbon and baker's twine came from my stash.  I made 4 of each design - they were a bit fiddly, but I'm pleased with the result. Check out my teamies' gorgeous creations on the blog, and join in the challenge! It's never too soon to start Christmas crafting! Thanks for looking and take care! love Mag...

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #86 Anything Christmas Goes

Image
Hi there, my lovelies! I hope you're all keeping well.   There is a new Challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge where the theme is always Anything Christmas Goes.    I wanted a bit of a change from making cards, so I got out my embroidery cottons and a very old book of Scandinavian Christmas patterns to make some cross-stitch tags. I pulled out some threads around each image to make a little fringe, then glued them onto tags cut from kraft card. It was very relaxing to stitch while watching tv.   Have a look at my teamies' creations and get cracking on your Christmas makes! Only 11 and a half months to go lol!   Thanks for looking and take care.   Love, Mags B x

My Time To Craft DT Challenge #263 - Tag It!

Image
Good morning, good morning, good morning! I hope you're all keeping well and having a good weekend! I have a beef casserole simmering in the slow cooker, which smells delicious! We have a very straightforward challenge at My Time To Craft - Tag It! It does exactly what it says on the tin: Make a Tag . No cards this time, just A Tag Mine is for attaching to a special Christmas present. I made the base with a Sizzix Tag Die out of Kraft card, and white-embossed sowflakes in two corners. the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted and it is also heat embossed in white. Then I sponged Festive Berries and Fired Brick Distress Inks over the top. The 'berries' are from Hobbycraft. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbons are from stash. Do go and see the wonderful Tags that the DT has made, they are all so varied and pretty! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

Dream Valley Challenge 47 - Christmas!

Image
Yes, it's time for the last Dream Valley Challenge of 2012! Because it's such a busy time of year, this challenge is open for an entire month. The theme is Christmas and we have Four Sponsors offering prizes!!! Well, I thought I'd do something a little different, so here are some tags. They're really quick and easy, which is a good thing because I need 27 of them!! The base is a Nestabilities circle - not the biggest shape but the next one down. The scalloped red mat and the smaller white circle are also Nesties. The holly leaves are cut with a Whiff of Joy die, using pearlised green card. I wish I knew where it came from - it's what was left over a couple of years ago when we cut out a mahoosive Prayer Tree at Sunday School, and now I'm running out! The berries are white card candi coloured with a CT4 Spectrum Noir. I then put some Glossy Accents on top and sprinkled with Glamour Dust. The ties are all recycled from articles of clothing! I just glu...
