Madcap Manor

I have had several occasions recently for which I've been making cards, so there may be posts from me this week that are not DT cards!! This one has been received by my neighbour, who has had a tough 18 months coping with breast cancer. Thankfully she is healed! She has been absolutely wonderful about my bowel cancer, full of sympathy and good advice. The coloured card is from Anna Marie Designs and is a beautiful shade of lilac. I used a Spellbinders Die, Card Creator 5 x 7 Reflective Moments and layered it with foam pads. The sentiment is stamped in Mama Elephant Stargazer Pigment Ink, and the stamp is from Be Happy Today . The tear-shaped purple gems are from my stash. I hope your weekend is going well. For all my Welsh friends - CONGRATULATIONS to Wales for winning their first match at Euro 16! Oh dear, it's Monday again! Back to work day! However, to cheer you all up we have a new Challenge at Dream Valley! Our theme this time is Your Favourite Colour Combination Well, you'd think that is a pretty straightforward theme, wouldn't you? My trouble is, I have so many favourite colour combos! So I cheated a bit and thought of the card I wanted to make, and the friend who it's for, and worked backwards. My lovely neighbour is undergoing chemo for breast cancer: it's going well, but the treatment is making her feel grotty, so I wanted to make her a card to cheer her up. Voila! I had my first colour - PINK! I love PINK and GREEN and also PINK and BROWN and there was my colour combo, all ready and waiting! Our fab sponsor this time is the amazing My Mum's Craft Shop . Good morning, my lovelies! I hope the sun is shining for you today! The Challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox is Autumn or Spring which is appropriate for crafters in both hemispheres at the moment! Our sponsor is Sweet'n'Sassy Stamps and there is a great prize of 3 of their digis for the winner! The DT were fortunate enough to choose images to work with: this little mouse is Cocoa, isn't he cute? I used Promarkers - for Cocoa's fur I dotted on the colours rather than using the normal circular mothions, to give the impression of fur. Unfortunately I can't find my list of colours I used - I knew it was a mistake to tidy my craft hovel! The blue bow has been Glossy Accented. The mat uses a Spellbinders Floral Oval die, and I distressed the edges with Worn Lipstick DI. The papers were a freebie with a magazine some time ago and for a change I added them as triangles.
