Dream Valley Challenges #184 Animals

Image
Good morning! Happy Monday, everyone, I hope this is the start of a good week for you! Our new challenge at Dream Valley is Animals. Our sponsor is Fabrika Fantasy and a lucky winner will be able to choose 3 of their digis! I went with the adorable Little Dragons (scroll down to find the image.) All the papers are from the Snippets drawer, which is now almost too full to shut properly! I took the colours for my dragons from the spotted paper, using mint green and purple to make a congratulations card on the birth of twins. Do fly over to Dream Valley to see what my teamies have made and be inspired to join in! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

Twins! And a warning about a computer scam.

Evening, all! I've spent most of half term tidying, cleaning and chucking things out - whatever happened to my plans for several days' intensive crafting?! Alas, they went the way of all flesh! However, I have managed to make birthday cards for twins who will be two next week - and a right mischievous pair they are! I used these cute Lili of the Valley stamps, they are perfect for toddlers! I used a Go Kreate Frilly Square #6 die to cut out the image and emboss it with Excalibur (my gorgeous Grand Caliber machine) and distressed all the edges and papers with Salty Ocean Distress Ink. For this one, I used a Spellbinders Heart Circles die and distressed with Worn Lipstick but left the papers undistressed because they're more contrasting. The pram has been Glossy Accented. Who else had a toy pram like that wit...

Penny Black Saturday Challenge + Cute Card Thursday Sketch

Commercial cards for twins seem to stop at childhood, as far as I can tell. So it's lucky I'm now a cardmaker, since I have a 23rd birthday to celebrate for a set of twins next month. This is for Clare: And this is for Sarah: The little ballerina is such a happy little poppet! She's Penny Black, and she is one of my oldest stamps. The theme at this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge is 'Lots of Dots' so I've dug out various dotty papers. The sketch is from Cute Card Thursday and I found it a bit trickier than I expected, mainly because the 2 base cards aren't quite the same size, so there was a lot of measuring and re-measuring! I'm pleased with the flowers punched with Retro punches and smothered with glamour dust. When the sun hits them they sparkle like a very sparkly thing! Papers are a mix Basic Grey Green at Heart, Daisy Bucket At the Cape and a mix of scraps from stash. Gems on the flowers were a magazine freebie. The smallest flowers ar...
