CHAINO & HIS AFRICAN PERCUSSION SAFARI - JUNGLE ECHOES
Here's a great, great album from Chairo & His African Percussion Safari....
Leon "Chaino" Johnson (1927 – July 8, 1999), the self-styled "percussion genius of Africa," was an American bongo player. After touring for several years on the Chitlin' Circuit, he released several albums and became popular with listeners of exotica music in the late 1950s and early 1960s. In the promotion of his albums, a fictional biography was developed, depicting Chaino as an orphan from a lost tribe in central Africa who had been rescued by a missionary after his tribe had been massacred. Chaino was actually born in Philadelphia and raised in Chicago....
This is a Japanese pressing, it says 6 songs on the A side but there's only 5 songs on the record....

BEAVER HARRIS - AFRICAN DRUMS
Beaver Harris was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Harris came from an athletic family. He played baseball as a teenager for the Kansas City Monarchs (then part of the Negro American League) and was scouted by major league teams Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants.[
It was only after he was in the army that he began playing drums. After his national service ended in 1963 he moved to New York City and was encouraged to pursue a musical career by Max Roach. While in New York he worked and/or toured with Marion Brown, Dexter Gordon, Albert Ayler, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Clifford Jordan, Howard Johnson, Sheila Jordan, Lee Konitz, Thelonious Monk, Roswell Rudd, Sonny Rollins, McCoy Tyner,Sonny Stitt, Clark Terry, Chet Baker, Doc Cheatham and Larry Coryell among other musicians.
In addition, Harris founded a "world music" band and called it "The 360 Degree Music Experience". The band included some of the most significant artists of the time, including Buster Williams, Hamiet Bluiett, Don Pullen, Jimmy Garrison, Ron Carter, Ricky Ford, Titos Sompa and many others.
Harris died of prostate cancer at the age of 55.
Here's a solo album from Beaver Harris playing the drums with David S. Ware playing the tenor saxophone on one song....

LARRY ROBBINS WITH HIS ORCHESTRA & CHORUS - DRUMS FOR FANS
Can't find a lot of info about this one, it's being sold on the internet (ebay, popsike and other places) and there they call it "very rare killer psych funk breaks" etc. ... Very funny record though, it says on the cover (in German) "would you like to know how a drummer hears the music from his band?" and that's basically what it is, the band in the background on volume 5 and the drums on volume.... 40....

He made a few albums that were a lot better than this one judging by this:
enjoy!
