MARA RADIO: INTERVIEW TAN DESENG ABOUT TITIM FATIMAH

Here's an interview with the Maestro Tan Deseng about the great Sundanese sinden (female singer) Titim Fatimah with some incredible music, I think these are unreleased private recordings and listening to them.... in my mind at least, she truly was THE greatest of them all.... Tan Deseng knew Titim Fatimah very well, he produced most of her records and composed many of her songs. Truly, an amazing tape this.... GET IT HERE Enjoy!!!!

The Bridgestone was an Indonesian-Chinese band, I think they were probably from Bandung, one of their members was Tan De Seng, one of the great maestro's in Sundanese traditional music, he produced almost all the albums from Titim Fatimah.... They play 60's Hong Kong hits, pop songs, a go go songs, great album!!!! GET IT HERE Enjoy!

REST IN PEACE TAN DESENG

Yesterday Tan Deseng passed away. One of the great maestro's in Sundanese traditional music, he produced most of Titim Fatimah's albums, worked with too many artists to list. I met him once, at the house of Gugum Gumbira and we talked, for hours, about Titim Fatimah, about Sundanese music, about his life, his faith and lots of other stuff, we lost another of the truly great ones.... Rest In Peace Tan Deseng.....

TITIM FATIMAH - POP SUNDA VOL. 1

Here's a very old, very rare Pop Sunda cassette from Titim Fatimah. Unfortunately the tape got caught in the cassette recorder, got damaged so I'll have to get it repaired, but I did manage to record side A, will upload the whole cassette soon as I can....

Tan De Seng leading Band Salendrof on this one, he's one of the all time great Sundanese composers/musicians, from Chinese descent, I met him at Gugum Gumbira's place a few months ago, we spend hours talking, about Titim, about Sundanese music, about Indonesia, he's just incredible and I hope to meet him soon again.....
