Cold as Ice Christmas card

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Cold as Ice".

Time flies so fast, in less than two weeks it's Christmas time. This is my last Christmas card! First I started with Forest Collage Paper and Soft Matte gel. Such a great first layer and starting point. But it's also a bit bold. So I toned it down into the background by applying a thin layer of White Gesso.

 

With Distress Paint Peeled Paint, Forest Moss and Barn Door I colored some images of the Collage Paper. To bring it to the background also, I applied a thin layer of White Gesso over it. To give the card some texture I used the Sparkle stencil with Texture Paste. I gave the Woodlands a green color with Rustic Wilderness.

Textured Halloween card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Touchy Feely".

I didn't live up to the intention I had to made last week to use the Moon Masks on every Halloween card. I was inspired for this card by the Death's-Head Hawk Moth, such a terrifying movie. I didn't follow the color palette of the moth. I'm really into the Halloween green colors

 

First I started with the background with all sorts of greens and black: Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn, Black Soot, Distress Ink Rustic Wilderness, Distress Oxide Spray Peeled Paint, and Nuvo Sparkle Spray Apple Spritzer. I stamped randomly with Undertaker and Messy stamps. In the corners I used the Spider Web die. For the focal point I used one of the big moth looking butterflies from the Specimen stamp set. I also stamped this on a transparent sheet. To give it texture I used Wings and Bones Mold set to add the skull.
