Something Script card

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Something beginning with 'S'".

Had to think about my inspiration for something beginning with an S. Wanted to use summer as my inspiration first, but then I had the idea for Script. The stamps I use most for my backgrounds are text stamps. So I started with my favorite script stamps, Faded Type, Entomology and Ledger Script.

For some color I used Distress Oxide Spray Walnut stain, Distress Spray Stain Speckled Egg and Rusty Hinge. I like this color combination. Grungy yet colourful. For some texture I used Digits stencil, (didn't have a script stencil) with Texture Paste which I made black with Distress Paint Black Soot. After it dried I used Metallic Wax Bronze Age and Mint to give the Texture Paste a shimmery effect.

Full of Curiosity Window Frame card

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Frame It".

For this challenge I had picked out the Window Frames, and thought the Brickwork 3D Embossing Folder would match very well with it. Both are really realistic, and it had been a while since I had used the Brickwork folder and the technique I use with it to make it even more realistic. First, I gave the background a first layer of color with Distress Oxide Walnut Stain, Hickory Smoke, and Distress Spray Stain Ground Espresso. Then I used the Brickwork Embossing Folder with Distress Oxide Frayed Burlap on it.

I applied Distress Paint Antique Linen very lightly with my finger in a few spots. Then I used Distress Crayon Rusty Hinge, Ground Espresso and Peeled Paint for some more color difference in the bricks. With Distress Oxide Speckled Egg I made the grout a bit lighter in color. I also distressed the Window Frame with Distress Crayon, to make the weathered effect of the bricks similar with the window.
