Mixed Media Dina card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Mixed Media".

As it’s the first Monday of the month we are showcasing a brand/company. This week we are all using some fabulous products from Dina Wakley. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

When I think of Dina's style, I think of bright colors and wild color combo's. I was inspired by that thought, but also by my favorite Gloss Sprays Lemon and Magenta. When these two colors mix, it gives the coolest color, a kind of coral neon like color. You have to take my word for it, as the pictures aren't showing it properly.
So I started with these colors on this card. When the sprays were dry I used Heavy Body paint Lime. I still have the tubes, and it has become a bit chunky and funky, but for this scraping technique they are still fine.

I love the Collaged Girls stamp set, and so cool the Lonely Girls has made her return in this set!  It's hard stamping with large stamps on the Gloss Sprays, but in this case I really love it and it's perfect for this style!  For some extra colors I used Distress Oxide Spray Speckled Egg. As expected, it didn't like the Gloss Spray base. Should have used the paint for the splashes... Lesson for next time! As a final color element I used the Spaced Dots stencil with Texture Paste and Heavy Body Paint Blueberry. This one has also become a bit chunky and funky, but blends well with the Texture Paste.

Playing with Paint card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Playing with Paint".

As it’s the first Monday of the month we are showcasing a brand/company. This week we are all using some fabulous products from Dina Wakely. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

This time I played with Gloss Sprays from Dina Wakely for the first time. I had already seen some videos of it and how cool they mix, especially if it is on a surface that the paints can not soaki inimmediately. First started with collaging the background with Collage Paper Botanical and normal tissue paper, but also with pieces of old book paper and Washi Tape. On top of it I applied a layer of White Gesso, and then a layer of Clear Gesso. Just the way I like my Gesso ;).
