Moms 75th Birthday card

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Alcohol Inks/Drinks".


This card was made especially for my mother, she turned 75 a few days ago and I used colors that she really likes. When I work with Alcohol Inks, I always use Yupo. I worked with the Air Blower for the first time and it's such a nice tool. It's a lot less with the hairdryer. Unfortunately I didn't have isopropyl alcohol only Blending Solution. But I love the effect I got with only the Blending Solution too.

 

The majority of makeing this card has gone into building up the alcohol colors. I have used Aqua, Aquamarine, Purple Twilight, Raspberry and Rose Alloy and Gunmetal Metallics for added effect.

Sweetheart card

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Sweet Treats".


I have a weakness for sweets, especially chocolate and licorice. When I think of spring and Easter, I think of pastel colors and that's why I used the new Distress color Saltwater Taffy together with Salvaged Patina and Speckled Egg. I mixed my Distress Spray Stain Salvaged Patina with Perfect Pearls Mint, which gives a subtle shimmery effect.

 

For the main focus point of this card I made a faux candy Faceted Heart wrapped in tin foil. I colored it with Alcohol Ink and Alloy. This was my first time working with Alloy and I had to figure out how best to get the effect I was looking for. But I think I got it.
