Cold as Ice Christmas card

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Cold as Ice".

Time flies so fast, in less than two weeks it's Christmas time. This is my last Christmas card! First I started with Forest Collage Paper and Soft Matte gel. Such a great first layer and starting point. But it's also a bit bold. So I toned it down into the background by applying a thin layer of White Gesso.

 

With Distress Paint Peeled Paint, Forest Moss and Barn Door I colored some images of the Collage Paper. To bring it to the background also, I applied a thin layer of White Gesso over it. To give the card some texture I used the Sparkle stencil with Texture Paste. I gave the Woodlands a green color with Rustic Wilderness.

Santa Christmas card

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Santa".

As it’s the first Monday of the month we are showcasing a brand/company. This week we are all using some fabulous products from Tim Holtz! You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

For this card I used the smallest Santa Claus stamp I had. But first I started with the background using Distress Oxide Spray Speckled Egg and Hickory Smoke. Together with my own mix of Distress Spray Stain Speckled Egg and Perfect Pearls Pewter.

 

I added some texture with the Snowflake stencil and Texture Paste. Once the Texture Paste was dry, I used my own spray mix over the snowflakes. That caused the snowflakes to recede more into the background. I colored the little Santa Claus stamp with Distress Oxide Spray Speckled Egg and Hickory Smoke.
