Efenim, onumuzdeki hafta bir kukla yapim bir de stop-motion animasyon atolyemiz var. Detayli bilgi burada ve surada. Ayrica animayon atolyemizde bir de konuk egitmenimiz olacak, onunla ilgili detaylari da ayrica paylasacagiz. Simdilik boyle, esenlikler ^_^

Atolye: Stop-motion Kukla Animasyonu / Workshop: Stop-motion Puppet Animation

Efenim, yine biraz son dakikaya biraktim galiba bu haberi ama napalim. Mazur gorun.

Evet, konumuz yine bir atolye ve yine Izmir'de. Bu sefer kukla yapimi degil, kukla animasyonu uzerine yogunlasacagiz. Hatta bir onceki atolyeye katilip da kukla yapmis olanlarin kuklalarini canlandirip, kuklasi olmayanlari Everland'den iki konuk oyuncuyla tanistiracagiz. 

Kukla yapmayacagiz dedik ama, stop motion'a uygun bir kukla nedir ne degildir, nasil olmalidir filan gibi puf noktalarindan bahsetmeyecegimiz anlamina gelmiyor bu tabii ki. Lip-sync'ten temel insan hareketlerine, olabildigince detayli olacak olan bu atolye hemen onumuzdeki hafta, Sanatolye Varyant'ta.

I'll be giving a workshop about puppet animation. But it's gonna be in Turkey. I hope I'll learn enough Czech to do something similar in CZ soon.

stop-motion kukla atolyesi / stop-motion puppet workshop

evet, uzun zaman oldu yine yazmayali ama vallahi hic firsat olmadi. ustelik de bir suru yeni incik boncuk var bahsedecegim. ama bugunku konumuz bu degil.

yep, it's been a long while again, and there's new stuff i need to talk about. but not today. we have a workshop announcement today. but since it'll be in turkey, i won't bother to translate.

an itibariyle turkiye'de oldugumdan ve zamanlarin da cok guzel denk gelmis olmasindan kelli, sanatolye varyant ile birlikte bir kukla atolyesi duzenlemeye karar verdik.

mevzubahis atolyemiz 4-5-6-7 ekim gunlerinde 18:00-22:00 saatleri arasinda, izmir'de gerceklesecek.

atolye ile ilgili detayli bilgiyi, suradaki facebook sayfasindan da edinebilirsiniz. ama yine de ufak bir ozet geceyim;

ilk uc gunde kuklalarimizi yapacagiz, son gun de yapilan kuklalari canlandirip minik animasyonlar hazirlayacagiz. atolye suresince kullanilacak tum malzemeler bizim tarafimizdan (sanatolye ve ben, evet) temin edilecek. buna teller, kumaslar, hamurlar, yapistiricilar, boyalar ve diger turlu cesit alet edevat da dahil.

film isleri / film business

efenim malum, gunlerdir cekime yetismekti, mobilya tamamlamakti, kostum hazirlamaktir filan derken buralari epey bosladim. velhasil, setin ilk fotograflariyla karsinizdayim.

well, since i've been busy with the shooting, furniture, costuming and all, i just didn't have any time to take care of this place. however, here are the first making of photos from the set.

yukarida, yasini da goz onunde bulundurarak cekim planinda ilk gune koydugum ve surada bahsetmis oldugun hanimefendiyi ve oyunculuk yetenegini gorusyorsunuz. tabi mudahale bicimimden de anlasilacagi uzere oyunculuktu yetenekti filan hak getire kendisinde. dusununce bu kuklalarin hicbirinde zerre yetenek, ongoru vs yok ya, neyse.

remember this old lady that i was talking about here? so, considering her age and everything i put her scenes on the first days of shooting. and here in the photo above, you can see her and her acting talent, which is almost none by the way. actually, when i come to think about it, none of these puppets have even the slightest talent for that matter. but anyway..

burada da yasli hanimin ve yaslanmadan onceki (nam-i diger genc) halinin yasadigi evi goruyorsunuz. renk ayari bozukca oldugu icin bir onceki fotograftan cok daha sicak gorunuyor tabi. artik meshur olmus olan su tekli koltuk disinda her sey fena halde el yapimi bu arada.

and here is the place where the old lady and her version before getting old (aka young) lives. it looks way warmer than the previous photo, thanks to wrong-ish white balance settings. and by the way, everything visible here is painfully handmade (well except for the armchair, which is getting quite famous already)

veee ilk konusmali filmimin ilk konusmalarini yaptiran bendeniz. sanci dolu (yok be, keyifliydi aslinda) bir cekimin ardindan "bakalim nasil calisiyor" diye bakip, gercekten konusuyor olan kuklalari gordugumde yasadigim "hanim kos kos! cocuk konustu!" heyecani ise bambaskaymis cidden.

and me, working on the very first speakings of my very first speaking film. notwithstanding the long hours of shooting, the first moment of "omg! the baby is has spoken!" excitement after testing the footage with sound was just priceless.

"stiny vzpominek"

aslinda bu arkadastan tee ne Zamandir bahsedecegim guya ama bir turlu yapim asamasi fotograflarini ele geciremedigim icin hep kaldi. aklima gelmisken sonucu paylasayim bari dedim.
"stiny vzpominek", "hatiralarin golgesi" filan gibi bir anlama sahip. filmin hikayesi petra hanim'a, kuklalar da bana ait. kuklalari haZir armatur kullanarak yaptim. bu armatur kullanma meselesini sevemiyorum malesef Zira kuklanin isi bittikten sonra kendilerini parcalayip armaturu iade etmek gerekiyor. ic parcalayici, evet.
filmin esas olayi 35mm deneyimini yasamis olmamiZdi, herhangi bir teknolojik cihaZ kullanmanin yasak oldugu bir ortamda bir haftada cekip bitirdik. animasyonlarda da golge animasyonlarini cam uZerinde paper cut-out teknigini kullanarak peter bey ve Zofka hanim kotardi, kukla animasyonu da benim isimdi.

actually, i should've been talking about this a long long time ago but i never got hold of the making-of photos. so i decided to share the result instead.
"stiny vzpominek" means something like "shadows of the memories". the story is written by petra and the puppets are made by me. i made them using stop-motion armatures. yet, i really don't like using those armatures since they need to be torn apart after the shooting. such a tragedy, if you ask me.
anywho, the main thing about this little film was to be able to experience the good ol' film magic with 35mm and without using any technological devices (such as computers, softwares and onionskins). the shadow animations were done by peter and Zofka, using paper cut-out on a glass. and i did the puppet animations.
and yet, experience is experience anyway. better than nothing, eh?

efenim bugun saat 3'te (evet, 1 saat kadar sonra yani) trt cocuk semalarinda olacagim.. acikcasi nasil bir sey cikacak karsimiZa ben de hic bilmiyorum, pek sancili gecmisti cekim Zira.. velhasil, hepberaber pek merak..


ekleme: evet, bi sekilde kaydetmis bulunuyorum. o halde bu da kaciranlar ve yeniden iZlemek isteyenler icin gelsin;

stop-motion kukla siparisi / custom order for a stop-motion puppet

efenim, stop-motion testlerinde kullanilmak uZere yapmis oldugum basit ve temel bir kukla kendileri. ayrica ilk stop-motion kukla siparisim oldugu icin de ayrica oZel bir oneme sahip.
istenen, sadece animasyon testlerini yapabilmek ve biraZ da deneyim kaZanmak amaciyla kullanilmak uZere, cok detayi olmayan basit bir kuklaydi.

this one is a basic puppet i've made upon a custom order to be used in stop-motion tests. and since it's my first stop-motion puppet for a custom order, it's a bit more special than others.
the aim of the order was to have a simple yet appropriate puppet to be able to gain some experience on working with puppets and do some animation tests.

kukla bittikten sonra ben de uygunlugunu ve hareket kapasitesini test etmek ve sahibine gostermek maksadiyla iki test cektim. iki cift goZkapagina (acik ve kapali) ve 3 farkli agiZa (kapali, acik, gulumseyen) sahip olan bu kuklacigin goZleri de disardan bir igne yardimiya hareket ettirilebiliyor. testlerin ilkinde goZkapaklari ve agiZlari da denedim. ikincisinde ise daha cok beden animasyonuna yogunlasip ekstralarini hic kullanmadim.
dedigim gibi, cok basit, sadece nasil hareket edebildigini vs. gormek icin yapmis oldugum icin bilgisayarin kamerasini kullanarak cektigim cok temel iki test oldu bunlar. o yuZden isik degisimleri ve oZellikle ilk testteki arka plan oynamasini maZur gorun..

after the puppet was ready, i shot two animation tests to be sure that the puppet was suitable for animating. he has two pairs of eyelids (one pair of closed, and one pair of open) and three different mouths (closed, open, smiling). and his eyeballs can be controlled with a pin, from outside (obviously). i used those features in the first test. and in the second one, i focused on the general body animation so i didn't use any of the mouths or eyelids whatsoever.
as i said before, these were the tests i've done just to see how he moves, etc. with my computer's in-built webcam. so, please excuse the flickering (caused by the light changes) and especially the moving background in the first one.

simdi ben bu son posttan hemen sonra bi de bros serisi yapmistim kadinli ama sonra bir manyaklik basladi, onlardan bahsetmeye bile firsatim olmadi. bu saatten sonra da artik cok gec oldu heralde, cok merak edenler icin dukkanlarin kapilari hep acik ama, malum hicbiri satilmadi halen ;)

neyse, gelelim bahsi gecen manyakliga.. gecen hafta cekimlerini bitirdigim yeni filmimin setiydi, kuklalariydi filan derken kafami kasimaya vakit bulamadim, nisan boyle hoop diye yok oldu, mart'tan mayis'a gectim resmen.

kukla meraklilarinin yanisira minyaturculerin de ilgisini ceker diye filmden birkac fotografi koymayi uygun gordum..
Zira kuklalar ve mobilyalarin tamamini iste o nasil gectigini anlayamadigim bir-birbucuk aylik sure icinde, cokluk mukavva kullanarak (kuklalarda mukavva yok tabi) yaptim. lakin gece gunduZ birbirine karismis oldugu icin o aralar, malesef yapim asamasi fotograflari yok, merak eden olursa seve seve anlatirim tabii..
bir de flickr albumu haZirladim set fotograflarindan olusan, merak edenleri soyle alabiliriZ..
velhasil, simdilik fotograflarla bas basa birakayim herkesi, ben de iki gun sonra gerceklesecek olan sergiye kukla yetistirmeye gideyim..
