Papertake weekly: a stitch in time

The theme at Papertake weekly is to using stitching on your card. This is a card that I made for my niece using scraps of pretty paper cut into heart shapes. I lightly glued them into place along the folds and then sewed with a machine.
I got the idea for this card from one I saw on Pinterest

One post or three?????

I've been a little absent from my craft room over the last couple of days, but I ventured in there today and came up with a few simple cards.
First of all is this card for the one layer wednesday theme (orange, yellow and aqua) and the created by hand theme (circles and dots) made using stamps from Stampotique, (this would also fit the current stampotique challenge of Clean and simple, but obviously, I'm not eligible to enter that)

.............ooooooooooooo00000000000oooooooooo..................

This next one is also using Stampotique but is not coloured by me, this was actually coloured by my 8 year old son , using cheapo supermarket pencils (I'm way to protective of my coloursoft pencils)
I think he did a marvellous job for a fathers day card, and I'm entering it on his behalf for the Papertake weekly challenge (dads and lads)

.............ooooooooooooo00000000000oooooooooo..................

finally, my eldest son is way too lazy to make his own card, so he "commissions" me to make them for him. I made this really simple card using stamps from Rogue Redhead Designs (bits and pieces plate). which I'm hoping is suitable for the CAS-ual fridays Colour Blocking theme

chocolate heart card

My book group meets on the second Monday of each month and of course that means that it falls on valentine's day this month. We considered moving it, but then decided that really we might as well be with friends than forcing our husbands to treat us to overpriced meals full of loved up youngies.
I decided though that I wanted to mark the date with a little valentine something for the members of the group. I found these little chocolate hearts, and then decided to make them into cards. I used a book page for the heart, and used this fabulous Mark Twain quote, which could have been made for book groups! both the floral heart and quote are from Scrolls Work Stamps.

These cards were so quick to make, I'm thinking they would make the coolest wedding invitations.

I decided not to put these cards in envelopes, as they are so bulky, but make little brown paper bags

After they were all finished I closed the bags with a presonalised embellishment stapled to the bag

This fits many challenges this week, including
Papertake weekly - have a heart
Crazy Amigo - valentine
Created by hand - queen of hearts (As I'm "in charge" of the reading group lol)
wednesday Stamper - expressions of love
theme thursday - words

it also fits the stampotique challenge, so don't forget to check that out, you could win $30 of stamps!! I haven't shown my piece for this yet as the stampotique team is so big at the moment, the designers' pieces are being staggered on the blog, so keep checking back for inspiration.

up, up and away...

...in my beautiful, my beautiful balloooooooon.

I needed a quick card for a male birthday (yes it's today and I had forgotten)
I decided to make this as the person it is for has indeed been on a balloon ride, and anyway who doesn't like the idea of hot-air balloons?

I made the background using my article in craft stamper magazine, but using tumbled glass, stormy sky and chipped sapphire inks, then over stamping Great grandfathers letter (0504-Q ) from the frantic stamper in stormy sky. I then stamped the Med balloon(116-03-1) also from the frantic stamper over the top with black ink and again onto patterned paper which I cut out and mounted on 3D foam

I am entering this for Papertake Weekly's "just the one challenge" as I have only used blue
and secret crafter's Clean and simple challenge

3 challenges before breakfast!!

I have made this piece for 3 challenges
sunday stampers- Circles
inchy by inch - time
mixed media monday - pink

The watch stamp is by non-sequitur, the words are invoke arts and the circles are PaperArtsy

I'm adding another picture as I have now turned this tag into a card as I wanted to send it to a very special lady who has recently had some very good news!

same stamps, same papers, different sketch.

I need another baby boy card, everyone I know seems to be having baby boys,in fact, I've still got another to do. I decided to try out another sketch challenge. This time it was the sketch at Papertake Weekly. I am also determined to enter each of the challenges in my list at least once!!

This one didn't quite turn out as I imagined, in my head it was all shabby chic gorgeousness, but it didn't quite work, but it will be fine for what I need it for. I have used my sewing machine for the stitching.
