Clean and Simple Fathers day Card

Leaving it until the last minute as usual, I needed a fathers day card for the boys to give to their dad tomorrow.

My Stampotique stamps haven't been out of the box much recently, but I remembered these owl stamps (designed by Jo Capper-Sandon) and thought that they would be perfect with this silly sentiment (which I did with individual letters.
The images are coloured with pencils

doodling..

Oh what a joy! two of my favourite challenges have the same theme this week.
Less is more have a one-layer week, which perfectly suits this card that I made for the Stampotique challenge.

I used Pretty Party Dress from Stampotique and I doodled!!

I doodled the patterns on the dress, the partial frame and the words! that's a lot of doodling for me. (I guess playing the DrawSomething iphone app is starting to sneak into my cardmaking!!)

ballerina gift bag from an A4 envelope

Continuing with the music theme for the March Happy Daze challenge, I decided to use some Tim Holtz tissue tape and lost Coast's Ballerina 2 to make a simple gift bag from a A4 envelope.

To make the bag cut the envelope to 9 inches long. Use the cut off part to make the tag.
score the sides and base of envelope at 1.5 inches and fold. Score 3 inches from the top and fold this to the inside of the bag. Do not make up the bag until all the inking is done. Attach the tissue tape all the way around the bag leaving a little space.

Fold back the bottom 1.5 inch and ink with vintage photo distress ink below and just above the tape.
Stamp Abstract foliage along the bottom with vintage photo.

Fold into the bag shape, glue the base triangles to the base of the bag.

Punch holes in the top, attach the tag (which was simply stamped, inked and coloured with pencils)

Tie ribbon through holes.

stampotique: wearable art challenge and a chance to be a guest designer.

Want a chance to be a guest designer for Stampotique? We love to give our fans a chance to be a part of Stampotique throughout the year, and our challenges here are one way to do that.

There are 2 ways to enter this challenge. First one is you can join in with our challenge here and when entering put GDT next to your entry. Second way is you can create anything with Stampotique stamps and post it over on our Facebook page. Please remember either way you must use Stampotique stamps.
We will announce our next guest designer with our next challenge on March 28th.

--------------------

For my wearable art, I used Monster by Roc Nicholas. I stamped with versacraft fabric ink, which I hot-ironed to set. I stamped again onto felt and cut out the body, which I glued in place with fabric glue and the blanket stitched in place. I then embroidered various parts and sewed on a button. I also used whatever stamp. I gave this t-shirt to my 9 year old to wear.

stampotique: Pink, purple and black

The current challenge at The stampotique designer's blog is Pink, Purple and Black, so I made this clean and simple card using stamps from Stampotique

blue for Happy Daze

Continuing the theme of using techniques that we love this month. I have decided to go with my all time favourite technique of colouring with pencils. Usually I colour onto Kraft card, but I wanted to show how it works just as well on any coloured card.

I also used another technique I love: Making tatty paper flowers which I also inked with stormy sky, and added just a hint of stickles

I stamped Jasmin in a dark blue ink (deep lagoon, versafine) and coloured with pencils, I inked around the edges of the card with stormy sky distress ink, and also stamped with abstract foliage with the same ink.

going green with stampotique at Gingersnap

I love the combined challenges of using Stampotique stamps with the gingersnap themes, whilst Stampotique are sponsoring the challenges at Gingersnap.

This was such an easy challenge, green is always so easy to use. To make this background I simply applied 3 colours of green ink to a glass mat, spray with mica spray, swirled it around with my finger and then dabbed my card onto it.

Then it was sinply stamped with Jo Capper-Sandon's grass stamp in all three colours. I inked around the edge with the darkest green, added a sentiment some paper ribbon and applied to a card blank.

stampotique challenge: Alter Something

This time at Stampotique, we are challenging you to "alter something". To me to alter means to change the purpose of something, but I know that this is not everyone's definition.
so I took a cheap frame, stamped some splatter blob and french text from Jo Capper-Sandon's range at stampotique.

I added some of the flowers which I showed how to make in yesterday's tutorial,

and in the frame I put some squared writing paper. and now it's a cute little dry-wipe memo board.

You could of course use lined or plain paper, but I have a bit of a thing for squared paper.

Hidden message, for Happy Daze

Continuing the "try something new" theme for the Happy Daze challenge, I thought that sometimes the easiest way to give something new a try is to copy something you've seen in a magazine.

I'm cheating a little here as I'm copying my own idea from my article in this month's Craft Stamper Magazine, which used Stampotique Stamps available from Happy Daze.

The card is a tent fold card with a gap at the top to hold a strip of card.
I used the wonderful moon girl, as well as Daisy Daisy, hearts Cubed and Each life, all of which are available from Happy Daze.

The instructions are in this month's craft stamper, which you can also get from Happy Daze

pocket/handbag calendar challenge at stampotique

The Current Challenge at Stampotique is to make a calendar to fit in your purse/calendar. I made mine really simply by printing off a calendar and over stamping it with a butterfly in a light colour which coordinated with the double sided paper. I then protected the whole thing with laminating film so that it might survive the disaster area that is my handbag.

less is more week 50: birds

The theme at Less is more is Birds But it's also One Layer week. I've decided to (yet again) mess with my one layer card by cutting an aperture. This time a circular(ish) one. I really don't like cutting circles, they never quite work, so don't look to closely!!

I've stamped the sentiment inside the aperture.

both stamps are by Stampotique.

Stampotique meets gingersnap creations : ribbon challenge

two of my favourites combine this month as Stampotique Originals are sponsoring the challenges at Gingersnap creations. The overall theme at Gingersnap creations this month is using up scraps, and this weeks new theme is ribbons...

sooo taking all that into consideration (and the fact that I needed a new baby card for a friend) this is what I came up with.

The stamp is Strolling by Stampotique, and I have finished with just a scrap of knotted ribbon. The image is of course stamped in brown onto kraft card and coloured with pencils.

Craft stamper February 2012 - on the cover

Well sort of..

My article is about hidden messages cards, and you can see one of the cards in the middle of the pictures along the bottom.

I have used stamps from Stampotique.

This is the hidden message in the one on the cover.
You'll have to get the magazine to see the other two, and how they were made.

couple of things that I forgot to blog..

I really fell behind with my blogging over the last few weeks, so here's a couple of things to catch up.
first of all my DT entry for the gingersnap white and soft yellows challenge. Made with a swipe of jenni bowlin malted milk ink, die cuts and bubble beads from penny wise arts.

secondly is my piece for the last stampotique challenge, which was shimmer and sparkle, practically everything on this card is sparkly!
