Charming!

The theme at Less is More is to use a charm on your clean and simple card. This is a baby card I made with a Lili of the valley stamp, with a cute "made with love" charm.

It's hard to see from the picture but I have dotted glitter glue around the image for extra interest.

the image is coloured with pencils.

OLW 76 colour in winter

The Challenge at one layer Wednesday is to use grey and white and a pop of colour,
This fit perfectly with a technique that has been swirling around my head for the last week. I was thinking about colouring on kraft card with pencils and how it would also work nicely on grey card using just grey and white pencils (it does, trust me)
but then I got to thinking if it would work if you created your own grey background with distress ink.

to make this card, I stamped the elephant (lili of the valley) with versafine grey ink. then masked off the area with torn post-it notes, and inked up with pumice stone distress ink. I then coloured with various grey and white pencils, with my pop of red. I finished with glossy accents on the bubbles.

I'm a Happy Stamper!

I had a fantastic time at Happy Stampers on Saturday. I didn't buy much (although there was plenty to tempt) but I did get some stamps from Stamp Camp and some metallic mesh ribbon from ribbon box.
The words on this card are from a brilliant Stamp Camp set, and the girl of course is from Lili of the Valley. I've made the detachable ribbon brooch from the metallic mesh.

The image is coloured with pencils, I have gone round the image with my lightest grey and blended with a blender pencil to give depth to this one layer card. I've also finished with a touch of glitter.

(as my little girl has a tiara, I'm entering her for Crazy Amigos' princesses and queens theme.)

Just wanted to say a big "Hi" to everyone that came to speak to me on Saturday when I was demoing for Happy Daze . It was just brilliant, and I just loved demoing. I'll let you in to a secret now, that's the first time I've ever crafted in front of anyone, except my kids!!
Just love this picture, that Chris took. it almost looks like I knew what I was doing!

Theme thursday : girls

This is a variation on a card that I made a couple of weeks ago, which I thought I'd enter for Theme Thursday I made this one at the same time but it was for Jo's birthday.
This time I decided to raise up the parcel on a papermania springy thing.

The stamp is by lili of the valley, and the stencil is by crafter's workshop. The glitter border and embossing folder are papermania. The little girl is coloured with pencil and I've used a glitz spritz spray for the background.

LIM acetate: blowing bubbles

This week's challenge at the fabulous Less Is More is to use Acetate. I love acetate cards. I like how you can make things appear to float, so I thought it would be perfect for this elephant with bubbles from lili of the valley. I have embssed the corner with a fiskars embossing plate, glittered the bubbles with stickes and added a strip of paper along the bottom.

On the reverse of this there is a strip of white card (inside the card) so that you can write a (very small) message.

edit: I forgot to say the elepant and bubbles are coloured with coloursoft pencils onto white card, then cut out and glued to the card (a couple of people have asked)

gingersnap supply challenge - mists

The new challenge at gingersnap this week is to use mists in your artwork. I've used a glitz spritz spray along with a number mask from crafters workshop and this oh so funny little girl from lili of the valley.

the overall theme at GS this month is oriental, but I don't really do oriental, so I decided to just go with the mists, and as a result, my piece sticks out a bit like a sore thumb, lol

less is more : a touch of red

This week's challenge at Less is More is "a touch of red" I made this card for my son's birthday as he has a really cute grey rat as a pet. I fell in love with this Lili of the Valley stamp as soon as I saw it.
it's a really really quick make, simply stamped, coloured with pencils, a glued on knot (no, this one isn't covering a mistake either, it's just sort of become a signature) and finally I highlighted the cherries with glossy accents.

I know this card also has blue on it, but I think it's the red that really makes it "pop"

less is more- masculine

I picked up some absolutely adorable stamps from the lili of the valley stand yesterday at harrogate. They are so cute! I've been having a quick play and used a boy stamp to make this simple one layer card for the masculine theme at Less is more. Yes, believe it or not men like cute too!!!

This was simply stamped onto Kraft card and coloured with coloursoft pencils. The sentiment is from PaperArtsy.
