GC113- babes and tots

For the current gingersnap theme, babes and tots, I decided to make a new baby card using the floating front method I did for Craft Stamper Magazine. I wanted to show that you didn't have to have a floating cut out image, but that it was a good way to mount tags too. The image is a forever friends stamp, coloured with pencils.

One Layer Wednesday Stamper

yes, that's a combination of one layer Wednesday and Wednesday Stamper, as I have combined the two challenges to make this simple card.

One layer Wednesday's Challenge is Eggs and Wednesday Stamper is "fabulously colourful" I used nearly every colour in my pencil pot to make this!
For once the ribbon is not covering any kind of mistake, I think I've now got so used to putting them on to cover smudges that it looked wrong without it, lol.

The stamps are from a forever friends set.

forever friends guest appearance.

Although I have given up my place on the forever friends DT (I was just a little over-committed!) I have still taken part in the current challenge as I was sent some lovely images from DRS designs to play with. The challenge is a colour bingo challenge. Choose 3 colours from the bingo card, in either a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line (or you can use all of the colours)

I chose the bottom left to top right diagonal and used the make a wish candles and words to make a cake box.

I thought this would be a nice thing to give someone on their birthday, the candle on the front of the box can be removed and used on the cake.

Forever Friends, sketch challenge

This week at the forever friends challenge we have a sketch challenge for you, sponsored by Stitchy bearsThe design team were given some lovely digital papers and sentiments to play with. I'm not really a digi crafter, but I really liked these and they transferred easily into "my Craft Studio"
The only part of this card that wasn't done with their stuff was the bear stamp.

It is with much regret that this will be my last forever friend challenge on the DT, I've handed over the running of the challenge to the more than capable Sande. I shall be popping up occasionally as a guest DT as I have some sponsorship pieces still to use.

Forever friends challenges

The current challenge at forever friends is dots and spots, the design team were sent some digital chic frames from Black leaf studios I am still getting used to using digital images and forgot that they smudge when you try to distress them, but that was okay I think it kind of worked. The "love you more" words are from a PaperArtsy hotpick and worked perfectly with this frame.

we also have a current monthly challenge sponsored by digi doodle I was sent these doodle flowers which I used to make the background for this card with the theme "more than one fold

forever friends card for a man

The new theme at the forever friends challenge is a card for a man or boy. The challenge is sponsored by Whismy stamps,

and the design team were sent some digi images. I chose this "happy birthday from all of us" image. it includes the ants holding the gift and the words.

I printed it out really small (the detail is good enough to print out large) and teamed it up with the bear image (which came free with the docrafts mag ages ago). I decided to colour in my bear with grey for a change and I really like the effect. in fact I actually really like this card. it makes me smile!

GC85: Chestnut Theme Challenge - Hot Beverages

I knew what I wanted to use straightaway for this theme. I love this little bear with the mug and I love the effect of colouring him on kraft (especially the white pencil on kraft). However this is not Kraft card, but a scrap of Kraft envelope.

My boys love these chocolate sticks. just stir them into hot milk for a lovely hot chocolate drink. I can never resist treating them when I see them for sale. I decided to dress this one up my making the tag. The lines on the tag are from a PaperArtsy hotpick background stamp.

forever friends: matchbox

This week at the forever friends challenge we challenge you to use a matchbox in your forever friends creation. This challenge is being sponsored by I am Roses with a fabulous prize up for grabs for one random winner.

I used an extra large matchbox to make my gift box, which I will use to give money as a gift for my niece's birthday.

Watch out for our extra monthly challenge coming soon on forever friends, on the first Thursday of every month we will issue a monthly challenge. This means you have a whole month to take part, and there's still prizes up for grabs. This will run alongside the fortnightly challenges. So hopefully there's something for everyone!

forever friends: a door hanger

The new challenge at Forever Friends challenge tomorrow is to make a door hanger.
I decided to make mine double up as a card. The ribbon can be used to hold the card closed when it is in use as a door hanger, or just as decoration when it is a card. it is attached under the decorative paper, and although the charm looks as though it is tied on with the ribbon, it is actually glued to the card and completely separate to the ribbon.

The image is coloured with pencils and paper pieced with papermania papers from the same pack as the background papers.

Sasha is my niece who has a birthday coming up soon.

forever friends.....

A nice easy challenge for you this time at the forever friends challenge, a card in 45 mins. Now this means different things to some people. for some people, this is a quick card, for me this is ages. in fact I know this card took me far less than 45 minutes, but it's the Christmas card for my book group (hence the book page hats), and my challenge to myself is can I make all 9 that I need in 45 minutes??

I think I can.

the stamp came free with the docrafts magazine ages ago. The base card is Papermania Kraft card and I've coloured with coloursoft pencils.

forever friends: Chocolate or Cake

The Current Challenge at Forever Friends is Chocolate or Cake.

The design team were sent a gorgeously cute CD-ROM from Joanna Sheen, called Precious Petals, which includes toppers, gorgeous images, backing papers, sentiments and fabulous cake boxes.

I decided to make a chocolate bar wrapper, which I thought would be a nice little gift for the mum of a new baby girl. The backing paper and the gorgeous image are from the CD-ROM.

Forever Friends: Tags or Punches

This week at the forever friends challenge we challenge you to use tags or punches (or both) in your forever friends creation.
I used both on mine. The heart and crosses is a x-cut border punch and the heart is some random punch. The tag is a sissix die.

The bear is simply coloured with coloursoft pencils (no blending). I have made this for a friend that has recently had a baby girl. I've also knitted her a cardigan, which I am just finishing off the ends on. I will blog that soon too.

Forever friends: Home Decor

This week at the forever friends challenge, We challenge you to make a "home decor" item with your forever friends images. I decided to make this dry-wipe board. These are so simple to make. all you need is some book covering film (sticky back plastic to the Blue Peter fans). of course, you could also use a laminator.

The little journalling block is a mini from PaperArtsy

Forever friends sketch challenge sponsored by Joanna Sheen

Pop over to The Forever Friends challenge to see the sketch we have given you for the new challenge. Sponsored by Joanna Sheen, there is the opportunity to win a £10 voucher.

Some of the Design team were sent a Messy Rabbit CD Rom. I used backing papers, greeting and embellishments from the CD alongside my forever friends image. Basically everything except the bear is from the CD Rom

forever friend: Easel Card

This week at Forever friends we challenge you to make an easel card. We have a fabulous sponsor, I am Roses.

I am really enjoying playing with the flowers that the team were sent, and decided to make my bear hold one of the roses (which come on the wire) I did this, by stamping the bear's arm again and sandwiching the stem between the two arms using silicon glue.

I have made my "stopper" flat to the card, and added a tab to my top piece which slots under the topper.

forever friends: not a card but use a charm

This week at forever friends we challenge you to make something other than a card, but you must use a charm, and we have a sponsor again so you can win a fantastic prize, pop over now and have a look.

I decided to make a memory book for a friend who has just had a baby boy. The charm says "made with love" as that's how babies should be made ;)

The tag was so that I would have somewhere to write, but also doubles as a book mark.

I am also entering this for Mixed media monday where the theme is memories

forever friends notebook

This week at the forever friends challenge we challenge you to make a notebook using your forever friends images. The design team were each sent some messy rabbit town house and town house extra stamps from Joanna Sheen.

I used these along side my forever friends stamp to make this notebook, (containing a pad of post it notes) that I thought would make a nice new home gift instead of a card.
