daring card makers - Animalia

The theme on DCM this week is animals. I recently got this cat stamp from Inka, which I thought would be useful for children's cards or quick notelets. and this is what I've done here.
not very daring, you are saying? well for me it is, very daring to put something so simple on my blog. but sometimes I love a simple card.
I've stamped the cat straight onto a white card blank. coloured with watercolours, stamped the stripie hat onto a piece of white scrap and coloured with watercolours as well.
2 minutes...done!

things I like about stamping

There are so many things I like about stamping. I love the way you can make a stamp look different depending how you use it. I like how you can make things complicated or keep them really clean and simple.

but at this time of year there are two things about stamping I especially like.

it gives me the ability to make 32 christmas cards all the same in under two hours
and I don't run out of any consumables apart from a bit of card.

I made these christmas cards at the weekend when I realised that not only had I not started writing my cards, but I really hadn't made anywhere near enough. so these cards are the result of panic.
The swirl is from Inka and I stamped it with versafine3 times without re-inking. The dove is also by Inka, and I have glittered that. The words are from a christmas set by rubber stampede.
these have to be the simplest cards I've made in a long time, but needs must!!

as the main image is a bird I am entering it for Daring cardmakers this week

Daring Cardmakers-frills

The theme this week for daring cardmakers is frills. I hope this is acceptable. I'm not a very frilly person, but I thought it was a good opportunity to use this german scrap lace that has been sitting in my drawer for ages. I stayed with the gold theme and made gold wings by stamping onto gold mirror card, and chucking some thick gold embossing powder on the background. all stamps are Paper Artsy.
It's another 3"x3" piece for the woman swap (the swap required two pieces)

daring card makers - photo

the dare this week is to use a photograph on a card. This is a baby card I have made using a photo of baby feet. it is for a new baby boy called fraser. unfortunately the scan doesn't show up the silver mats too well.

moments in time

This is for a tag swap with the theme memories. The background is by paper artsy and it's coloured with watercolours. I added a little clock at the top. made with a stamp and a dome sticker to emphasise the "moments". so I have decided to make it my first entry into Daring Card Makers which has the theme "time"
