Wednesday all day.

I can't believe that my two weeks
annual leave from work is almost over.
It has been a busy two weeks
and I could use another two
weeks to get all I need done.

A few makes to share...

This notebook cover using tilda
is my take on a sketch by Dawny P
for Just Magnolia.

The main papers are Bo Bunny & a
wee bit of basic grey from my scrap box.

~~~~~T~~~~~
My card uses the same image,
I don't own this stamp but
it is one of my favorites.
I am entering it in colour throwdown
who want red, pumpkin and olive.
It is also my take on another Dawny P's
sketch this time from over at Papertake weekly.
I am also entering it in
my time to craft
who want it looks like Autumn.
The backing papers are
downloads that I forgot I had.
~~~~~T~~~~~

This card is for a friend who wants
it for a good friend on hers.

It is Stella from Bugaboo
I made the 'Me' background,
it is a standing joke between the
two girls.

I am entering it in a spoonful of sugar
who want spots and stripes.

~~~~~T~~~~~
Wednesday is Puppy Class night,
Bella is not as keen as Poppy
is to participate at class.
When Andrew appears Bella
sits and cries and wont do anything
but run over and sit at his side.
She is smart, but thrawn,
and does what she wants,
when she wants.....
Mind you, they both know
they are not meant to go
up on the sofa after being out
in the rain..........
*sigh*
two four one!
It seems I have failed to keep Poppy amused!
Despite spending 6 hours with Brodie yesterday.
Not only have I been spending
too much time online....
I also had the cheek to do some crafting!
This bagalope started as an envelope
and is now containing images
for a fellow blogger.
I have two makes
for one person
that qualifys for 4 challenges!
I stamped it using my fave flower
from a See D collection.
I used versa fine in sepia.
The girls at Saturday Challenge are looking
for flowers this week.
Sizzex cut tages, stamped with same flower
but used gold ink on brown tag
and bronze and gold on the pearl card.
I am entering it at My Time to Craft
who want anything but a card!
The card to go with it has Tilda Witch on it.
I love this stamp.
It seems a Witch is not just for Halloween.
The spider and bats are peel offs.
The black card has a blue core.
My new spider webb embossing folder
was used and the paper was torn.
A black gem is in the centre.
It is also being entered in
A spoonful of sugar
who want touchy feely.
The embossing is touchy feeling and being
embossed means I can enter it in
Creative Card Crew Challenge.
The pink post it is to keep it a surprise!!!
This wee bat is stuck down with silicon glue
and a strip of acetate to make it stick out.
Tilda's dress is more grey than black as
I am still not great at colouring in black.
puppy stamps and stuff.
Thanks for all your comments about Poppy Dog.
She is all better now, back to being cheeky !
I have taken two days from work this week.
This working lark is seriously getting
in the way off my crafting time......
This is a long post.
So make yourself comfy!
Here are some of my makes.
This wee box came with flowers in it,
I can't remember which flowers it was....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This box is decorated to match
a card I made earlier this week,
the flowers are Bo Bunny,
I have filled it with goodies,
and it will be posted to a mate
as soon as I get organised!

The wee bee brad is Poppicrafts
and the sentiment is See D Stamps.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This one is very different from
what I normally make.
But I like it.
The stamps are Stampin Up
I like the fact the centre
is just the buffed cards stock.
I used sukura pens to glitter the stamps.
I used the cuttle bug on the blue card stock.
The ribbon flower is made with Poppicraft ribbons,
I was thinking about entering it in the
competition over there to use ribbons
as the main feature, but I am going
to have another go at this challenge.
I am entering it in Cute Card Thursday
who want flowers on the cards this week.
ABC Challenge this week is
J for jagged edge.
I have tied wee knots in the ribbon on the left
and used that to hold the beads in place.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This one is not for any challenge.
The petals are vellum on
a punched out large flower.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just love this new stamp of mine!
It is beautiful but I am struggling to colour it
as well as I would like.
I have tired a couple of ways now.
This card has it embossed with versamark
and then heat embossed with glittery black powder.
Then shaded it with grey pro markers.
It is perfect for Creative Card Crew's
Monochrome Madness.
A spoonful of sugar's challenge this week is
To use die's or punches.
I have used punches to cut the flowers
and my nesties to cut & emboss the matting.
The flowers are vellum and glitter card.
The wee sentiment stamps are again SU.
Beady Jan suggested that I tired stamping it
on black or dark card and then
embossing with silver or grey powder.
I tired but I think the stamp is to detailed.
But thank you Beady Jan for the idea.
Thanks to everyone who left me tips
and ideas about colouring in black.
it is a work in progress!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Last one I promise!
Over at Just Christmas & Birthday cards
Janina has done a lovely sketch.
I have used a house mouse image
that Vanessa has sent to me.
The wee snowflake is is a See D Stamp,
used with silver ink.

The ribbon is also Poppicrafts .

OK, I am away to go see what you have all been up to.

Much love

Poorly Poppy

Poor Poppy has not been so well this weekend.
Think she had eaten something she shouldn't have done!
She was sick a few times but still wanted to eat.....
But when she did eat she was sick.....

So poor Pops has been on no food,
then just rice and then rice & chicken
for a day or so while till her tummy settled down.
She was not happy about this at all!!

She did however play very energetically
with Brodie yesterday!

Brodie's mum loved her framed photo!
And Shirleyanne is also doing Weight watchers
so she didn't get an Easter Egg either....
we gave her a jar of our home made
pickled onions that she loves!!!
not your usual Easter gifts but hey hoe!

Got a couple of cards done,
but missed the deadlines.

This one was from
Just Christmas & Birthday cards
by my lovely friend Mada....
I am cross at myself for not getting it emailed on time
but they do have a new sketch out today!!
It being entered in Colour Create who want
Chocolate , Coffee & Cream.
they gave added option of distressing,
but I forgot!!! LOL

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I loved the colour combo so much
I did this card using similar shades.
I tried using distressing inks and H20's
to add colour after stamping it up
with brown versa fine.
I would love to be able to do it
as a black lab puppy like Poppy.
But have no success in colouring in black at all.
Any tips ??
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This last one is from sketch & stash challenge
from last week, I loved it and will use it again.
Too late with this one as well.
But it will be getting popped in the post
to someone special soon.

Cute Card Thursday want
Marshmallows and Chocolate
or pink and brown on cards this week.
This beautiful image was sent to me by Vanessa.
Thanks you my lovely !

Can anyone tell me.....
if you are not part of the Magnolia Club,
can you still buy these spring ones anywhere?

Hope you are all well.
Am off to be, early start for me,
and a 5.30 am alarm for Andrew.....

1, 2, 3!

Hope you are all having a lovely day,
We have been waiting on someone popping into to see us.
So I stayed at home, and they never turned up!

But it ment since my house work was all done,
I could spend the afternoon

CRAFTING!!!

Woooo hooooo!

Penny Black girls are looking for us to get dotty this week!

I started off with this piece of backing paper from papermania,

and ended up with this..........

I have no idea what happened there!
The backing paper is now from the FF range....
I know I don't like those wee bears when I use them,
but I do love their backing paper pads!!
It also is my take on Sketch Saturdays Challenge #34.

One Stop Challenge wanted you to "Craft like an Egyptian!"
or any other country!
So I used two image's that Sammi sent me.
Tilda in Paris! and the Eifle tower.

It also has hearts in it so can be entered for
Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge.
The hearts are from Debbie's Faith series which are found at Crafty Pad
I am not happy about the way the "love" sentiment came out
so may have to patch that bit up tomorrow.

The last card is using wrapping paper I got on a Lush Gift Box.
It is hand made and smells yummy!
But what to use with it?
It was just too nice to throw away.

I used another image from my lovely pal Sammi,
all the way from Auz!
Can you guess which one???

And the sentiment is from my pal Trixi
who has a new blog.....go on nip over and say hello!

I used a bit of acetate to make it a springer type of thingy.
OK ,....so that's not the actual correct term for it.....
But hey ho!

Have a lovely evening xxxx

To do and done

So after getting my craft room all tidied up
and cleared away Xmas stuff all into one place,
I thought I will have a wee look and see what the usual challenges are up to
and maybe get some inspiration for the cards I need for up coming Birthdays.

OH MAN!!! I am a little bit overwhelmed with how many I want to try
and how many I will get done!

I also need to get two image swap done, two wallet cards to pop them into.
I have a few Birthday cards to do.......
and two cards for a ribbon challenge I have entered.....

This is becoming a to do list.....

Here is what I have done in the last few days.....

First one is for Sketch Saturday #33
I love Brown and Blue together and I thought it was a bit plain at first
but I kinda like the simpleness.

This sketch from One Stop Craft Challenge
is going to be for my God Daughter's daughter
Brooke who is 2....man that makes me feel old!
It was to have buttons or brads on it.

Tilda is sitting on a 2 but i think I should have made it a bigger 2....ach well.
The Tilda stamp is fairly new to me, it was a gift from Natalie, which I haven't used much, she is ment to have wee holly leaves on her bunchies, but I trimmed them off.
I know she is holding a Christmas decoration....But she is so pretty!!!
The buttons were part of my Santa pressies and the stash is all the rest.
I love the daisy stamp on it, coloured with sukra.

The Penny Black Challenge is to use embossing which the pink background is.
I decided to use it to make the wallet for an image swap so that's why it has Trixi's name on it.

I think the image itself came from Natalie cheers babes!
It is made using the first sketch on Becky's new challenge blog Sketch and Stash Challenge
I didn't mean it to have so much pink on it, and the large flower was not the shade I wanted
but it was all I had. And it looks ok.

And last be no least.....at Tag your it they want you to show off your new Christmas goodies.
I got my new cuttle kids Penguin die, my hubby went to the Falklands almost 14 years ago.
We had not been married very long and he send me a penguin soft toy every month.....for 6 months. He came home two days before our first wedding anniversary!
So I made this for him!!

My Fave of 2008

Dawn has taken on the challenge and challenged us all to look at the work
we have done in 2008 and pick our 10 faves....
I thought it would be easy to do.

In no particular order.......

Firstly is the first ever scarp page I did.
Emma Elfie helped me and it was for my friend Bunty.
The beautiful young woman in it Laura, died this summer.
Aged just 24 , two weeks before she was due to marry her soul mate Richard.

This was my first ATC, Emma also helped me with this.
I love the colours on it with the contrasting papers on the leaf.
It was also one of my first cuttlebug dies.

This was a card that was way out of my usual style.
I love all the different papers on it.
And the saying on it , was something Laura used to say.

Next a recent make.
The Holly King, a pagan card for Yule
made for my Dear friends Nan & Paul.

Our niece Robyn got engaged to Paul this spring.
This exploding box was full of pictures of her and Paul.
The rose in the centre too ages to make.

There HAD to be a Poppy Dog one!
This was one of my fave Xmas cards.
With guard dog Poppy reporting for duty sir!

Friends of ours got married at the start of December.
This card followed a sketch and I wasn't sure about the rings on it.
But the lace is actually spare lace left over from making my wedding dress!

An early make.
The butterfly is a brooch I made.
I love butterflies, I have one as a tattoo on my shoulder.

A lady at work became a Nanna and this is a book to celebrate
her Grand daughter Matilda's birth.

Each page has details of her weight,
or the date or the
place of birth.

And lastly a card that looks quiet cute from the outside....

And inside is the nativity scene.
I actually changed the star inside
to a bigger one that Sammi gave me.

It took ages to get everything to fit
and the donkey and lambs come out
and act as stabilisers for the card.
Mary, Joesph and Baby Jesus pull to the centre.
I must admit.
I thought it had three wise men and two shepherds.
and we almost had two Josephs on the card......

Looking back.....many of my cards have green or brown on them....
I do love green and browns!

Have enjoyed this looking back at the last year.
But its been so much fun as you guys have done this year with me.

Many hugs my lovelies.

Jingle Bells Tilda

This card is not my usual style, but love how it turned out.

I printed off the Jingle Bells paper which I found online on a mottled creamy brown paper & tried to distress it a bit .
Andrew asked "how did you make it all scruffy?"
The scrolled edges I have seen done by Emma and Debs.
So thanks for that girls!

I started out trying to make something for Weekend Taggers Challenge this week which is Brown and Aqua.
I found the beautiful aqua & gold hand made paper I had bought ages ago.....
but in the end didn't want to chop it up! how sad is that!!!
I think I have another small bit I will use for the tag challenge....

I am going to enter it for One Stop Craft Challenge. This week Guest DT Claire has asked for buttons or bells.... The teddy on it started life as a Button too!

And I am entering it for Artzy Girlz Challenge who are asking what your fave medium is ...
well it used to be watercoloured pencils but now it has to be my promarkers....
I am really enjoying the results form them now I am getting used to them.
I love how you can colour the flowers with promarkers, just as well as I had no aqua flowers to go on here.

I also have doen a beter job of adding a wee spot of colour to Tilda's cheeks using blush promarker , it did look a bit like she was having a hot flush when I tried it before with a darker pink! Less is more I think!

AND last week they wanted frames.....if you look above it on some of the featured cards....
It's my Poppy in in the window frame that I entered last week!! Woooooo Hoooooo!

How could you not love Poppy-dog!!! Everyone dose ......And boy she knows that!

I am not sure the flower is very Christmassy but I do like the card I ended up with.

I think I have made and sent all I need to now.....so need to stop making Christmas cards now.

2 cards, 5 challenges.

Have managed to make two cards this evening,
while my hubby makes a lovely supper.

I am enter both of them for a couple of different challenges,
this one is Poppy dog with a bonnie pink ribbon and a thank you charm hanging from it.
It moves when you pick up the card.

The first challenge is for Cute Card Thursday #39 this week being hearts.
ABC Challenge is T for three.
So here we have three colours on the card, cream, pink & white. Three hearts, using three different patterns of card, and three brads.

The weeks Challenge on This Thursday is Mistletoe and wine using either images or their colours. So I have gone for green and white of mistletoe and red for wine.
It is using my new Tilda stamp. I love her fancy shoes!!

A spoonfull of sugar is THANK YOU Cards.
So either card will do nicely thank you very much!

Paper take weekly is giving you a recipe to use on the card,

1 ribbon
2 rectangles and
3 small, round embellishments (zooms, eyelets, brads, buttons, gems etc!)

so yeaup.....one ribbon, and two rectangles a cream and a green one.....and three buttons.
I used some wire on the buttons and some fake pearls on the white button.

Tuesday, 11 November 2008

laptops back!!

Lap top is home! and all fixed! wooooo hooooooo!
So time to up-date what I have been working one the last two days.....

This one is for Magnolia V's Stampavie challenge which this week is clean and simple.
You can use only three colours.

So here is my cream, blue and dark brown.
It is really not my usual style but I think it looks ok.

This one is using a soft centre stamp from Sugar Nellie stamp that I got in an image swap.
The sketch is by Dawny P and is for Papertake Weekly Challenge.

And this one is using the template I bought at card class the other week.
I have used cut out ivy leaves instead of holly and under the yellow post it note is a tiny envelope that has our friends new address on it, obviously I don't want to advertise that here.

And lastly is a wee sneeky peep at a card I have done as DT member for Crafty Muse....
which are safely under wraps for the time being,

but go check out the blog and come and join us on this fortnights challenge. xxx

Am off to go get Emma for card class. Will check out everyones blogs when I get home xxx
