pink feathers

I found these lovely pink feathers online and I wanted to use them to add something to a page for Laura.
Pink Feathers are and will become very important to her family who miss this Angel very much.

I did this first page, but feel it is too fussy.
I am not sure if it is the backing paper which I love,
or the fact I have too many different shades on pink on it,
or have I used to many feathers??

The pictures of Laura are amazing!

This one I am more happy with.

It is very simple but Laura is stunning so it didn't need much.

I want to use the same pictures in a few different LO's to see what I get.

Oh I have 195 more shocking pink feathers if anyone wants some!!!

for Laura's Cousin

I have made scrap pages before for my friend Bunty's niece Laura
who died a few months ago aged 24 , just days before she was due to marry her soul mate.
Laura died from genetic lung cancer, she was a very healthy, non smoker aerobics instructor
and her family are setting up a charity in her memory called Pink Mackenzie.

The pages I did for Bunty have been seen by family member's and Yvonne ,
Laura's cousin had left a lovely comment on my bebo page about them.

So I made these two pages for Yvonne

The more colourful one is for Yvonne's daughter Amy who was very close to Laura.

I have made them similar in layout to keep them linked and also used the large flowers with falling petals .

I love how they seem to blow away in the wind....

Amy just loves Laura's wee dog Jess.

Talking of dogs.......if you were a Labrador....

and you came in on a cold day.....
and found a pile of warm towels out of the tumble dryer waiting to be folded.....
what would you do???

Of course you would make a snuggly bed out of them!!!

for a special person......with love

I have spoken before about Laura, she was truly an amazing person who fought hard but sadly lost her fight against lung cancer in July, aged just 24....

She was way too young to die, and had way too many more things to do and so much more love to give.
Laura's family are setting up a charity in her name...Pink Mackenzie.

I made some scrapbook pages with some pictures of Laura to give to my lovely friend Bunty who is Laura's Aunt.
I didn't want to post pictures on here until I had delivered them to Bunty, but for one reason and another we didn't manage to get together till this evening.
We had a lovely meal with our Hubby's and I really enjoyed spending time with them.

This is the first scrap book page I ever made.
Emma helped me, both with the layout and with emotional support....
It was sad making these pages, but in a way it was almost like saying good bye to a lovely person I knew too briefly and only online and though her family. xx

I am very proud of these pages....
So here they are......

This one is for Bunty's daughter Nicola, who will miss her special cousin,
who she was very close to, spent family holidays with and loved like a sister and a best friend....

This one I am keeping....just sums up the fun that Laura and Rich shared in their love together.
It is really unfair they had so little time together, but they had more in thier short time than many couples have in relationships that last years......

There are many out there on blog land who are having difficult times,
heart broken over lost loved ones, worried about their own or loved ones health problems....
Life is hard and too often too short.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

hippy hugs and love xxxx

busy bee's & blog candies!!

Had a lovely afternoon with Emma & Belle,
we did some crafting, and had lots of giggles and laughs!
I know now why she has been so successful at craft clubs!
She is so easy to learn from.
Has a great style of teaching.....
( is that what you told me to say Emma? Did I get it right?)
*ducks* don't hit me again!!!!
I have a whole list of stuff I have seen on her blog that I want to know how to make!

Also did some Christmas cards for the troops....
and did some thank you cards.......to appear her soon enough!

And made this for Sammi's bloggy challenge!

Needed to do three things.....

1 ) make a purple sparkily card, well the fairy which is one of Sammi's is painted in a sparkle sukra pen. The green ribbon is shimmery, the purple card & backing Purple paper is shimmery........and there is silver embossing powder on the flowery backing card I made with chalk inks.......do you think thats sparkily enough Sammi?

2) list the blog candy here....done that......
3) add her to your blog roll...well I have her on my list of blogs I read....is that the same thing?

I also finished Laura's pages and will take them To Bunty on Thursday....
i have made six.
I will post about them after I have delivered them.
I am very proud of them.

Happy Birthday Bunty

Yesterday was my dearest friend Bunty's Birthday.
I didn't post this yesterday as I wanted to make sure the postie had been,
but since I didn't use elf post it got there just fine!

I send her this CD card with a quote that her beautiful niece Laura has on her bebo.
As you may know Laura died last month, and I was really torn weather or not to put it on the CD.

It sums Laura up.
And the amazing message she has left on all our hearts.

To love is Nothing.
To be loved is Something.
To love & be loved is Everything.

I made a few wee simple note cards and sent them in my first ever wallet card.

Bunty is an amazing women who fights for everyone who needs help!
She is an inspiration to me and many other who know and love her,

She was a tower of strength to Laura & Rich, and now to everyone who mourns Laura,
even though her own heart is breaking with her loss.

pink for Laura....

You know when you meet someone, in real life or online,
and you know they are amazingly special?
They touch your life, and most of the time
I am sure they have no idea of the footprint they have left in your heart?
Laura was such a person.
She loved life, she loved fun, she loved pink....
She touched so many peoples lives.
She was loved by friends, family, and people who had just met her!
She was courageous all through her fight against lung cancer.
She took it by the horns. Did interviews to raise awareness of lung cancer....

Last night, just two months away from turning 25....and less than two weeks
before from her pink, black &
white wedding to her soul mate Rich....
Laura died.

I haven't known Laura that long,
but Laura was and always will be, such an inspiration to me.
Her love of life, love for others, for Rich, for her family & Friends.
For her wee animals, was an amazing gift to see.

I struggled with cards for her family, there are no words really.

I kept them similar using the Celtic love knots, as her love was never ending,
binding her to her loved ones forever.
With pink, cause she was Pink Mackenzie!

Its not the years you live
but the love you leave behind that you should use to measure your life!

And Laura Mackenzie you will leave so much of that!
It will be truly unmeasurable!

Is Heaven pink already?

sweet dreams Laura!
