Happy Inky to me.

Having a fabulous extra long weekend off work,
and spending it doing something fun every day!

I spent all day on Wednesday with my Hubby,
nice lunch out and some Xmas shopping.
Thursday was a fun day with my Bestie, doing Girlie stuff
and out for lunch in a new French place.
Friday was a days shopping with my Bestie
including updating my wardrobe with smaller sizes!
We both had a fab evening with my
crafty Cousin Joyce.
Saturday morning, cousin Joyce and I spent
 the afternoon crafting at The Papeterie with Kath.
And we made these fab cards!

 A meal afterwards with some of the Girlies
from the The Papeterie which involved
lovely food and even better company
was the perfect way to spend my 42nd Birthday.

Today brought my younger brother and his three kids visiting.
Our Poppy dog just loved all the fuss.

 Bella enjoyed being brushed and hoovering up the
lunch the kids managed to spill!
A job Miss Boo took very seriously!

I was not that delighted to discover the
girls were using my brush to pamper Bella Boo!

Afterwards one of our beautiful nieces and her partner took their dog
 and her sister's dog over to go walking with out dogs.

Cake and coffee and a chat afterwards
was a great way to chill out on a Sunday evening.

I don't go back to work till Thursday and already have
two more lunch dates booked up!

Hope you are all having a fab weekend!

sick as a dog

I made these hangers yesterday,
and had planned to go to
the craft shop and get some more
to make for pressies,
but woke up this morning
as sick as a dog!

So no more hangers to be made this week.

This one is painted with a base coat of
Anne Sloan chalk paint,
which is just a treat to use.

And this one,
is stained using Tim Holtz inks.
The ink ended up looking
green rather than the blue it is
if you use it on paper.
But I liked it anyway.

The main stamp under the sentiment
is a penny black that I found,
after it was long lost
in the midden
formally known as my craft area....

The idea is based on a project from the last
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun day,
which was so much fun.

well...
Hope you are all doing good this Monday xx

It's been a while......

As you can imagine, it has been difficult
adjusting to loosing my Mum.
It is true that you don't know
what you have till it's gone.
I haven't done much crafting lately,
have gone to a few craft days,
including two amazing GJWHF days.

But today, I want to share with you
a memory box I made for my Mum.

If you are on my Facebook
you will have seen this already.

There are a fair few photo's.

The lid.

The papers are layered on white card
stock that I inked using distressing inks.

I stamped the image too far up
so you don't see it very well once
the lid is on.

The lid, my favourite bit.

I was really struggling with this new blogger,
Thank goodness Pam told me how to
change it back to the old layout.

Anyway..... enough of my rambles,
how have you been ??

a piece of work

I fell in love with making canvas
pieces after doing one last year
at the first
Girls Just Wanna have fun
with Kath, Debbi & Anne.

The photos are again nae great,
as they say round here.

The first three here, were Christmas gifts.

This one was my Mother in Law, and very inspired
by the one we did at the girls day.

~~~~~T~~~~~
This one is made using various bits from our
niece Robyn and her new husband Paul's wedding.
Including the menu, invitation,
the seed packet all the ladies at the wedding
were given for favours,
and some raffia held the menu scrolled up.
The birds were used to decorate the
hall, there was a bird theme
the whole way through the wedding.
I edged them with inks,
added stitching and gems for eyes.
~~~~~T~~~~~

The next one is using photos
of a lovely friends wee girl.
What a beautiful wee honey she is too!

The last one,
is kinda personal to me.
It is representative to changes
in my life.

I really enjoyed making all of these.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.
Wishing you all many good things in 2012.

Yule Baubles.

I just adored this Xmas card
we made at Kate's card class the other week.
The stamping up punch and stamps
are really classy, and the colour
combo is one I love for Xmas.

Now I am not a fan of Xmas,
for many reasons.
It tends to be a huge stress factor for me.
You would think the fact I have not made
hardly any cards by this late date
would be stressfull....
But I am not worring about it
at all this year.

Anyway, I spent the afternoon,
stamping & punching.
I tried out various different inks
and a few types of card.

My fave ink turned out to be my new
distressing Xmas inks.

This was my Wednesday workdesk today.

So......taking inspiration from this pretty
backing paper I have been hording for some time,
I went with an unusual colour combo.

I really liked this, and have someone
special in mind for it already.

This one also has a new home in mind.
I tired to keep it simple and clean,
but am not sure it is not missing something.

Last one, and it may end up in the bin.
I can not decided if I like
it or it looks messy.......

The white snowflakes are embossed,
the ink is the same xmas distressing inks.

Hope you are all grand.

distressed or messed....so not sure

I adored the canvas we made at the
girls just wanna have fun day
with Kath, Anne & Debbi.

I got a few canvas frames to play with,
and this is my first attempt at one by myself.

I used Annie Sloan chalk paint,
this is cream, but I think I prefer the
whiter shade we used at the workshop.
Next time I think I will take the whiteness
away from the canvas.

The finished piece is made a
friend and it is her Dad
in the photo
when he was three.
I scanned it to make a birthday
card and had two spare copies
so had a wee play round with one.

Hope you are all grand

Tuesday mutters....

I am hating blogger tonight!
I published this post earlier this evening,
came back to check on something,
and discovered the text had
all disappeared!!!

First card is a never ending card.
You can see one in action
by LOTV here.

It starts here...

opens into this....

And then into this....

and ends up opening into this....

It can stand alone like this too.

I used Stampin Up and SeeD stamps.
the papers were all from my scrap box.

A lovely fellow crafter at work,
who I altered this notebook for,
showed me how to do this type of card,
and brought this notebook and images in
for me! Thank you !
( I know she has my blog address!)

I love how the hair and pig tails have
been decoupaged.

~~~~~T~~~~~
This card is for another lady at work,
her new baby Granddaughter
Ami was born yesterday!
I may have O'd on the gingham,
but I love it on baby cards!
The rabbit is a Cotton Bunny
from Sugar Nellie.
~~~~~T~~~~~

The next card is a challenge card
for One Stop Crafters Challange.
who want some distressing....
Blogger loosing all my text is
distressing me!!!

The flowers are See D stamps,
the text is my new Penny Black.
I have added the person's name to it,
but not sure if she reads my blog,
and since I only posted this today,
she might see it before it gets to her.

FINALLY!

I LOVED the new Twilight film,
saw Eclipse on Saturday and
want to go and see it again now!
It was the best of all three films.
But not sure what the stylists have
done with the Vampires hair!!!
Jasper had various styles
from a 80's shaggy perm...
to a blow dry and set!

But my boys were as gorgeous as ever!

Much love and vampire kisses....

Worried....

Two cards from one stamp.
A new release from Sugar Nellie,
a new artist called Kathy Hare.
This wee sweetie is callede Worried,
I am not sure about the name
but I loved this stamp.

I have used my distress inks
to colour the wee honey in.
The backing papers on this one
is basic gray.

I used the same stamp but tried to
make her look more girlie.
I hoped she looked vintage.
I want to enter her for ABC ~ Vintage.

I did think about inking the flowers,
but I wanted to bring out
the white of the dots
in the backing paper.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beautiful weather here.
Time to take Poppy-dog
and Bella Boo swinming in
the local river.
These were taken yesterday,
after a long play session.
I love how they cuddle up
and spend most of their sleeping time
lying next to each other.
Hope you are doing ok.
fish & bits.
Had two requests for cards
from a lady at work.
The first one is for her son,
who loves fishing...
so that was easy enough.
The second one was for her neighbour...
I find it difficult to make cards
for someone else to give to someone
I don't know....so I asked.
"tell me what he likes?"
"Well he likes smoking fish in his garden...."
It seems he smokes fish to preserve them...
But she loved my take on it.
Just as well...
I know they are both similar
but I loved the paper that was
left over from the scrap page I made
my Dad's fishing page from.
They are also quiet similar in colours
as I thought it was fishy colours.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This one is for my Mother-in -Law
who the family call Mop.
I am really into using green just now.
I am trying my distressing inks to colour again,
smudged a bit on his cheek
but I did like the rest of it.

Poppy has been poorly lately.
She suffers from colitis, and
as long as were are really strict with her
diet is usually really well.
But she found something nasty when
out for a walk.....best not to ask what.
And had a wee flair up of tummy problems.

So a trip to the vets, 3 injections,
some antibiotics and a oral syringe of
stuff to soothe her gut were prescribed.

I know you don't share medication....

But Bella doesn't....

It wont do her any harm,
they both love it!

Poppy's puppy is growing fast.

They love to play,
Bella has no interest in the small puppy bed,
unless Poppy is in it!

I know the wrong dog is
in the wrong bed

But they are happy!
Hope you are well.

so lovin this stamp

Well that was quick!
I spent hours online looking for this
stamp after using it at card class on Tuesday.

By the power of ebay it arrived this morning!
I had used the stamp I borrowed from June
to stamp up a few images using different
colours & types of inks.

I did the triple embossing on a heart again
but used a glittery red powder which didn't
work as well, and I lost the deep red I wanted.
I used my distressing inks to colour.

This one is for a friend at work,
again I triple embossed,
yes,
you will be seeing this done a fair bit!
I do prefer the embossing with silver powder.
I used versamark to water mark the
blue card, which is SU .

I do love the detail in this stamp.

Too much is not always a good thing....
I spent ages colouring this distressing ink
and then added sukura pen....

This might just might just end up in the bin!

Be back later with a sneaky peak
of my DT cards.
