Crafty Ribbons,

Have you been to see what gorgeous ribbons
Crafty Ribbons sell???
I have bought some of their fab ribbons and also took
part in their First Ribbon Challenge.

VALENTINES

You were sent 10 free bundles of ribbons,
each bundle will contained metre lengths
of all the new ribbons.
In return for these ribbons you needed to
make two valentine cards from the ribbons.
The ribbons must be used to create the card
NOT just as a bow or a trim

The ribbons are beautiful & they are such great quality.

So here are my two cards,
and they are ready to be posted off tomorrow to
Crafty Ribbons.

This first one I used soft velvet ribbon
folded to make the frame.
Used double sided tape to hold it in place
and brads to fix it and look pretty!

The creamy backing paper has small flecks of pinky fibres.
And the love you heart button came with the ribbons,
along with some puffy silver and gold hearts,
some beaded strings and some other bits & bobs.

I used a thicker ribbon that has a gold tint to it folded it
and trimmed it to make a heart shape.
added more brads from my own stash.

I did think about stamping on the back ground,
but TBH the backing paper is very pretty close up
and the gold flecks in the heart are very pretty
when you see the card as it is.

My second card I love!!
I must admit I would like to keep this one for Andrew,
maybe I will make him a similar card.

I free hand cut out a heart,
then cut another one so i was left with a heart frame.
I wrapped a thiner beautiful ribbon that
has small white hearts on it.
and I love the frayed edges at the two points I cut.

The heart button came with the ribbons ,
and there was also a couple of white ones too.

I used silver thread to hand the button from the heart
and stuck it all down , slightly raised up
with silicon glue and the buttons swings around.

Again I have kept this card fairly simple.
I love the second ribbon with Be My Valentine on it.

The white card stock is slightly hammered.
And the base card is red shimmery card.

They are now offering Ribbons for their second Challenge

Shaker Card ~ Faith

This weeks challenge over on Crafty Pad is to use mixed media,

and this week you can use any stamp you want ,

so if you haven't been joining in cause you don't have a Faith stamp...
now's your chance!!!

If you do have a Faith stamp and you join us
your name will be entered twice in the prize draw!

To be honest I wasn't sure about this mixed media......
But in fact it is just using all the things I like to use on cards!
Just a fancy name for it!

You can use paint, ink, embossing, embellishments, journaling, ribbons....

anything that takes your fancy!

so I used the acetate sheet that Faith Blowing hearts arrived on,
or you could use stayzon ink to stamp her on acetate.
Use foam pads or strips to make an edge
all the way round the acetate under the frame.
Add your shaking material liek teh hearts, or stars or sugar.
Make sure there are no gaps.
place a back on to seal it all in.
Apply to card......
you have made a shaker card!

I used gold ink to smudge all over the red shimmery card base.
And then a card frame that my lovely mate Sammi sent me.
I smudged gold ink over that as well.
I love the gold ink pad..I used it on the biggest flower on the set of three,
and on the button love heart !

I love shaker cards!
I used small confetti metal hearts inside

The buttons and gems and pearls are all dotted on.
I tend to be vet symmetrical with my cards and
this one was me really trying something new.

You can buy Faith stamps over at Crafty Pad.
There is as always as wee prize for the winner of this challenge!

Come and join in with us!
