"I Create Interview" ~ Mandy Lynne Photography
I create... photography & art. A glimpse into what I am thinking and dreaming about... weaving my favorite colors, style & patterns into something I love and hopefully others will enjoy too.
I love... moments of pure contentment. Hazy summer evenings, the smell of cookies baking, vintage style, discovering new things, applying the finishing
touches on a painting, the last stitch on a handmade item...
the thrill of capturing my vision.
I dream... of more hours in a day, going on a year long RV adventure with my family,
and knowing that I am doing my best to create a happy home.

Are you a fan of Mandy's? What do you appreciate about her work?
Thanks so much for sharing, Mandy! You're an inspiration to so many. xo

"I Create" with Machel Spence
"I create... moments in nature that most people walk right past, you know...those tiny pieces of life beneath your feet. A lot of people go through their whole lives looking up or straight ahead...I look down. I seek out the darkest thickets, the gnarliest piles of decomposing logs and the place where only flies and slugs seem to go. I search for fungi with the reverence of a child and I sometimes even get lost there.
I love... mushrooms. As most people who know me will agree, I have a bit of a problem with not being able to stay away from them. I spend on average about 2 hours or more in the woods on a daily basis searching for mushrooms and other fungi to photograph. I have found nearly 400 different species in the forest around Washington including Mt. Rainier and the Northern Cascades. Not only have I discovered the importance of fungi to the environment around us as vital decomposers, but they also play an extremely important role in mycorrhizal associations with plants and trees. We could not live on this earth without them.
I dream... of a time when everyone everywhere will have complete respect for the forest and the connection we have with it. We are not disconnected because we live in concrete houses, it's all around us. It's in everything we touch everyday. I hope my daughters children will have plenty of forest left to walk in years from now."

Machel, your wonder for the simple beauty in nature is an example to all of us. And your photos...WOW, so amazing!

"I Create" with Irena Sophia
"I create.....every one of my drawings have a personal story behind them. It does not have to be a particular narrative, rather a certain mood, a glimpse. Sometimes lost memories resurface and I try to express transitory experience of it. It is at the same time complicated and simple. I, on purpose, keep things minimal not to interfere with the observer's own associations or emotions. Emotions are important to me to have certain purity and simplicity. Inner silence is important to me as in it there is a room for so much life.
I love.....I love to draw. I always carry a notebook and pencils. I love gardening and nature.
I dream.....I rather have a very simple dream, to be happy with the people I love deeply."

Thankyou, Irena! This was beautiful and inspiring.
Note: This is the last day to win Lynda Naranjo's print. Just leave a comment for any featured artist to have your name entered. :)

"I Create" with Joy Stallard from Snazzy Drawers
Her Shop ~ Snazzie Drawers, Her Blog ~ Distinct Design
Finally! I think I've got the hang of posting photos using my new blog format. Thanks so much to Erin from Fresh 365, Anna from In Honor of Design, and Rachel from Lovely Clusters for all their help and patience.
Enjoy meeting designer Joy Stallard from Snazzydrawers! Here are her answers for the "I Create" Interview:
"I create... because that is exactly what I was born to do. I feel "home" when I am creating no matter where I am, what the world around me is doing. If I am not creating, then I am thinking about creating.
"I love... every kind of fabric and especially textures. I adore mixing textures together...something feminine and soft with something unexpected.
I dream... that my two daughters will follow their hearts in their life and pursue their passions no matter what the world or others may tell them is the right thing to do."

Thanks so much, Joy! You are one talented lady and it's great to see the recognition you're receiving for your beautiful designs. xo

"I Create" with I See the Moon Photography
"i create pictures, snapshots of moments, and i hope a little bit of art mixed with a whole lot of love.
i love the old, the worn, the forgotten. i love how new flowers gently embrace old bark on trees in the spring, i love photographing children playing among forgotten old barns. i love the way wind moves fallen petals in the spring, long grass in the summer, grains of sand on empty beaches in the winter. i love the light right before a midwestern storm. i love old weathered docks against soft turquoise water, i love the romance of loons calling at dusk. i love the little truths of childhood and all that my children have given me.
i dream about a long life. i dream about all the moments i hope to be a a part of. i dream about the places i hope to go. i dream of being remembered."

Martha is one of my absolute favorite photographers and her answers touched my heart. And (I hope you won't mind, Martha) I wanted to share a small portion of a message Martha left me on Flickr. at the end of her interview. Here's what she said:
"some of my answers to the i create statements left me frustrated, some of them left me crying. 3 simple little questions, 3 very difficult answers! i finally just answered them as i closed my eyes and wrote. it's crazy you know...i think everyone should take a moment to try and answer those questions. they beautifully put things back into perspective." :)
Soooo, my question to YOU is how would you complete these 3 statements?
I create...
I love...
I dream...
Please feel free to share your answers in the comments section! xo

"I Create" with Chloe and Maddie
Today's "I Create" interview is with Kim Brown from Chloe and Maddie. I fell in love with her shop recently while looking for photography props on Etsy. Her style is so feminine and romantic! Enjoy learning a little bit more about Kim and what inspires her as an individual and as a designer. :)
"I create...a sense of beauty and love. Every piece I create comes from my heart. I just love to see my pieces being worn by others. It's sort of like I am giving them a piece of who I am in my creations. It makes me happy to be making something that makes others feel beautiful, even on their worst hair day!
I love...holding my children. I am most creative when I hold my babies and rock them to sleep. It is then that I feel the rush of creativity and I am always anxious to put that creativity to use in making a headpiece. It's similar to waking up from the best dream ever and frantically searching around for paper and pen to write it all down.
I dream...of being in my 80's and still having the mental and physical capabilities to do what I love, and that is to create things that others cherish and love as well."
♥
Kim
