COLORFUL WORLD ... WINTER IN THE WOODS

You could plop me down in this photo right now and I'd be very happy.  Well, maybe add a roaring fire, some good friends, and marsh mellows on a stick and that it would be the perfect setting!

I love how the warm, neutral, and cool tones all play a part in the natural world.  And photographer, *krissi*, did a beautiful job at capturing the chill and beauty of an icy Winter day.

COLORFUL WORLD - A SNOWY DAY

Good morning and happy Monday!  Hope you enjoyed your weekend and if you live in the States, I hope your Thanksgiving was a special one.  My 23 year old daughter made the most amazing dinner and we had a great time together ... we even spent some time outdoors around a cozy log fire.  It was pretty cold out but I love being outside in most kinds of weather ... even for a short time.  :)

What better way to start a Monday than with a sweet photo like the one above?  The greens, blues, and soft purples are so calming!  If if you have some time to look at the photographers website, he's super creative and adds a lot of whimsy to his photo sessions... LOVE.

A BEAUTIFUL BLOG ABOUT COLOR

Good morning! I found the most beautiful blog about color that I wanted to share with you this morning. It's called Criottes Palette Culinaire and I'm floored by the BEAUTY and COLOR I discovered there. I will definitely be adding this blog to my blog roll.  I believe it's written in French, so unless you speak/read French, you might not understand the words, but the photos speak for themselves.  I spent most of my time in my high school French class goofing off and not paying attention.  Too bad ... I could have had an enchanting time reading this lovely blog.  ;)

Good morning, how was your weekend?  My husband got back on Thursday evening after a sad trip to Iowa for his Dad's funeral, so our weekend was spent relaxing, catching up, and shedding some tears together.  It's amazing the hole that's left in your heart when you lose someone.  There's no way to use this topic as a cheery segway into today's post, so I'll just get started!

I've been thinking about color a lot lately ... it adds so much beauty to life!  My husband and I were talking about that just yesterday.  We live in Seattle where the skies are gray 6-8 months out of the year.  It can get pretty dreary around here at times and COLOR can be a definite mood booster.  Whether it's color on your walls, in your decorating, or just color you discover in shops or on a leisurely walk  ... color brightens our lives!

If you haven't heard of this yet, I'm excited to tell you about a tool that the paint company, Sherwinn Williams, offers on their website!  It's called "CHIP IT".  You simply upload an image or give a link to an image's location on the web and their CHIP IT tool will create a custom color palette based on your photo.  Isn't that cool?  I think I could kill a lot of time on this website.  ha, ha.

OUR NEW PAINT COLORS!

Just thought I'd show you our new paint colors!  I was originally thinking of purchasing from Benjamin Moore Paints, but when I saw these colors from Yolo Colorhouse, I knew they were "the ones".  You can purchase these (and many other colors) online or in person at Home Depot!

So, how's everyone doing today?  It's been so quiet this week in the comments section that I'm starting to wonder if anyone's out there!  ;)

Color Palette Generator

Hello! How was your weekend? Ours was really nice! We celebrated January/February birthdays and anniversaries at my oldest daughters house yesterday and it was great to have the whole family together. Missing everyone since we moved over an hour away to the "big city" of Kirkland, Washington. ;)

O.k., it's probably no secret that I love color. In fact, I started Simply Hue almost 3 years ago when I was a color consultant (I went into clients homes and helped them choose a color palette/scheme for their walls and decor). It was a lot of fun but because of my some health issues it became a little too much for me.

This morning I came across Big Huge Labs Color Palette Generator and have been playing around with it for the last half hour. All you need to do if you'd like to try it out is upload a photo/piece of artwork and click on "create". Voila! A color palette is generated based on the colors in the image you uploaded! I know there are other online palette generators that I'm not aware of so if you know of any, please do share them in the comments section below (so I can waste and whittle away even more time!). xo
