Angel
I am Angel. I bonify. The Angel wrote this in Russian for those who did not recognise him.
I met this angel today in one of the Moscow yards near Fadeev street. Looks like he stayed there the whole winter and now is ready to fly somewhere else.
These yellow pipes are gas pipes, they are located outside the houses and coloured yellow for security reasons.

Sundries-Melochevka
I was desperately looking for a photo for today Valentine day and Chinese New Year day, but...
Which means my best wishes to all the ones who celebrate, but today I write about sundries :-).
Sundries - a new word for me. I mean small nonsense things that you buy to please yourselves or to make a small present to a friend. Hopefully, dictionary understood me right.
Yesterday I visited exhibition-sale named "Sundries", which resembled small flea market in one of the old brick buildings of the huge ex-factory (Luis, it is here :-).
There was a youth crowd - smiling, laughing, chatting, selling cheap nonsense to each other, hand-made bijoux (the price of the earrings is about 10USd) and clothes, a lot of home made cakes and drinks and joy of every minute of their communicating. The tradition of garage sales is new to Moscow, this one was a mix of garage sale and a youth's gathering.

You Are Watched
I met this policeman while walking along the Piatnitskaya street (Google map for Luis:-), one of my favourite streets in the city. I plan to place more photos of this street so you will see it with my stuck on it eyes.
The guy is guarding the entrance to the street (it starts between green and yellow buildings at the left), looks frozen but very attentive to the visitors. The view of the street and the clothes of the guardian refer to the times from the beginning of 20th century.
I decided to enclose the other photo for you, to get the full picture. Unfortunately this photo turned dark in my "professional" hands, so I had no courage to put it as a front page. But I am glad the soldier is not alone, he has a friend, the yard-cleaner (dvornik), who also is monitoring the street.

Sand art
The sand art international contest is being hosted in Kolomenskoe park. I visited it a couple days back and took these photos. To tell you the truth, I wasn't really impressed by scultures but I guess they made a good photo-collage.

Automobile man
This piece of public art is located by some driving school (also providing car workshop services) in central Moscow. I guess that iron person is supposed to be made of auto parts, and I rather like its friendly-looking appearance.

As a kind of my contribution to Skywatch Friday, I chose those statues from the roof of Russian State library(former Lenin's). The building was constructed in 1935, there are 22 figures total and all of them are supposed to represent 'Socialistic labour and Knowledge'.

This piece of public art can be found in the backyard of our office - I took the picture on my lunch-time walk. In fact, the whole business center is decorated in that style.
It's been extremely cold in Moscow these last days: my outside thermometer read -19C this morning, and I really felt it as I went out! Thankfully, I don't have to stay outdoors for long, and my office is comfortable enough.

The Artistry
If you don't know what to do with tons of presscake after you drunk your juice or your children are tired with every other activity - well, just give them the pomace and let them be as creative as they can! Though, you can leave it for yourself if you wish for it's absolutely absorbing! :)
I shaped this 'piece of art' out of carrot presscake and was quite pride with myself :)

Princess the Frog
There is a Russian fairytale about a frog who turned to a princess. That's a long story of choosing wives by three brothers, sons of a tsar, in rather unusual way: by their farther's will each one had to shoot an arrow from his bow and marry a girl from the home where his arrow 'landed'. Youngest brother's one fell into marsh and was caught by a frog, he had to marry the reptile and was much laughed at, but afterwards the frog turned out the best cooker, skilled handywoman and wisest consultor out of all brothers' wives, for she was a beautiful princess under some evel spell. Well, and so on...
This is a sculpture representing this character in fontain of Manege square.

Public art
Another piece of public art found in the same backyard as yesterday's. You wouldn't realize it's a 'fake' man unless you come closer. It looks so natural! And I have to agree, he makes this little backyard look inhabited and very pleasant.

A dog
Of course, it's a piece of public art, not a real dog. But I couldn't deprive you of pleasure of getting acquainted with this cutie! My husband found this ... sculpture, if you will, in the backyard of business buildings in city center.
