Restaurant for Birds

I saw this type of birds' feeding racks in the park yesterday, but could not locate any birds around it. Interesting idea - restaurant on two floors.

Warmest congratulations on Independence Day to my dear friends in the USA!

Kuskovo

The view of church and belfry from the pond
I promised Jacob from Ocala (Florida) Daily Photo (link) to post more photos from Kuskovo, here they are. Few facts more: The Count Peter Sheremetev's summer mansion, constructed in 1750-1770, was nationalised after October 1917 revolution and became the state museum. This decision of Soviet government allowed to keep the immunity of the complex. The buildings are surrounded by English landscape garden, the organ concerts are held in the main palace during the year.
Grotto. On a plan of the architect Argunov the Grotto should personify elements of a stone and water.

Hermitage
Church and belfry
Palace walls
Park Kuskovo

I mentioned the link to the site of the museum in my previous post.
Today please look at the amazing winter photos I found when was researching about Kuskovo (link). The interiors are also presented and photos are very good!

Kuskovo

The students of art school doing art in Kuskovo mansion.

Kuskovo is the summer country house of Sheremetev's noble family, constructed in mid 18th century. More than 20 unique buildings are available for research nowadays, including the Palace, the Grotto, the Large Stone Greenhouse, the ancient Church, etc. The estate's point of interest is the French Garden with its ponds, pavilions and marbles.
The Dutch house was constructed 1749 in memory of epoch of Peter's the First and his passion for the Netherlands. The house is decorated inside with tiles from Delft and old Dutch furniture.
The view of the Kuskovo Palace, church and bell tower.
I will post more photos of the beautiful area in my next posts.

Gorky Park

This is the main entrance to Gorky Park, all decorated for the winter. The carousel is sitting dormant, waiting for some signs of spring so it can come to life again! I'm waiting for spring too :)

Winter sports

The pond is located in Ekaterina's park. On the far side of the pond you see the sports buildings (they cover different sport activities, and constructed in 1980 for Olympic games in Moscow).

I am sure she is discussing the lunch menu to restore the calories wasted by sports. Well, that would be my "sports' plan"...

Bauman Garden

The feeling and decoration of Moscow in middle of 20th century is recognizable when you get into Bauman garden in the old center of Moscow. The place is very small and almost the only opportunity for babies to enjoy the nature in rather big area.

They called it "Otkritaya Estrada" (open stage). This stage remembers the live music of 60th, open air dancing with live music, and Soviet films.

These days the stage is still very busy. They show movies (looks very blind in the bright of the evening (the photo done about 9pm), but it is for free), arrange concerts during state holidays and  the nearby living retirees do dancing here on week-ends.

It reminded me the piece from the famous comedy movie "Pokrovskie Vorota", the decorations are so very alike.
