Moscow Zoo
Moscow Zoo.
Founded in 1864 and located in the center of the city it is joy and great possibility to be reminded that we are the part of nature.

Flying Seeds
When I was 15 years old, in school we began to study human anatomy. I was born in the Soviet Union, and we all knew for sure that God does not exist (well, except in a form of Vladimir Lenin, of course), and the man came from monkey.
I always loved to learn and was interested to study human anatomy. And the more I learned, the more I opened the relationship of organs, systems and phenomenal intelligence of the human body.
Then I first began to doubt the assertion that there was no higher power.
Why this long introduction?
I walked through the park and this little aircraft hit me on the head on its way from the tree branch. Seeds, flying to the ground at a very unpredictable and long trajectory. Another creation of higher powers. With brilliantly calculated ideal aerodynamics, weight and shape. With only one main purpose, procreation. And then I remembered my teenager's surprise at harmony of nature in and around us. And made this photo.
Yes, I'm too talkative today.

Autumn
It is started. Days become shorter, nights colder and yellow leaves cover the water. I can not say that I am happy about that, I am the summer fan, though it was rather dramatic season in 2010. But it finished so fast.

Programming the Future
Anywhere I look these days, I see the smog and smoke: my window, sites about Moscow, livejournal blogs, internet, TV, radio talks about them non stop.
I decided to add some difference, program the future. This photo is from my trip to Novodevichy convent in April. The sky is clean, temperatures are comfortable and tree leaves are young and fresh. I am planning for the winter shots to follow.

Blog Day: Best Photo of 2009
Hi Everyone,
now that Irina and Ashira are taking care of this blog, I am happy to stop by once in a while and see that everything is going great. I'm absolutely delighted to watch new authors' creativity and would like to welcome all new followers attracted to Moscow Daily Photos.
Today is Blog Day, and the topic is the Best Photo of 2009. Irina wrote me about it and asked to choose the picture for this post. Well, it's been a hard, really hard work. And although I'm extremely fond of flowers I made a decision in favour of Moscow river photo taken in Kolomenskoe park last September. I hope you'll share my pleasure of seeing it again.
I would also like to take my chance to thank Irina and Ashira for their invaluable contribution to this blog. Good job, girls!

So here I am again, after two weeks of absence, presenting another photo of Moscow autumn. Well, I believe things will change now for I have granted permissions to two more bloggers so I hope they will pick up the posting and bring this blog back to life.
I already miss you, though.

For a while I will post no comment with my photos since I'm permanently running out of time these days. But hope it will not last long.

Kolomenskoe
On the high bank of Moscow-river you can see blue cupolas and and white towers - remains of once magnificant tsar's palace.

Harvest
Apple are plentiful this year. Every apple-tree about Moscow is heavy with fruits. Not all of them eatable, though, for wild ones are usually extremely sour. One more reason is ecology: I wouldn't risk having an apple grown in Moscow, especially next to some busy road.
Kolomenskoe park is famous for its apple gardens. If not something for my table but at least they make good pictures!

Would you believe it's Moscow DP?
As I told you a while back, Moscow-river is usually dark grey or nasty brown. But there was a day when the sky was of so rich a colour that even waters of Moscow-river looked surprisingly blue. And the boat happened to be tied at the bank.
The scene looked so far was typical Moscow landscape!

Theme Day: Contrast
First turning leaves provide perfect opportunity for October's Theme Day which is to present CONTRAST. Well, I thought of showing social or architectural contrast for a while but then chose colours.
