Fini.

Finished both my 'vacation' projects this weekend! :)

 Queen Bee by LHN

No mods..........that I remember. The linen is called Straw but I have to admit I'm not sure what company it's from. (WDW? Maybe?) I get linen in, throw it in the pile and then never really know what it is or where it's from. /shrug
I really liked the frame that was pictured with the pattern for this but the square shape is just begging for a cube finish instead, right?

 Vesper striping yarn

And more stripey socks (that I never ever get tired of making............or wearing!) This color was hard to photo.........when the sun hits this yarn, I swear it GLOWS. Soooooooooooo bright! LOVE IT!
So that's cool, not letting them drag out for months or whatever. Now I can rip into something NEW and SHINY. lol

Here's a cool link I came across this morning on Pinterest:
Oh, to have the time to get to all the projects in the world!!!

I really like the patchwork pincushion that links to here. Super cute! Bookmarking that one for sure.

Some stashing & Potter thoughts.

I wavered so much on getting a skein of Bugga yarn at that Stitches East because it is sooooo hard to get a hold of, and ultimately decided not to get one because, really now, I don't neeeeed anymore sock yarn.
Well, what do you think popped up this week in the last package of this year's The Loopy Ewe Sock Club?
A skein of Bugga!
And all was right with the world. lol

It's not a color I would have gravitated to on my own but I do like it. (I just never seem to make a grab for many blues when it comes to yarn.........not sure why??)

I also got the two newest Lizzie Kate patterns this week. I love the colors and the fact that they aren't your typical 'holiday' type colors, you know? They're very bright and bordering on tropical and I really do hope to work up at least ONE of these soon. I wasn't planning on working up the scissor fob as an actual fob (I think it would be just darling as a ornament or cube finish) but OMG HOW FREAKING CUTE ARE THESE SCISSORS?? I've never seen these kits in person before so I was not in anyway prepared for how_freaking_small these scissors would be. They are like scissors for fairies! Or garden gnomes! Sooooo cute! I think they would drive me nuts if I tried to use them with my big, beefy, Irish potato-picking, in-no-way-graceful peasant hands but +9823 points for cuteness! lol

I was just organizing the 'stash to see what I had/wanted to do for a couple Xmas stitchies and, wow, I need to cull the stack a little. Stayed tuned for a giveaway of goodies soon!!! lol

Oh yes. We went to go see Harry Potter last night and..............it was really really good but really really unrelentingly dismal. Wow.  0_o The book was pretty intense (I remember having to throw it down here and there and walk away because it was just too much at certain points) so I should have expected that but the movies, by and large, are more about CGI effects than intense emotions so it was surprising to me, I guess. (The book, as always though, is still a hundred times better. Heh.).

This is full of WIN though:
Don't look at me Bill, I'm heeeedeous. lolol

Hmmmm....

I may have found a contender to make up for the 'mitt kit' I was drooling over at Stitches East but just couldn't see spending $38 on. It was a vine pattern in two colors of wool yarn, very lovely,  but I *know* I could kit something up pretty close to it for much less so I passed on it. (Again. I drooled over it LAST year too. I just like what I like, I guess. lol)

But hellllllllllllo new mitt pattern from the always-wonderfully-delicious Jared of Brooklyn Tweed:

Who needs vine mitts when you can have Herringbone ones?
I was also eyeballing this Latvian Mitten book:
It's $25 but has eleven billionity patterns in it, each one more complex than the next so 1) it should keep me busy for a long time and 2) should be a challenge (I do so love a little knitterly challenge).

It's terribly cold outside and yesterday it actually SNOWED here (enough to stick around too!) so is it any wonder I have mittens on the brain? :)

A new Twist Collective is up!

And mannnnn, there are some sweet patterns in this issue. I'm not going to highlight them all but these are a few of my favs:

I *love* the collar on this!! I'm just a sucker for cables, cables cables overall:
Love the detailing on this sleeve here:

I'm not sure the colors in this one, as pictured here, are quite 'me' but I could see this in a charcoal/black bottom with a light grey top part or vice versa:

THESE. MUST. DO. THESE.

Ohhhhh, and about a dozen other things. You should check it out just for the eye pr0n because the photos are beautiful. :)
