The Clash - Supermega Blackmarket Clash

another clash related post for you all to hopefully enjoy comes this one inspired by the good folks at blackmarketclash.com .they published a list of artists who they said had covered clash songs and asked if anyone could send them the full list.i did a little digging through the muebles archives and using my crack team of researchers (ok my wife and one of my nephews!) managed to get most of them except police and thieves by buffalo tom.(yes i know its not a clash original but they made it their own).anyway i emailed buffalo tom and according to buffalo tom themselves they never covered the track but i did find a version they did of straight to hell so that is included in its place.some of these cover artists may surprise you and one of them almost isnt really a proper cover(if that makes sense!) but youll hear what i mean.anyhoo its over to you the listener to listen, enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!
p.s one of the cover versions here isnt the best quality, sorry but its the only version i have.see if you can guess which one it is!

The Specials - 3 Demos

this is a post i got sent a while back and once again cant remember who sent it,so if its you please say hello so i can say thanks!its as its title suggests its 3 demos recorded i believe in 1981.ive been told before that one track is actually fun boy 3 but i was also told by another source that it was recorded in the same session as the other two tracks by the specials.im a bit confused now so ill leave it up to you to decide.i really like all the tracks and i think you will too.so now all you have to do is listen, enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!

Joe Strummer - This is Radio Joe

Evening listeners. As requested by Johnny Caramello here is a repost of this great compilation , consisting of a don letts radio 6 show tribute to joe strummer and 4 'episodes' of joe strummers show for the bbc world service.i dont know a track list for joes shows but after a quick listen it strikes me as being a kind of john peel type of show where joe would play whatever he liked which included the ramones, big youth, ella fitzgerald etc.each of joes shows lasts about 30 mins so they make ideal podcast kind of listening.anyway they make for an interesting listen and i like them and hope you will too.so once again kids its time to listen, enjoy and leave a comment.thanks!

afternoon all.these are 9 demo tracks recorded at studios in the UK between december 75 and september 76.some really nice tracks here but funnily enough the opening bars of track 1 'non stop dancing' remind me of status quo!!.give it a listen and let me know what you think.thanks again to gibbo for this post.so now just enjoy this early session from the jam and then leave a comment.thanks!

Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros - Glastonbury 1999

the last posting for this evening is Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros at Glastonbury in 1999.this one is taken from a (probably)bbc radio 6 re-broadcast in 2003(i think).anyway its 12 tracks long and features a great mix of clash and mescaleros faves.joe is on great form and dedicates 'rock the casbah' to an ex-drummer of his you may have heard of.the sound here is brilliant and sounds fantastic on either good speakers or headphones.so you really, really have no excuses in not playing this loud, enjoying it and then leaving a comment on it.thanks!

The Clash - Audio Ammunition

Evening all.Thought id start with a bit of advice. If any of you are in London or are planning to come to London before this Sunday Sept the 22nd get yourselves down to 75 Berwick Street(just off Oxford Street) to the Black Market Clash pop up shop/exhibition. Its feckin great. I went there today and to be able to see so many iconic pieces of clash ephemera is a chance not to be missed.(my 2 year old daughter slept through it!)I will post some photos if anyone cant make it down and would like to see any.
So when i got home in the email inbox was a link for this piece you see above. Id not heard of it before getting it but apparently its a new 5 part mini documentary(in its original form)featuring video interviews with all of the band,Joe strummer appearing courtesy of unused clips from The future is unwritten i think, and i believe the whole thing ties in with the exhibition and release of the box set etc etc.anyway this is the documentary but in a single podcasty mp3 kind of thing with all 5 parts joined together.so as you know im a bit of a technophobe so ive no idea how the sender(thanks to jimbo in antrim for the link!)was able to do this.ive just looked on youtube and just watched part 1 there.anyway each part is about a studio album and the whole thing lasts a little over 40 mins.does anyone know or have a link to a file where i can watch all 5 parts in one go?surely someone must be able to join all 5 parts together? If you can please get in touch via the comments.so please listen to this, enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!

p.s i forgot to mention some of the artists included here. theres the police, the killers, busta rhymes,50 cent, tony blair!!,the beastie boys and many other artists that to be honest ive never heard of.some work really well , others er......not so much but worth a listen though,so after you've listened please leave a comment.thanks!
The Clash - Get Mashed

Beastie Boys - Mixed and Mashed

My tribute to the late great MCA Adam Yauch.its a compilation of mashups etc featuring, the clash, joe strummer, depeche mode, the ramones etc etc.theres 14 tracks in total including one which isnt a mashup but is the hard to get single 'rock hard' which samples back in black by ac/dc so it almost is.anyway whilst listening spare a moment to think of Adam and his great contribution to music from punk to hip hop and so much in between.R.I.P MCA
please listen,enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!
