Cigarettes & Violets? =)

Not that I have ever smoked, but I love the song Cigarettes & Violets by Jesse Malin. I can`t seem to find a video that is not a live recording, so the sound is not the best... =)

I had an idea of a shawl with the petals of a flower around the edge, and this is the first try. I am quite happy with it, but I am not a fan of the yarn... Everyone seems to love it, but I just can`t understand why... *lol*

Materials: 51 grams lace weight yarn - tULLiBaLL`s I en tynn tråd; 4,5 mm needles.

I chose to block this shawl, and it is cool to see how different the same pattern can turn out using different yarns. =)

As usual, the shawlette is named after a songtitle! I like the Hellacopters cover the best, so here it is - Darling Darling:

I have made a larger version of the Out Of My Head Shawlette this week. I am very happy with the result. The modified pattern will be available in a while. =)

Pattern: Out Of My Head Lace Shawlette.
Yarn: ca. 51 grams and ca. 450 meters of tULLiBaLL`s I en tynn tråd, 80% merino + 20% silk on 4,5 mm needles.









I blocked it like this:

Too Deep?

The pattern was full of errors, so I had to knit through it once more. And STILL it had errors... *lol*

This time I used ca. 52 grams handspun merino on 5 mm needles. The colour is Bruised Grape - handdyed by Trenchwork. Love it! Supersoft and squishy to spin and knit! =)

Facts:
Usage: ca. 81 gr. and ca. 330 meters handspun light fingering weight yarn on 5 mm needles.
Yarn: Light in August, Polwarth from Bride Flight Studios on etsy.
Pattern: This is my design and I am writing down the pattern, and hopefully it will be available soon in some form. =)

The shawlette is named after the beautiful song by Pete Molinari - Look What I Made Out (Of My Head Ma), since the first one was made as a gift for my mother. But I felt like shortening it up a bit for some reason… *lol*

I wanted to knit a small shawlette to my mum with handspun yarn - and here it is! =)

Facts:
Handspun yarn - Mixed BFL from Woolgatherings Fibers. Knitted on 5 mm needles. Used 79 grams.

I am not a big fan of the large triangular shawls, and wanted a small shawlette with a lace edge. Very happy with the result! Hopefully mum will be, too. =)

A Pink Shawl of Love!

It`s very quiet here these days, I know - but I promise you I will be back! =)
I am working on two larger projects that are progressing very slowly... Partly because it`s so warm here, partly because my arms hurt of too much "heavy" knitting..., and partly because I need to finish some birthday-presents.
