I Made It All!! Well... =)

...not the wool or the colors, but I handspun the yarn before knitting this hat.
And it feels G O O D! =)

Who knew knitting with selfmade yarn could be so much fun? I did`nt, but now I have truly fallen down the rabbit hole... *lol*

So - here`s the facts on the 1. finished project in 2011:
Hand painted roving from Greenwood Fiberworks - Heathered BFL in the color Enchanted. I spun it on my wheel Lyckohjulet fairly thin, and used Navajo plying to keep the clear colors. It turned out to be a 3-ply yarn with ca. 230 meters and 112 grams. I used ca. 72 grams on 4 mm needles on the hat - Ullstund Hat.

And here is a lot of photos - in the correct order, of course! *lol*

Da har jeg ferdigstilt mitt første prosjekt i 2011 - og det med selvspunnet garn! Utrolig kjekt og tilfredsstillende å strikke med eget håndspunnet garn, altså! *yey*
Det anbefales!!! *ler*

Lumber-Jack - The Warmest Hat Ever? *lol*

I have knitted a hat to my friend to wear on walks with the dogs - and it might just be the warmest hat ever made... *lol*

I used dark brown wool on the outside (Drops Eskimo) and a mix of lambswool and wool from my dog Ebba for the thrumming. It was difficult to make the thrumming felt together - especially on the front flap, but that might be because I mixed the wool like I did. I have never felted dog-wool before, so that might also be the reason why I struggled with the felting...

But the result is extremely warm and soft! =)

I must find an easy way to close the flaps - maybe a button of some kind.

Pattern: I used the Fleeced Earflap Hat pattern as basis for my hat.

Purple Foxglove Cloche - Spring Is Here! =)

The Sun is shining and the birds are singing! It`s Spring! *happydance*

I have tried to get hold of the book that features the pattern Sideways Grande Hat (also known as the Grande Cloche) just to knit this hat. I was tired of waiting for a book that never comes (my order has been cancelled twice!?), so I made my own version of the hat based on project-photos on Ravelry! And it actually turned out ok! *yey*

Pattern: Totally influenced by photos of the Sideways Grande Hat designed by Laura Irwin.
Usage: 54 grams Manos Silk Blend, colour 6958, on 4 mm needles.
This will be a gift. =)

***********************************************************

Since the beautiful Silk Blend from Manos Del Uruguay reminded me of the Foxglove plants in my backyard, it was easy to find a name for this hat! *lol*

*************************************************************

On The Edge... =)

Now that I am online again (happydance) I must show you the Picot Edge Hat! It`s knitted in Pickles Cashmerino Silk - a beautiful yarn! I used ca. 56 grams on 3.5 mm needles for this hat.

Have a nice Easter, everyone! =)

Little, Big And Intuitive! =)

More hats! *yey*

This baggy brown hat - just for me! - is knitted in a beautiful blend of yak and superfine merino (colourmart) using the pattern Intuitive. I used 67 grams on this hat - holding 2 strands together from cast-on and until right before starting the decreasing. I am SUPER-happy with this hat! *yey*

***********************************************

Both the little blue hat in Abuelita Tjukk Merino (Pickles) and the large black hat in Rauma Puno is knitted following the cute pattern Little Warrior Hat. I used 58 grams Abuelita on 4mm needles for a size 6 months-1 year, and 49 grams Puno on 5mm needles for a large adult. =)

A Headcoat in bulky yarn =)

Finally I have tried out the pattern in bulky yarn. It feels great - bur the brown colour is just too light to suit me... But I will give it another go in a darker brown yarn. =)

Pattern: Tempo`s Headcoat designed by me.
Usage: 80 grams Rauma Puno on 5 mm needles for a medium sized hat.

PSST! She`s Still Alive... *lol*

I have made some hats lately - but haven`t had the energy to blog about them - or anything else... But here they are! =)

The 2 brown hats are 18 Seconds To Sunrise - the one with pompom is knitted in Viking Balder - 100 grams on 8 mm needles. And the other one is knitted in Viking Alpaca - 100 grams on 7 mm needles.

Last you see Ashley - knitted in BabySilk from Du store Alpakka - 49 grams on 4 mm needles. This one needs a wash and some blocking...

It`s finished! *yey*

I have made another Rose Red Headcoat - this time in a dark blue Faerytale alpaca, with small flecks of purple in it. The photos are too dark to really show the beautiful colour...

Hope you will be happy with it, Maria! =)

The Last Finished Projects of 2009!

A Jacques Cousteau Hat in thin alpaca held double on 4mm needles. Usage: ca. 70 grams.

And yet another Rose Red hat - this time a size Small in Mirasol Miski baby lama. And a Cabled Neckwarmer in Miski baby lama. Both a birtdaypresent for my mother-in-law.

We really did get a white Christmas - and there was and is plenty of it, too! *lol* But Ebba loves the snow - and is happy-happy happy! =)
