Back To MONO!

Hi there.
It`s been quiet from me a long time now. A lot of stuff has happened, and we lost our beloved Ebba November 10. 2014. It crushed us to pieces - she was such a special girl.
You will be in our hearts and thoughts forever, Ebba.

Here is a photo from her last birthday - 10 years old. Look at those eyes.

The only thing I knew for sure, was that a house without a dog is not a home for me.
So we started searching for a Samoyed puppy.


I want you to meet the newest member of my family. This is Hedda - she is a Samoyed and she sure is keeping us busy. She was born November 8. 2014 and moved in with us January 7.2015.

 






Here she is with Fenris (Ebba´s brother) just weeks before he past away in March 2015.
R.I.P. big boy. 

And here Hedda is in March 2016. All grown up and ready for everything fun.

She has a beautiful boyfriend that she plays with every week - Raja, a Finnish Lapphund.
They love each other deeply.

The plan is to spin some yarn of the Samoyed fluff, but Hedda is holding on to it hard for now. Hopefully she will let go of the puppy fluff when the heat is coming. *lol*

Ebba - Always In My Head Shawlette =)

I am SO happy with this little cloud of a shawl! =)
I used about 88 grams of my handspun Ebba&Polwarth - 1 thread dogswool from my sweetheart Ebba and 1 thread Polwarth - on 5,5 mm needles. I wanted a softer and more romantic edging on this shawlette, so I made a new edging with a crochet bind off on the Out Of My Head Shawlette. =)

Og hva er vel en jul uten repriser? Nå har vi jo snø i mengder her i år, da, men "Same procedure as last year" - Take it away, Joe Pesci! *ler*

Lumber-Jack - The Warmest Hat Ever? *lol*

I have knitted a hat to my friend to wear on walks with the dogs - and it might just be the warmest hat ever made... *lol*

I used dark brown wool on the outside (Drops Eskimo) and a mix of lambswool and wool from my dog Ebba for the thrumming. It was difficult to make the thrumming felt together - especially on the front flap, but that might be because I mixed the wool like I did. I have never felted dog-wool before, so that might also be the reason why I struggled with the felting... 

But the result is extremely warm and soft! =)

I must find an easy way to close the flaps - maybe a button of some kind. 

Pattern: I used the Fleeced Earflap Hat pattern as basis for my hat.
