I Made It All!! Well... =)

...not the wool or the colors, but I handspun the yarn before knitting this hat.
And it feels G O O D! =)

Who knew knitting with selfmade yarn could be so much fun? I did`nt, but now I have truly fallen down the rabbit hole... *lol*

So - here`s the facts on the 1. finished project in 2011:
Hand painted roving from Greenwood Fiberworks - Heathered BFL in the color Enchanted. I spun it on my wheel Lyckohjulet fairly thin, and used Navajo plying to keep the clear colors. It turned out to be a 3-ply yarn with ca. 230 meters and 112 grams. I used ca. 72 grams on 4 mm needles on the hat - Ullstund Hat.

Og denne kjøpte jeg av henne - fikk ikke helt frem den flotte mørke brune fargen, men...



Denne ulla fikk jeg i forrige uke - BFL fra The Thylacine - men den er så vakker i fargene at jeg må lære meg litt før jeg våger å hærpe den... *ler*

Lumber-Jack - The Warmest Hat Ever? *lol*

I have knitted a hat to my friend to wear on walks with the dogs - and it might just be the warmest hat ever made... *lol*

I used dark brown wool on the outside (Drops Eskimo) and a mix of lambswool and wool from my dog Ebba for the thrumming. It was difficult to make the thrumming felt together - especially on the front flap, but that might be because I mixed the wool like I did. I have never felted dog-wool before, so that might also be the reason why I struggled with the felting... 

But the result is extremely warm and soft! =)

I must find an easy way to close the flaps - maybe a button of some kind. 

Pattern: I used the Fleeced Earflap Hat pattern as basis for my hat.

Cabled Headcoat =)

This Cabled Headcoat has been finished for some days waiting for the camera. It`s knitted in a thin

Pattern: My design
Usage: ca. 85 gr. thin 2-threads wool from Holst garn - 2 threads held together on 4mm needles.
It`s a gift...

Another Headcoat! =)

And I have been asked for the Headcoat-pattern, so I have worked with writing the pattern down these last days. I have also knitted another one - and this fits my head perfectly. Well - at least before washing... I wonder if the yak will grow a bit after washing... Hm...

Pattern: My design - mono`s Headcoat.
Usage: ca. 86 gr. - one thread brown yak/merinowool from Stäkets Hantverk & Design and one thread blue wool from Holst Garn. Both fingering weights. I used both 4mm and 3mm needles.

Iris! =)

Finished up the second Gretel last night - this time knitted in 2-ply Kirkcaldy in the beautiful blue-ish colour named Iris. Love the result, and all the cables and twist was worth it... =)


Pattern: Gretel by Ysolda Teague.
Usage: ca. 79 gr. Kirkcaldy, 2-ply, Iris.
