Bolt oli äsken päättelykeijun vastaanotolla ja on nyt valmis. Tätä tuskin voi venytellä märkänä, koska kuivanakin se ulottuu idästä länteen. Sain juuri ja juuri kuvattua sen kerran ilman, että joku kissa istuu sen päällä
Bolt just met the finshing fairy and is ready now. This hardly can be blocked wet because even as dry it reaches from east to west. I was just able to take one photo before a cat sit on it.

Mod naistenpäivänä

Olen vihdoin päässyt kirjoneulevaiheeseen. Tässä alku lapaselle nimeltä Mod. Lankoina harmaa Wollmeise, joku hiiriväri ja oma värjäämä puna-punainen Schoppelin sukkalanka.

I have finally enterd the world of ? ahum I don´t know the word.... multicoloured knitting? This is a Mod-mitten. Yarns are a grey Wollmeise, some mouse colour and a reddish sock yarn by Schoppel wolle dyed by me.

Magic loop ja molemmat samalla kertaa. Ihan pettämätön juttu, eikä tarvii miettiä, että mitens se nyt olikaan tuossa toisessa...

Some socks for summer. This is Shibui socks that has been sleeping is the closet for a couple of years... By the way I will never knit socks one by one if only I can avoid it. Both at the same time using Magic loop. This is absolutely the best method and you never need to try to remember what did I do with the first one....

Wool for pain

Uutiset Japanista tulevat koko ajan huonommiksi. Luin aivan uskomattoman Tshernobyl-tarinan Elizabeth Catin blogista... Että sellaista. Silloin ei täälläkään oikein ymmärretty asian vakavuutta. Välimatkaa sinne oli ehkä 450 km. Mutta tuo juttu nyt on jo ihan uskomaton....
Koska villa auttaa kaikkeen, laitan tuohon kuvan muutamasta Wollmeisesta. Hellurei.

News from Japan are getting worse all the time. I read the most amazing Tshernobyl-story from Elizabeth Cat´s blog...Hmm. I do not think we understood the severity of that by then. Distance was about 450 km.
But this story is quite unbelievable...
Because woll helps in every problem I put here a photo of some Wollmeise. Jiihaa.

Jokin eläin on käymässä käsiksi Wollmeise-kokoelmaani. Kuvan värit eivät ole ehkä ihan kohdallaan, mutta voinette silti yhtyä hämmästykseeni siitä, että kolmas vyyhti vasemmalta (tumman sinilila) on nimeltään Ballerina....
There is an animal about attac my Wollmeise collection. The colors may not be exact but I quess you could still agree with me that it is rather surprising that the name of the blue skein (third from left) is called Ballerina....

Candle time

Kävin äsken ärrällä =postissa hakemassa Wollmeisea ja kukkakaupan ulkopuolella oli seppeleitä. Yksi tarttui mukaan. Olen aina pitänyt ruotsalaisten tyylistä ripustella seppeleitä oviin ja kaapin oviin joulun aikaan... Lisäksi olen heikkona valoon...
Ja itse asiaan, Wollmeiseen. Tein umpimähkäisostoksen, niin kuin Wollmeiselta on pakko usein tehdä jos ylipäätään haluaa jotain ja katsokaa noita. Nam! Ongelmana on, että ne on niin hienoja ettei niistä voi kutoa... Aaaks! Rotan vuosi, Turkkilainen markiisi ja yksi värjäämätön.

I just took a walk to post office to get my Wollmeise and on the way I run into this flower shop that had these round things made of herbs or what ever. I had to buy one. I have always loved the way how Swedish people decorate their doors and cabinet doors with these during the Christmas... I also have weakness for candles and lights.
And then Wollmeise. I bought these with my eyes closed (what is the word??? haphazardly??) as you often have to do with Wollmeise if you want to get anything. But look at those! Yam! The only problem is that they are so fine that I do not dear to touch them... Arrgh!

Maia on hauska ja helppo neuloa. Vaikka se näyttää vaikealta se ei ole sitä ja ohje on selvä kuin pläkki! Suosittelen. Lankaa meni n. 170 g eli n. 600 m tosin siihen taisi lipsahtaa muutama ylimääräinen kuviokerta. Puuhelmet tekevät helmasta vähän painavan ja liehuvan. Helmet kolisevat vähän kääntyillessä.. niin hauskaa.

Maia is easy and a lot of fun. The pattern seems difficult but is not. And the instructions are as clear as ... hmm..? what do they say in English... clear as??? What? blah.... Anyway, very clear. I used 170 g of yarn/about 600 m but I think I accidentally did some extra repeats. The wooden beads make the hem a little heavy and flying. The beads rattle a little when you turn... fun.

Tämä on pikku jakkunen, jollaista voi normaalina kesänä tarvita. Tänä kesänä oli liian kuumaa olla missään muussa kuin alusvaatteissa. Paras asu olisi ollut ehkä viikunanlehti. Nyt sitten syksy tuli kerralla ja on liian kylmää käyttää tuota...
Tuo oli nopea kutoa ja valmistui ennen kuin ehdin edes kunnolla aloittaa. Se tehdään yhdessä palassa ja ohjeen mutkikkuus tekee asiasta mielenkiintoisen. Kuinka kukaan saa tuollaisen ohjeen tehtyä?? Siinähän täytyy olla ydinfyysikko laskemassa...

This is little bolero that you may need in a normal summer. This summer was way too hot to wear anything else but underwear. The best outfit might have been a fig leave. Now that the autumn come so suddenly it is way too cold to wear that...
It was fast to knit and was ready nearly before I got started. It is knitted in one piece and the diversity of the pattern makes it interesting to knit. It is amazing how anybody can design something like that. I mean the calculations. You need to be a nuclear physicist...

Kuinka pingottaa pitsihuivi monikissataloudessa?
Aiemmista kokemuksista viisastuneena päätin kokeilla seuraavaa:
Odotetaan, että kissat menevät päiväunille ja että ne ovat syvässä tajuttomuuden tilassa. Sitten levitetään huivi seinälle. Hahhaa.
Ennen kuin nauran yhtään lisää pitäisi varmaan odottaa, että ne heräävät ja päättävät mitä tehdä seinällä roikkuvalle jutulle...

Learning from the previous experiences I decided to do the following: Wait untill the cats a taking a nap and check that they are deeply unconscious. Then just strech the shawl on the wall. Hahhaa. Before I laugh any more I should probably wait until they wake up and decide what to do to the item hanging on the wall...

I have been knitting during the vacation. My husband once asked me why do I knit all the time? Hmph. What should I do then? Bite my nails? At least this is beneficial. In case we get a horrible winter again I will have socks and other warm things.

Joku on kutonut pipoja tässä helteessä... Aak miten ärsyttävää on, että edes tähän vuodenaikaan värit eivät toistu oikeina. Valo on NIIN sinistä. Ei sen puoleen, että sillä nyt hirveästi väliä olisi minkä sävyisinä jonkun peräpohjolan asukin kutomat pipot näyttäytyvät...

Someone has knitted caps is this heat... It is so irritating that even at this time of the year the colors do not seem to be right. This light is SO blue. Not that it really matters what shade the caps seem to be.. knitted by someone living at the other end of the world..

Anteeksi toisto, mutta nuo ovat niin hienoja. Wollmeise. Huono juttu on se, että ne ovat niin hienoja, etten uskalla kutoa niistä mitään.
Sorry to show these again but they are so beautiful. Wollmeise. Bad news is that they are so fine that I can´t touch them.
Kissoilla on kollektiivinen tajuttomuuskohtaus. Se on niin voimakas, että jos joudut sen piiriin menet ihan veltoksi.

Porkkana ja punajuuri - Beetroot and carrot

Tässä punajuuri. Ensimmäinen värjäyskokeiluni. Valo on kummallinen, mutta kyllä se aikalailla halkaistulta punajuurelta näyttää. Jos mietit mikä lanka tuo on, niin ne ovat ne kaksi vaalean lilaa vyyhteä muutaman päivän takaisessa postauksessa.... Olen siis tuhonnut kaksi vyyhteä Socks that Rock-lankaa... muah-hah-hah. Älkää kertoko niille.
This is the beetroot. My first experiment with dying. The light is a bit strange but it actually looks like a beetroot cut in half. If you wonder what yarn this is you have to look a few days backwards... They are the two light purple skeins of Socks that Rock... I have destroyed those... mwah-hah-hah.. Don´t tell them...
Ja sitten. Tadaa, ensimmäinen Wollmeise-lankani. SEN SAAMINEN EI OLLUT HELPPOA.
Tuntikausien kyttäys, sitten salamannopea hiiren liike ja voilá lanka oli minun. En tosin edes ehtinyt katsoa minkä värinen se oli! Jälkeen päin kun tutkin asiaa totesin, ettei siitä edes ole kuvaa, vain teksti jossa luki "vähän kuin porkkana". Hm. Tuo minusta enemmän kuin vähän porkkana. Aika paljon porkkana. Itse asiassa enemmän kuin porkkana itse.
No, seuraavasta päivityksestä en ehtinyt kuin sanoa ooh ja vähän liikauttaa hiirtä ja kaikki oli jo ohi... Parissa sekunnissa...

And then. Ta-daa, my very first Wollmeise-yarn. TO GET IT WAS NOT EASY!
Hours lurking for the yarn that a flash of the mouse and the yarn was mine. Actually I did not have time check the color! After wards I found out that there was no photo of it, only a text "looks a bit like a carrot". Hm. I think it looks more than a carrot, much more.
When the next update appeared on the screen all I could do was to say ooh and begin a movement with the mouse and then it was all over. In less that one or two seconds...
