Vintage card Halloween banner.

Vintage card Halloween banner
We're getting down the the Halloween decorating wire, so it's time to break out the big guns and do a quicky banner project. By "big guns" I mean The Graphics Fairy, which is what Justine used as the vintage cards on this banner. She did some fancy footwork and used a special Mod Podge formula to bring it all together. You'll have to visit her below to find out. Isn't it cute?

Easy decoupage: Halloween plate with skull napkins.

Cathie and Steve's passion for crafting always shows so well with their Halloween ideas. It's their favorite and you can tell! This time it's using napkins from the dollar store and a clear glass plate - and I love how the book pages slightly show through the skulls, which makes it look like the plates were meant to be this way. Which is obviously the case. There's a whole set of goodies that you need to see. Click through to learn how Cathie made this plate as well as to see the other project ideas.

DIY mushroom serving tray makeover.

DIY serving tray
Is it because I am a child of the 70s that I love mushrooms? I have a Pinterest board called "Gnome and Woodland" if that tells you anything. I also love yellow in home decor, so Elizabeth has hit a home run with this DIY mushroom serving tray, in my humble opinion. And Mod Podge, as always, is how it comes together. Floating paper mache balls.

I once tried to make Stiffy balls and they . . . well . . . attempted to end their lives by throwing themselves off the counter. I've been scared of making balls ever since (don't laugh). But the truth is, making balls are a great kids' activity, they are so fun, and they make great decorations for parties - even weddings! If you are afraid of making balls too, don't be. Morgan has a great tutorial, and if her kids can do it then you can too. Don't you love the fun colors?

Dress up some glass plates.

how to Mod Podge plates
I've had people ask me about Mod Podging plates before, and it's definitely possible, as you can see from this project at Diary of a Mad Crafter. It's the polka dot one in particular that drew me in. It happens every time! I love the technique she used to get the paper to fold over on the edges, so you'll need to pay a visit to see the tutorial. You can do it, I promise!

DIY Mod Podge fabric flags.

You look at this picture and probably ask yourself, who wouldn't want a flag in their dessert? I know I do. It just makes dessert time a bit more festive and fun. If you have paper scraps and a few other simple supplies, you can make these. The special thing about them? They BEND. It's kind of amazing, and I kind of love these. Make them in your own patterns by using the tutorial below.

DIY vintage escort card fridge magnets.

I love vintage children's books, as do a lot of you (I know Mod Podge Walter does too!). This project takes those children's books and turns them into place cards that you can use at a wedding or party. To add a little more fun to it, your guests can take them home and use them, because they are also fridge magnets. So versatile, so wonderful. Find the complete tutorial below.

Useful wine charms.

DIY wine charms
Identifying your own party beverage is a problem that has been around for ages - and luckily "wine charms" were invented just for that purpose. But let's say you want to make some personalized wine charms for your party? Miranda and Jamie did it with the new Podgeables shapes and papers and then added some glittered Dimensional Magic for good measure. I will have these at my next Star Wars party, and how will you be able to identify my glass? Chewbacca, of course. Visit M & J for the tutorial below.

Confetti cake stand.

DIY confetti cake stand
I'm obviously a huge fan of dessert, because I've posted about 400 tutorials for different cake stands. I think the real reason besides loving sweets is that it's so satisfying to make them. They typically aren't that involved and then you feel like throwing a party when you are done (literally). This particular cake plate tickles my fancy because it's blue and green polka dots - that equals winner in my book. Visit the tutorial to see how it was made.

I don't know if you remember when I made a dessert stand using a plate and candlestick? Well, Maddy did the same but took it to the next level (literally) with her two tiers! She added a fun design using a bit of recycled paper and now she has a lovely cupcake stand. And those little treats are making me very hungry. Visit Maddy to see how it all came together.

Recycled candle holders.

decoupage tissue paper candle holders
What to do with old jars that you were just going to put in the recycling bin . . . hmmm . . . how about cute little lanterns? If you have a collection of punches (like I do) this project is even more fun. Sara punched shapes into a bunch of tissue paper colors, Mod Podged them to the jar and then called it a day (a very cute day). These are perfect for parties or just to decorate a shelf. Fancy and pretty paper lanterns.

I'm pleased to have Aimee from Fancy Little Things as a guest today to share her lovely lanterns. They are easy and pretty - and I love the addition of the stamps. I'll let her share the tutorial with you. Once you see it, you're going to have to try making these lanterns immediately!

-----------
So, let’s get right to it . . . this past October was a darling little project in BH and G magazine that turned glass jars into jack-o-lanterns by adding tissue papers and some fun faces. For some, this might have been a perfect addition to your Halloween decor – but for me, it inspired this . . . this centerpiece is currently gracing my table and I couldn’t be more excited to share this simple project with you today!

List of Materials:
• Glass jars {I used applesauce, jelly, salsa and jam jars}
• Tissue paper {brand new or recycled}
• Mod Podge
• Ribbon
• Scissors and paintbrush

• Stamp pads and stamps {optional}

Step 1: Cut your tissue paper to size to wrap around your first jar . . . and in my case, I stamped a few green designs.

Step 2: Using a brush, cover the jar with a thin layer of Mod Podge and begin wrapping the pre-cut paper around the jar.

Step 3: Keep your brush full of Mod Podge and begin “painting” the glue on as your adhering the paper ensuring that the paper is completely damp as you’re wrapping . . .

Step 4: Let the jar dry completely while you cover your next one!

Step 5: Repeat . . . the second time I covered the whole jar in plain white paper and then added a saying on the front.

Step 6: I added a bit of white ribbon around the tops of each jar to finish them off – be creative with your ribbon color. Make some more sets and enjoy!!

So, every time you wash out a glass jar to recycle this week, decide if you can fit a tea light or small candle inside — if so, grab some tissue paper and some brush-on glue and make your own little lanterns. I dare you to be creative!

Don't forget to visit Aimee on her blog Fancy Little Things - also on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

Mod Podge kleenex box centerpiece
Hmmm - how do you make a centerpiece out of a Kleenex box? And did you ever think of doing it? I never have, so I love that Natalie came up with such a great way to recycle a common household item. The addition of the book pages and knobs take it up a notch, and you could use just such a centerpiece at a wedding or party. You might have everything at home already. Solar Mod Podge lights.

Mod Podge mason jar solar lights
A few years ago Pam taught you how to add food coloring to Mod Podge to make beautiful lanterns. Well, Amanda took it a step further and added solar power to her mason jars. A few years ago I bought little solar powered lights from Target and had NO idea what to do with them - now I know! These lanterns are awesome, inexpensive and also a great use of Outdoor Mod Podge. Visit Amanda to see how they were made. And beginning Mod Podgers take note: you won't believe how easy it is.
