FAVOURITE COLOURING MEDIUM

Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking you to share a project using your favourite colouring medium, i.e. pencils, markers, inks etc.

I have used copic markers from the beginning of my card making journey so I am more used to them than anything, but I do have a go at using Zig marker sometimes, but normally with flowers. I've also had a go with pencils but find they take much longer.

For my card I have coloured these two images from the MFT Picture Perfect Party Animals stamp set which I bought second hand but not as yet used.  I cut them out with stitched squares, matted with black card and used papers to match the colours of the ballooons.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

with a voucher for the lucky winner.

I would like to enter:

Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
We love Stamping - Anything Goes/Focal Sentiment
Critter Crazy - Anything goes with a critter
NBUS - Stamps not used

I hope you can join us and you can pop over to the challenge here to see the inspiration from the rest of the team.

Have a good day.

MONOCHROME OR COLOURFUL

Morning Everyone,

Not had a good week here. We lost one of our little dogs at the weekend and we're still getting used to him not being around.  It was all very quick with him being under the weather late Thursday night to going in his sleep on Saturday night.  The vet seemed to think it could have been sepsis. He was such a little character and we miss him dearly.

On a more happy note we have a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking whether you prefer to work with monochrome or colour.

I prefer to work with colour as it's a lot more cheery but saying that doesn't mean I don't do monochrome at all because I do.  For my card I have used my MFT happy birthday block with rainbow paper, which I love, but alas I think that's my last sheet.  I've coloured and fussy cut two birthday chicks, also from MFT, and added them with three sparkly dots and a die cut balloon.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I would like to enter:

Paper Fundays - the Dies have it
Die Cut Divas - Anything Goes
Word Power - Anything goes with words
Pennys paper Crafty #566 - Anything Goes
Simon Says Weds - Add a Sentiment

We look forward to seeing your entries.  Have a good rest of the week.

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS ANIMAL?

 Hello Everyone,

A new challenge starts at As You Like It today and we are asking you to share your favourite Christmas critter.

I have chosen Reindeer, especially one with a red nose, as it wouldn't be Christmas without Rudolph would it?

For my card I have used a MFT sentiment die and added reindeer from Mama Elephant, which have been stamped, coloured with copics and die cut.  The two little ornaments and bird are also from the same set.  I used a snippet of striped paper and it was a tad short for the 5"x7" card so the card had to be cut down slightly for it to look right.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

with a voucher for the lucky winner

I would like to enter:

PIP Challenge 2345 - Anything Goes
Double D challenge - Stripes and/or dots
Stamping Sensations - Get Ready for Christmas
We Love Stamping - Christmas Characters
My Favorite Things - Ready Set Christmas

I hope you can join us, have a good weekend when it gets here and see you soon.

NEON

Morning Everyone,

I decided to make a card for the Colourful Options challenge where the theme is Neon.  In fact I ended up making two cards.  This is the first one:

I used Hero Arts neon ink through a rectangle stencil and then stamped the floral image from MFT onto it once it was dry.  I haven't used this stamp before and I really like it so will have to have a go at colouring it some time.  I heat embossed the sentiment and used black card for the mat and some clear raindrops were added too.

This is the second card:

I've used some neon coloured card and stamped and heat embossed Dreamees stitched flowers and then fussy cut them all out.  The orange flowers, which are the brightest in real life haven't photographed very well at all. The dark wooden effect paper is from a My Minds Eye pad.

These are both being entered into:

Simon Says Weds - Anything Goes
Penny's Paper Crafty - Anything Goes
The Flower Challenge (top card) - Anything floral

Another wet and rainy day here today. The fields across the way from us still haven't gone down from last weekend so they will be flooded for a while yet.

Have a good day whatever you will be doing.

SNIPPETS

 Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is to use snippets.

I made this little panel of snippets along with this card here and it's been on my desk ever since so I thought it was a good time to use it.  The strips are all from a Doodlebug pad.

I stamped a couple of images from a MFT set called Here Comes Santa Claus and coloured with copics and then cut both panels out with a stitched rectangle and added a band of red card to hide the join.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted and heat embossed in red.

I would like to enter:

Snippets Playground - bottom panel used snippets although no photo as made a while ago.
January Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas
ABC Christmas - A for Anything Christmas

Although cold here, it looks as though the sun will be shining.  Thank you for visiting and have a good day.

FAVOURITE FOOD?

 Morning Everyone,

Today is the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and we are asking you to share a creation relating to your favourite food.

I love anything sweet whether it be cake or chocolate, anything really.  If we go out for a meal I'd much rather have a dessert than a starter (can't manage 3 courses nowadays!).

For my DT card I have used images from the MFT stamp set called Mice Day to Celebrate.  I chose the paper first and then coloured the images with copics.  I decided on a fairly plain design as the image, when cut with a stitched square, was quite large.  I inked around the edge of the square with red ink to go with the paper.

The sponsor for the challenge is Lawn Fawn with a voucher for the lucky winner.

I would like to enter:

Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
CCC Digi Creations - Food and/or drink
Crafty Calendar - Anything Goes
Critter Crazy - Anything with a Critter
Papercraft challenges - Animals (on farm)
Rabisco challenge - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting and have a good day.

Rudolph

 Morning Everyone,

I have a quick little card to share today using my deer circle from Simon Says Stamp.

I have cut it centrally in my stitched square and die cut the Merry Christmas from MFT twice and stuck them together.  The small piece of dotty paper is a snippet as were the pieces for the sentiment. I have coloured his eyes and nose and added glossy accents to the nose.

I really like this card and will probably do more in different colour ways.

I would like to add it to:

Christmas Kickstart - Christmas Snippets
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas - Anything Christmas

Thank you for visiting and have a good weekend.

SKETCH AT CHRISTMAS CRAFT CREATIONS

 Good Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where this month we are following this sketch.

Here is my take on the sketch.

I didn't want to do the obvious trees so chose one tree and stamps, coloured with copics,  from the MFT set "Jingle All the Way".  The background paper is from Whimsy stamps.

An easy card to make, apart from the fussy cutting, which I seem to be doing a lot of recently even though it's not my favourite thing to do!

I hope you will be able to join in, thank you for visiting and I will be back tomorrow with another DT card.

SANTA'S ELF

 Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you've had a good weekend.  I had a little play and made this Christmas card.

The set is Santa's Elves from MFT and I've coloured with copics.  I masked off the elf and put the tree behind him, the sentiment is from the same set and I've cut them out with a stitched square, added a border and a snippet of patterned paper.

I would like to enter:

ABC Christmas - Q for Quality Street colours
Christmas Kickstart - Photo Inspiration - I've gone with the bright colours and presents

Simon Says Weds - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a good week.

EMBOSSING OR STENCILLING?

Good Morning Everyone,

It's time for a new challenge at As You Like It and this time we are asking which is your favourite between embossing or stencilling.

I don't use embossing folders much, but I do love to heat emboss flower images.  It gives me a chance to practice with my Zig Clean Colour brush markers, which I don't use often enough.  I have used MFT Flowers in Bloom, heat embossed in gold and coloured, but I'm not totally happy with how it's turned out.  I don't like the background around the stems much and I've overworked the red flower, but seeing as it was a last minute make for the challenge, I didn't have time to make another.  I will have to have another go sometime as I do love this stamp.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

INSPIRED BY A XMAS FILM

Good Morning Everyone,

There's a new challenge at As You Like It and the theme is for you to share a project "Inspired by Your Favourite Christmas Film".

I don't watch many films at Christmas, but I do like Elf with Will Ferrell in his green suit.  I just think it's so funny and we all need laughter in our lives at the moment.  I have made a small 4" card with snippets from a Doodlebug pad, an MFT stamp coloured with copics and a Simon Says Stamp die cut.  I've used stitched dies and a stitched mini scallop die to finish the edges off. A really simple card, great for posting.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I would like to enter:

ABC Christmas - Your favourite things - dies
Sketchy Challenges - Christmas
Pixie's Snippets Playground - All snippets apart from the sentiment die.
Simon Says Stamp Weds - Fun with Dies
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes

I think we'll be putting our Christmas decorations up this weekend so it will be a busy one. Whatever you'll be doing I hope it's a good one and stay safe.

HIP TO BE SQUARE

Good Morning Everyone,

I am pleased to be showing you my first card as a  DT member of the Cutie Pie challenge  where the theme is Hip to be Square.

I have used a cute image from Lee Holland who is the sponsor of the challenge,  coloured him with copics and fussy cut him out. He has then been added to my card in front of a CC Designs grass die and a MFT birthday die, which I have cut with a snippet of yellow paper.

I hope you will be able to join us in this easy theme with your squares and cute images.

HEART OF FLOWERS

Good Morning All,

I have made another card from a sketch shown below.

I cut flowers with my MFT stitched blooms dies from snippets of pink and yellow papers and attached them to a heart shape to follow the sketch.  This was glued to a piece of linen card cut with a stitched rectangle and the banners were also snippets with a sentiment from LOTV embossed in silver.

I would like to enter:

RHINO TOWER

Good Morning Everyone,

When I saw the sketch challenge over at MFT I instantly knew what I wanted to use for it. It's funny how some sketches hit you like that and some just don't appeal at all.

I have used a set from MFT called Birth-Yay, coloured them with copics, and used three scraps of paper in colours to match the toucan.  I've also added a tiny pearl to the cherry on the cake.  A fairly simple layout, but I had to add 2 enamel dots as I don't like seeing all that white space at the top. The sentiment is from the same set and stamped in Versafine ink.

This is the sketch:

Have a good week, thank you for visiting and I will be back later in the week.

HAVE YOUR SELFIE

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all well and had a good weekend.  I thought I would have a play with a sketch challenge and have made this card with the Christmas Selfies set from MFT.

This is the sketch

I stamped the little elf and then coloured him with copics, cut him out with a stitched rectangle and layered him up as near as I could to the sketch.  The sentiment comes with the stamp sent and this has been heat embossed in white onto a stitched banner.

I have used a red base card as it went well with the colour scheme. I have used snippets for all parts of the card.

Challenges I would like to enter:

All fun challenges #8 - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments - Anything Goes + a sentiment

Thank you for visiting.  I will be collecting a shopping order today and probably a bit of gardening.  Whatever you do, please stay safe.

BIRTHDAY CHICKS

Good Morning All,

I'm back with a card made just for fun.  I happened to see the sketch on MFT stamps challenge the other day and thought I'd have a go.  This is my card:

and this is the sketch

I've had these Birthday Chicks for quite a while and this is their first time seeing ink.  I cut the letters twice, once in thick white card and once with snippets of patterned paper.  After sticking these together, I placed them on the card and stamped the chicks where I wanted them to be.  I stamped the chicks again on another piece of colouring card, coloured with copics,  and fussy cut them out.  I didn't cut round their feet and tassels as they were too fiddly, but when I stuck them onto the card they matched up well.

The sentiment is from the same set and I've added some sparklies in matching colours.

I would like to enter:

MFT Weds Sketch 482
Ally's Angels - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Weds - Anything Goes

At the moment the sun is shining so I will be doing a bit of gardening again today.  I hope you can find something nice to do too.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and I will be back again tomorrow.

FAVOURITE DIE AT AYLI

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are well and making headway into your Christmas preparations.

It is time for the last challenge of the year for the team at As You Like It and for this fortnight we would like you to showcase a project using your favourite die.

I must admit I do have a few favourites, but for Christmas cards this MFT tree die is ideal as it makes quick and easy cards without having to spend ages colouring an image.  I have added silver mirri card for the mat,  a heat embossed sentiment from a Penny Black set, added strips of glitter under the die and a few green sparklies to finish.

I know you must all be busy but I hope you get some time to enter the challenge and have the chance to win a prize from the fabulous sponsors, Lili of the Valley.

I would like to enter:

Christmas Kickstart - Last Minute Madness
Cupcake Inspirations - Holidays
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Dream Valley - Christmas
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything Goes
C.R.A.F.T. - Christmas: The last stretch

I would like to thank you for visiting during the past year and for all the lovely comments that have been left and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

SANTA AT SPARKLES CHRISTMAS

Good Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new month which means a new challenge over at Sparkles Christmas and this month the theme is Santa.

For my DT card I've used a Santa from the MFT set Jingle All the Way.  I've used a background stamp purchased on Facebook, which has been heat embossed with clear embossing powder and I've had a little play by colouring in some of the little objects.  This was a bit of an experiment using different types of pens to see which worked best.  I tried copics, glitter pens, coloured pencil and a metallic pen, but everything is so small it's too hard to tell the difference.

Santa was coloured with copics, fussy cut and attached to the card with added  glitter and a little pom pom on his hat. The sentiment, which comes with the set, was heat embossed in gold.

I think I will try this with white embossing next time.

If you have any Santa themed cards we would love to see them, it's certainly not long to go now before we have to start sending them out.

I would like to enter these challenges:

Fab n Funky - Christmas
Simon Says Stamp Weds - Anything Goes
Colour Crazy Craft wk 43 - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz Challenge - Anything Goes

A very wet day here and I think it's going to continue over the weekend, but wherever  you are, I hope you have a good one.

SANTA'S ELF

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you had a good weekend.

I've had this little chap half coloured on my desk for a while and when I saw the latest MFT sketch challenge I though he would be ideal for it , so I had a play yesterday and finished him off.

This is the sketch I followed:

I coloured the image with copics and added snippets of red across the middle and a snippet of striped paper from an old LOTV Christmas pad. I embossed a small snowflake onto the larger bauble and stamped and fussy cut 2 small holly sprigs to  stick either side of the sentiment, which is embossed in white and is from a different MFT set.  The whole thing was stuck onto a red 5" x 7" card blank (much neglected, I must use them more!).

I would like to enter these challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Di's DigiDesign - Handcoloured image
Creatalicious #171 - Anything Goes

Have a good week and thank you for visiting.  It is much appreciated when you leave a comment, I do love to read them.

Hippo Bird-Day

Good Morning Everyone,

I've had a little play whilst it's been wet and rainy and thought I'd enter another sketch challenge.

This is the card I've made based on this sketch:

I've used MFT Happy Hippos stamp set and am pleased to say I've used lots of snippets so I can enter into Pixies Snippets Playground.   The hippo, birds and banner (which looks a bit wonky on the photo, but isn't irl) were all from snippets of copic paper and both lots of backing paper were also found in my snippets boxes.  Everything that needed to be was coloured with copics and then fussy cut.  I stamped the balloons where they were going to be on the paper and then glued the fussy cut ones on top so I didn't have to actually cut out the strings.

Other dies used were Lawn Fawn hillside borders, cloud outlines and the banner.

I would like to enter:

Di's DigiDesign - Things with wings or tail
Penny's Paper Crafty 440 - Anything Goes

Thank you for taking the time to visit and have a lovely week.
