The promised treat

Before I show you what I received in the mail yesterday, I'll quickly show you a few more fabric beads I made. I took apart a scarf I had bought at a recent boot fair and used snippets of the brocade and velvet with a little bit of lace on base beads made with a cotton/linen mix cut from a hole-y French tea towel -

I love making these!

Now for the treat I promised you in yesterday's post. Better make yourself a coffee or cup of tea, there are lots of photos. The package which arrived yesterday came all the way from Australia ( at record speed, I hasten to add ), and that can only mean one thing - it was from Suzy!!!

I know you are all familiar with Suzy and her beautiful work, so you can understand that I was super excited. I had known it was on its way, but I didn't expect it that quickly. What did it contain? Nothing less than a one of a kind Suziqu's Threadworks exclusive fabric book! It arrived wrapped in the most beautiful velvet fabric -

I really don't need to say anything else, do I, just sit back and enjoy the beautiful nature inspired pages -

I keep picking it up and studying the pages, there is just soooo much to see and admire.

I have a little bit more to show you, that will have to wait until tomorrow though. For now I wish you all a very happy day and thank you for visiting. Toodlepip xxx

I can't wait any longer

I was so hoping that we would get a little bit of sunshine, or at least fairly bright weather for an hour or two so that I could take photographs, but, sigh, it just rains and rains and rains. And even when it doesn't rain, it is still so dark that taking pics is almost impossible. But, as the title says, I just couldn't wait any longer, I took some photos, but they really don't do the subject justice. Whats the subject? Ah, you may have already worked that one out, lol. A little while ago, I bought some 'wearable art' from my darling friend Suzy of Suziqu's Threadworks, and it arrived a few days ago. Most of you will have seen pictures of it on a couple of her blog post, but if you are fairly new around here, and haven't come across her yet, then you can drool over her amazing creations HERE.

And here is that awesome piece of wearable art -

At the moment, it is pinned to a lovely long and loose black velvet jacket, but it was impossible to photograph that in this light.

And being the wonderful woman she is, she also sent me some trims and pieces of gorgeous fabrics -

There is only one art brooch left in her Etsy shop as I write this, so if you would love to get your very own piece of Suziqu wearable art, then you had better hurry over HERE.  I absolutely adore mine. Thank you, Suzy, you are amazing!!!

I am excited

Oh yes, I am! Because my darling friend Suzy from the sublime Suziq's Threadworks blog has finally put some exquisite creations in her Etsy shop and I bought one of them! I adore her creations, I am so lucky to have some of them already, but when she created some stunning wearable art, I just had to have one of the pieces. Most of you will have seen her new wearable collages on her blog already, but I am so excited, I just have to show you the one I picked -

It wasn't easy choosing one, because all three are incredibly beautiful. If you are quick, you might still be able to find the other two in her Etsy shop HERE, but hurry, they won't be there for long.

My very own one is on the way to me now, yay! AND............. I have also ordered a new lens for my camera, nothing special but a little bit better than the one which broke. So, hopefully I will have the camera working again for when my gorgeous new Suziq Original arrives, and I'll be able to show you all the wonderful details.

I think until I can take photographs again with my proper camera, I will sort through my pics from France and find some which I haven't shown you gals yet. I am sure there are some which I took of some interesting buildings etc which haven't made it onto the blog yet.

Until tomorrow, toodlepip xxx

Second WOW and third WOW!

I told you yesterday that I had two more absolutely gorgeous gifts from very dear bloggy friends. Both of them are so beautifully made, they take my breath away.

From my very dear friend Dorthe in Denmark, I received this stunning package -

Isn't this card just the loveliest? So many beautiful little details

Dorthe is one of those people who are so good at wrapping everything with so much flair, just look at this -

Inside were these lovely pieces of ephemera, and some of Dorthe's stunning skeleton leaves -

And then there was this beautifully wrapped package. Aaah, those gorgeous jewel colours! -

and inside? I squeezed it very gently, and it was soft, and my heart skipped a beat, because I thought it might just be one of Dorthe's stunning fairies or mermaids. So I opened it carefully, and then a huge smile spread across my face, because it really really was one of Dorthe's creations. And in the same gorgeous jewel colours as the packaging! WOW. -

Isn't she the prettiest little darling? She is going to live with her sisters in France, of course. Dorthe is another one of my bloggy friends, who one of these days will get the biggest RL hug, hopefully in France.

And now to the third WOW. My lovely lovely bloggy friend Suzy also sent me the most adorable gift, you are so going to drool over this one as well. I adore her style, so you can imagine how thrilled I was to receive this -

This beautiful card is so typical of her, just gorgeous -

When I took the wrapping ( dressmaking pattern paper ) off, I found this inside, something wrapped in pieces of the most sumptious fabrics -

and underneath those fabrics was this, drooooool -

All those amazing little details -
on the back, her label -

Sooooooooo beautiful -

This lady is also destined to receive a great big RL hug, lol, as she is planning to travel to France next year!

I just love my bloggy friends. I know I don't say it often enough, but it really does mean so much to me, when I read your comments, get your emails, when we exchange or receive gifts. And my silent followers, of course, who may not say much, but who are there and keep me blogging. THANK YOU SO MUCH, EVERYBODY!

Which kind of reminds me to remind you that the CELEBRATION GIVEAWAY IS ON until next Tuesday. If you haven't entered yet, you can do so on this post -
