Every now and then I have a little pink moment, like a couple of days ago, when I came across a few battered old silk blossoms I had stashed away at the cottage. When I spread them out on the little table by the window, the little pink roses looked so sweet against the very light green of the dried hydrangeas, I had to take a few pics -
I am linking this post to Beverly's PINK SATURDAY at her How Sweet the Sound blog. Lots more pink loveliness to see over there!
Have a wonderful weekend wherever you are,

Always pretty in pink
I haven't taken part in Beverly's PINK SATURDAY for ages, but a little boot fair purchase made me think that I really oughta. One of my favourite sellers was at the boot fair the last time I went, and I had to purchase a few things, of course. You see, this lovely fella has been selling beads and sequins from his aunt's estate for the last few years. His auntie was a dressmaker, specialising in beaded evening gowns and costumes, and going by what her family has been selling over the last 4 or 5 years, her stash must have been enormous! Last Sunday, amongst other things, I bought a bag of these absolutely gorgeous very light shell pink sequins from him and I really wanted to show them to you, because they are so so pretty. Had to include a few other pinks as well though, lol, you know me, a couple of pics are never enough for a post!
Anyhoo, here are the sequins I so fell in love with -
And here are a few other pinks, which I brought back from France -
I'll show you some of the other goodies I bought from him in another post.
Thanks for stopping by. Toodlepip xxx

Our Beautiful World week 3 - LACE
Over at the Our Beautiful World blog, the word prompt for this week is LACE. Oh my, I could almost see myself posting about a million and one photos. Lace I have, even here at the cottage in France, a bit of lace has got to come with me every time I pack my craftacase in England to come to France. But you have seen so many pics of my laces already, I thought I show something else, a bit of LACE crochet I am working on, a scarf for Vicki's Pink Scarf project. MY WIP is resting on a beautiful antique LACE crochet bespread which I found at a brocante a week or so ago. Incredible workmanship -
And talking of crochet lace, I do have lots of small table cloths with the most amazing crochet lace trims at the cottage. Here are a couple of them -
The indoor photos are pretty crap, these old cottages are so dark inside, but I wanted to show you the gorgeous cloths and I hate flash.
It would be really great if you could join in the fun over at Our Beautiful World and link up a pic or two.
I am also linking this post to the quite wonderful Pink Saturday linky party over at Beverly's How Sweet the Sound blog, perhaps a few more people will join Vicki's Pink Scarf Project if they hear about it.
I just picked veggies from our little veggie patch, oh my, this is soooo satisfying. Potatoes, beetroot, peas, and raspberries, blackcurrants and whitecurrants for a summer pudding. YUM.
I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday, toodlepip xxx

A little bit of PINK
I was rummaging through a box of doilies and tablecloths this morning, and I came across a few pink and pink trimmed pieces. It reminded me that it was Pink Saturday today over at the How Sweet The Sound blog, so I took a few pics to share with other Pink lovers.
First up is this sweet flower doily in the softest shell pink and green -
So sweet and romantic, don't you think?
Next, a set of dressing table or sideboard doilies, a larger centre one and a couple of smaller side ones in a much richer deep pink -
This next one is a gorgeous crocheted white tablecloth trimmed with pink -
Oh, and this little doily is so sweet as well -
I have a set of these tea napkins in a kind of salmon pink colour -
and lastly, I just had to take a photo of this gorgeous vintage French chocolate box. I love the all gold interior and the beautiful rose fabric covered lid. The roses are a kind of errmm, rusty? pink -
Wishing you all a lovely PINK Saturday, and a beautiful Sunday for tomorrow.

Second one finished
Remember I showed you the beginnings of my granny square scarf last week? Well, the few squares I had completed whilst sitting in front of the fire in our little French cottage. I actually managed to finish it while we were there. I have decided that I do like crocheting a heck of a lot better than knitting, so the third scarf for Vicki's Pink Scarf Project is probably going to be a crocheted one as well. But I am getting ahead of myself, lol, you want to see pics of the finished scarf, don't you?
Here you go -
And as this is a very pink post indeed, I am linking it to the gorgeous PINK SATURDAY linky party over at Beverly's How Sweet the Sound blog.

Pink Saturday
I haven't done a Pink Saturday post for ages, but as I am knee deep in pink wool at the moment, it seemed a good idea to post my scarf progress on this Pink Saturday.
I bet you all know about Vicki's PINK SCARF project by now. So many people have already contributed and you can see some of the gorgeous creations on her post here. I remember showing you the beginnings of my first scarf quite a while ago. Well, at long last that very simple scarf is finished, and I have started on my second one. I love granny squares, so I am making a pink granny square scarf -
This was the first scarf I made, a knitted one with little flower embellishments. I found some really sweet scarf pins with pink beads, perfect to go with the pink scarves, I think -
Happy Pink Saturday!

Pink Scarf Project
A little while ago, my friend Vicki from the 2 Bags Full blog posted about her year long project called the Pink Scarf Project.
Please read all about it HERE on her blog. Such a very worthwhile cause and of course I wanted to make a scarf as well.
As you know, we are in France at the moment, and as you also know, our cottage is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Now, I had some pink wool which I had bought in the summer,
and I had crochet hooks, but knitting needles? Nope. And no wool shops or haberdashery shops in the nearest town ( 13km ) to get any. So I started making a few embellishments first, and waited for the brocante shop in a town nearby to open on Wednesday. And I got my knitting needles there, yay! Pink ones, of course! -
I am a very basic knitter, but I thought that with some pretty flower embellishments even a plain scarf would look nice. The wool I used for the scarf is very fine, as I wanted a very fluffety light scarf,
and for the flower embellishments I used a slightly thicker pink yarn
and the most delightful deep raspberry pink, very fine silk/metallic yarn -
You gonna get lots of pink pictures now, lol, because it all looked so sweet! -
I am really enjoying knitting and crocheting at the moment, it gets dark quite early now, and it is so cosy and comfy spending the long evenings sitting by the fire and playing with wools.

Oh, I might just link this post to Beverly's PINK SATURDAY at the How Sweet the Sound blog, even though the theme over there this week is mostly fall stuff.
