Friendly Game of Cards

I have group of friends that comes to our place to play card games. We play a game called "tong-its". As my hubby said it looks like it is a mix of a game tonk and rummy. It is a Filipino card game and when we play it we usually play it for hours and hours without stopping.

Technically, we also stop the game for a break to eat. Well, knowing us Filipinos, we always love to eat so whenever we have a card game expect that the Filipino foods are overflowing.

We play card for little money. It is our form of entertainment. Our game nights are not just about game it is about getting together, sharing laugh, eating Filipino foods and bonding for us and our kids.

I know that it is also a form of gambling but it doesn't bother us because win or lose we always have a lot of fun. The camaraderie is always good for everyone. Some of my friends have tried online gambling and even tried going to casinos but it is not as much fun as we always have, that is why we just stick to our friendly game of cards.

Speaking of casinos, have you ever seen the movie Casino? The movie is based on the Nicholas Pileggi book. This movie is directed by Martin Scorsese, an action packed crime drama movie that was based on the true-life adventures of Frank Rosenthal in Las Vegas. A very good movie that you should watch.

Match Games

Every now and then I entertained myself with different games online. I actually think that I am good at playing Match 3 Games. Just yesterday, I got hooked at playing Fishdom. This game allows you to decorate your own aquarium and you can buy all the items you need at the shop. You will need money to spend and you can earn money every level. This is a really fun game especially if you like having your own aquarium virtually. Fishdom game can be found at Online Match 3 Games.

There are plenty of games that you can play and choose from at Match 3 Games. If you don't have unlimited internet use, you can Download Match 3 Games so that you can play them offline. The games that I have tried which for me are all very exciting are: Jewel Search, Bloxxy, and Pirates Treasure. When I have extra time, I will check more games.

Poker Tools

Poker is a game of equal chance, along with games like cribbage and dominos. Equal-chance gaming are equally favorable to all participants. Games of chance like poker which is played for money or money's worth are subject to legal controls. In games like this, criminal exploitation can happen that is why there are legal controls in order to protect the players and the games.

I always enjoy watching poker games specially the poker world series on tv. I also get excited when poker "escalates" as players bet against each other. At the heat of the game's excitement players may be drawn into risking larger and larger amounts of money without appreciating the odds of losing. Playing poker is really fun.

If you want to learn about this game, you can visit poker pro labs. In this website, you can find the most advanced poker tools and you will be able to get access to poker rankings and poker statistics. You will also be able to find ranking information on any player on the major poker sites. On top of that, you will also be able to find tourney results and leader board. Anything and everything about poker can be found at poker pro labs.

Peek-a-boo

Peekaboo (also spelled Peek-a-boo) is a game played with babies. In the game, the older player hides their face, pops back into the baby's view, and says Peekaboo! sometimes followed by I see you!

While we went out to dine last weekend, Andrea met a boy (almost) her age at the next booth. They were having so much fun playing peek-a-boo. You can hear their giggles. It was a cute scene. I was thinking.... were they just plainly playing or were they flirting.... ???? Hmmp! Hahaha

Treasure Madness

Both Dave and I are addicted to Treasure Madness. We enjoy this game so much. We enjoy digging for treasures, playing mini games and collecting different treasures. It is also fun to exchange treasures with your friends.

We are so addicted to this game that we stayed up all night to play this. They just made a new revision yesterday. Instead of waiting 6 minutes for your Health Points to back up, they made it 3 minutes. Personally, I don't like it because the wait is too short.. which means I can't do other things like bloghopping or update blogs while waiting for my Health Points.

The good thing with the new 3-minute timer, I have reached to level 45 quickly.

Tong-its

Tong-its is our form of entertainment. We play tong-its, enjoy eating, and of course the endless talking.

Out of curiousity, I searched tong-its online and I was amazed that there is a website for tong-its. I was really shocked that there is an online tong-its where you can play with your friends. Tong its is the most popular card game in the Philippines. Anyone familiar with other rummy games such as Gin Rummy or Mah Johg can easily learn to play Tong its. It is a fun fast moving game. It encourages players to work together but in the end it's winner take all.

I couldn't wait to tell my friends that there is tong-its online. Haha can you imagine if we will just play online rather than in person. I bet it wont be as much fun as in person. There will be no constant interaction when it is online... so.. i will just stick to the real game.

Addictive Game

I admit, during my spare time, playing online games makes me feel relaxed and rejuvenated. I feel rejuvenated because while I am playing the game, I will concentrate on the game and I give my full attention, thus forgetting my present world.

I found some games at MagNext Virtual and I got hooked! It gets so exciting that I got addicted to it. I swear I spend hours playing it.

MagNext Virtual is an out of this world high tech place in space built for racing and riding. You can meet a lot of magnetic kids and kids at heart and play against them. In fact, you can invite your friends to join the fun. The more friends you will invite the merrier. The coolest thing about this MagNext Virtual is you can collect Magz and use it to buy special paints, special skills and even super cool gear.

The game that I got so addicted is the Spheron Triple Racer. This game is like you are in a real race. At first I didn't do good, perhaps because in real life I don't know how to drive. After a while I got the hang of it and I was speeding like a race car driver! I had so much fun with this game.

Another game that I like is the iCoaster. This game requires quickness so that you will get bonus with the unused time. It is fun to look for the missing part of the coaster. It is like looking for the missing puzzle. I enjoy this game because I challenge myself to do better (time-wise) as I play it over and over. This game for me is very educational.

If you are looking for some challenge, play the games at Magnext Virtual. I am sure you will have so much fun.

Up Words

Up Words is a word game (obviously!). It is somewhat similar to scrabble. The difference is the board and its letters. The board is plain and the letters does not have a score on different tiles. Another difference with the scrabble is that, in up words letters can be stacked on top of other words to create new words. The higher the stack of letters, the more points are scored. This often makes words built in later turns of the game more valuable than earlier words, increasing play intensity.

The words may be formed horizontally or vertically on the grid, as in Scrabble, but as the title suggests the letters may also be stacked, so that words can be changed by having letters substituted by stacking (up to a limit of 5 high).

I always enjoy playing word games. Dave and I has played this game and we had fun. I think up words is not as popular as scrabble but in my own opinion, i think this game is very challenging.

For more info about up words you can visit: Wikipedia and BoardGameGeek.

WORD Factory

I love playing word games. The first board game that I learned was Scrabble. I think I learned playing it when I was in my elementary years. After few years, I wanted a more challenging game and that was when I discovered WORD Factory. What I enjoy most about it is the time limit. Then, we decided to play with minimum of 4-5 words, just to make the game more difficult.

When I learned about free games online, I was hooked to different games. I played most of the free word games online.

A little info about WORD Factory game.

Word Factory was first distributed in 1978 and is still in circulation up to the present in the Philippines. This is the Philippines version of boggle.

The game was first patented in the Philippines, and is currently being manufactured and distributed to selected retailers by the Philippines-based game manufacturer, 13 P.M. Enterprises. Word Factory was a variation on the version of Boggle as it existed in 1978: using a 5x5 grid instead of a 4x4 one, and using plastic dice instead of wooden ones. At present, the game is being marketed to other countries, targeting mostly migrant Filipino families.

The game begins by shaking a covered tray of dice. Each die has a different letter printed on each of its sides. The dice settle into a four by four tray so that only the top letter of each cube is visible. After they have settled into the grid, a three-minute timer is started and all players simultaneously begin the main phase of play.

Each player searches for words that can be constructed from the letters of sequentially adjacent cubes, where "adjacent" cubes are those horizontally, vertically or diagonally neighboring. Words must be at least three letters long, may include singular and plural (or other derived forms) separately, but may not use the same letter cube more than once per word. Each player records all the words he or she finds by writing on a private sheet of paper. After three minutes have elapsed, all players must stop writing and the game enters the scoring phase.

In the scoring phase, each player reads off his or her list of discovered words. If two or more players wrote the same word, it is removed from all players' lists. Any player may challenge the validity of a word, in which case a previously nominated dictionary is used to verify or refute it. For all words remaining after duplicates have been eliminated, points are awarded based on the length of the word. The winner is the player whose point total is highest, with any ties typically broken by count of long words.
