And A Little Eye Candy For Ya
My girls and my Mom had a birthday lunch for me today. My Birthday was Sat., but we had to go to a wedding in Columbus, Ohio--about 150 miles from where we live. Get a load of Joe Joe. He is crawling and pulling himself up and walking around the furniture. They Grow so very very fast. I can't believe he will be 8 months old on the 19th of this month!! We had a great visit and a great day. I decided to leave a little early as I was very tired--on the way home the ball joint on the passenger front of the car broke. Car still ran and looked ok so I prayed and got home safe--then we even got it to the dealership. I will get it back Thurs or Friday. In the meantime I will have to drive the truck to work tomorrow. I consider myself one very lucky woman that the tire stayed in place through the 25 mile ride from where it broke and then the 10 meal ride to the dealership. You can view the post below for some new knitting content.

Meet The Prima Donna
Out of 10 grandchildren I have 2 grandaughters--this is the youngest She is 5 going on 35. She took a magazine to the hairdressers to show them how she wanted her hair cut. And she would much rather shop for shoes and clothes than play outside. Now I don't know about your daughters--but when my daughters were 5, they didn't really care about their hair or what they wore--they just wanted to play outside. These are some new clothes she got on Wed. The dress and shrug are for her graduation from preschool. She really is a sweetie.
I am taking a sabbatical from knitting for a few weeks. My right shoulder has been bothering me for about a month and a half, and since I am a right handed thrower I am giving it a rest. It is constant movement for my shoulder, and I am already noticing a difference after only 3 days. So hopefully if I lay off the knitting for a few weeks it will heal.
Now don't fret--I have switched to crochet and am working on an afghan for the newest grandbaby. All of my other 9 grandchildren have received this afghan. I will post pics at a future date. Also have a finished pair of socks to show ya but haven't taken a pic yet. so Happy knitting to all.

Eye Candy
Just a little eye candy for ya. Little Joey will be 5 months old on the 19th. The trio is Little Joey, his big brother Ian, and my baby daughter Andi--Joey's mom. Big bro Nathanial was upstairs on the computer and Dad and Ashly were not home. Got to have lunch out today with my mom, daughter and little Joey. We had a great time. I am finally well enough for some quality family time. Not sure what I had, but it sure did kick my you know what. Little Joey is sure growing up fast--cooing, laughing rolling over. And he sure likes to be held--while you are standing--maybe just a wee bit spoiled. Happy knitting to all.

Family Day
Well--went to my baby daughter's on Thursday. She was 35 on Tuesday so we were celebrating her birthday. My mom was the only other person who could come, so I didn't get to see all my children. We did really have a nice day. Andi cannot eat dairy-d/t allergies by Lil Joey. So I didn't buy her a cake, but a cherry pie instead. Due to heavy work schedule this week, and exhaustion, did not have time to bake.
Lil Joey turns 3 months old today. He sure is getting big. He is cooing and smiling and oh so cute...He is also very spoiled-as babies should be. I can't believe the age of my baby--and wonder where all the years went.
Not much knitting content. I am knitting a hat for Megan Read the post for Sun. Jan 13 to see about this on NHknitting mama's blog. I hope to finish it later today after I do some cleaning. Happy Knitting

Family Day
Yesterday was another wonderful family day. First had lunch with my Mom and had a great visit. Then she and I went to see my oldest daughter--and once again, another great visit. She has fibromyalgia and has not been feeling well--so we didn't overstay our welcome as we wanted her to be able to lie down. Then off to my Mom's for more visiting and a little knitting time. I had to laugh, because for some reason--unbeknownst to us--we have both been addicted to knitting dishcloths this month. (I call them dishrags) My husband insists he never heard of the term dishrags and where did it come from. Have called them that all my life. Will post pics at a later date. They are taken but not downloaded into the puter at this time. After leaving my Mom's, I went and saw--guess who--my youngest daughter and her kids--and of course Baby Joey is one of them. Alas--in my rushing to leave home I forgot the camera. :o( He has really grown, and when my youngest daughter turns 35 next week I will take pics for you all. I am starting to feel a little better--Christmas really tired me out this year. I have been working about 2 days a week--that way I can save some money and not work so much in the summer when it is really nice out. The warm temps and rain have melted away our foot of snow--but that is ok--as we are promised more snow later this week. It is supposed to hit 70 degrees today. Lovely NE Ohio! Well happy knitting to you all.

Another Family Day
What a difference 3 weeks makes. He sure is growing. My daughters Toni and Kelly, my Mom, and myself babysat little Joey while his Mom and Dad finished up some Christmas shopping. Two cousins, little 5 year old Alli and 13 year old Allen were also in attendance. What a joy and privilege. Toni was the official diaper changer!! The rest of us laughed and said, "We hold, we feed, we play with, but we don't do diapers." Good thing Toni was there. (Just a joke of course) We had a great day sharing each other's company and laughing about the good old days when my kids were small. And of course my mom told some wild tales about my brother and I. Great day had by all. Also got to visit with Andi and Big Joey after they got home. Poor Toni got called away early because one of her boys was throwing up at school. Ahh, those days are gone for me.. Well just thought I'd share a little eye candy and some of the good things in life. Hope you all have a great day--and--Happy Knitting.

A Week Gone By
A little eye candy for ya. He keeps getting bigger and cuter all the time. They are just too sweet when they are little.
Had a really busy week last week. Realized on Tuesday that I was going away for the weekend to a spiritual retreat that I forgot all about--so rushed around getting ready to go. Thought about not going, but it was already paid for. Went Wed. and with my middle daughter and got to baby sit the baby while his mom went to the library. She only stayed gone about 1/2 hr. or 45 minutes then came back and we all had a nice visit. Thursday did laundry and packed for the weekend. Went on the weekend which was really much needed. The time away from phones, TV, etc did me good. Some people actually brought their laptops. I don't know about you--but 3 days away from all of that was really great. I did, though, finish a sock while I was there--so I guess I can't say too much. But it is so easy to knit and listen to the speakers at the same time. It actually helps keep me focused.
Christmas sure is creeping up fast. Need to do my Christmas shopping--don't know why--but I just cannot seem to get into it this year.
We are getting some nasty weather right now--but the reports I hear and the blogs I read tell me that to the the west of us and to the east of us it is much worse--so I will not complain. Winter isn't my favorite time of year as I get older. I never used to mind it, but the cold really gets to my old bones anymore. So I stay indoors as much as I can and dress warm.
Happy knitting.

Baptism
Baby Joey baptized in the Catholic Faith today. Pics of Mom, Dad, and Brothers and Sister. It was a great day. Had a wedding feast for lunch!! Congratulations!
Someday this blog will revert to knitting again--instead of a Baby Joey Blog--when I have more time to do it. Have finished a coupla pairs of socks but since they are gifts they will not be posted till much later. I have also gotten the wrap sweater that I am working on for my 5 year old grandaughter about half done. There are lots of sweaters that I selfishly want to make for myself after Christmas--but too too busy right now.
Bought a new prelighted Christmas tree and it is up awaiting decorations. Maybe later in the week. I am usually done with all my Christmas shopping by now and I haven't even started yet. Getting more and more like my husband in my old age. It has been a really hectic couple of months with new baby, my back injury, husband's knee surgery etc. Hopefully things will calm down soon. I know that it can always be worse. Am now getting over a nasty head cold--so didn't hold the baby today--but Wed. my middle daughter and I are babysitting so Andi can finish a term paper for school. She said she is going to take next semester off. Now remembers how much work a new baby is. Well Happy Knitting To All.

Precious Moments
Here he is. Healthy as can be, and we love him so much. I got to see all my children and my Mom yesterday and it was a great day. I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week. My husband is having knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus next Tuesday, so it changed our plans a bit--but no big deal. We have a whole lot to be grateful for. We found out that one of our friends lost her husband on Wed. night so will be busy the weekend. Calling hours Sunday and Funeral Monday. Kinda puts life in perspective about what's important and what isn't. Haven't done much knitting or crocheting. I am sure it will pick back up soon. Gotta go clean now. Happy knitting to all.

Little Joey

Little Joey
Just a quick post. Poor little Joey is off to a rough start in life. He went back to the hospital last night for Jaundice. The biliblanket they had at home was not bringing down his bilirubin count. But with the bililight and IV it is now down from 21.5 to 16.2. When it gets down to 12 he can go back home. This is probably harder on mom and dad than it is on him--he still looks good other than being a little yellow. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

Little Joey Has Arrived
Little Joey arrived at 1:52 pm today weighing in at 7 lb. 10 oz, 19" long Mom and baby are doing fine. He is just adorable--of course would gramma think anything else?? He is 2 hrs old in pic I posted of just him. Big Sister Ashly. 16 Y. O. proudly holds Little Joey and is already starting to spoil him rotten--what else do you do with a new baby. Big Bro Ian, 9 Y. O., also loves holding his baby brother. Nathanial, 11 Y. O. opted not to hold him. He is has high functioning autism and does not care a lot for a change in his routine--but I know that he will adjust. We are so happy he has been delivered and all are doing well. Thanks everyone for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
