COMO AS COISAS DEVEM SER FEITAS

Originalmente construído por James Burton, em 1797, como estábulo para cavalos de trabalho doentes, The Horse Hospital, em Bloomsbury, Londres, converter-se-ia, mais de 2 séculos depois, num espaço artístico independente cuja actividade se concentraria em histórias sub-culturais, contra-culturais, de arte marginal e emergente assim como na organização de projecções cinematográficas underground e exposições. Fundado em 1992 por Roger K. Burton, iniciou actividades, em 1993, com "Vive Le Punk!", uma retrospectiva do design punk de Vivienne Westwood. Em Abril de 2024, durante a Crass Art Exhibition, seria aí apresentada a obra original de Gee Vaucher (bem como cenários e outros artefactos punk), dos lendários Crass. A exposição na galeria incluiu projecções, sessões de perguntas e respostas e actuações. Entre estas, Eve Libertine - outro elemento primordial dos Crass - apresentou-se com a guitarrista experimental chilena Eva Leblanc. (daqui; segue para aqui)

"Crass took the DIY ethic of punk to its extreme, controlling every aspect of their art and lives" – George Berger, author of The Story of Crass Celebratory, shocking and raw, this film is as close to the story of the anarcho-punk band as you're going to get... Crass were an art collective and punk band that formed in Essex in 1977, and disbanded in 1984. They promoted anarchism and a movement of resistance that awakened and appealed to many.
