What Can I Say?

Hello everyone! Pretend it's Tuesday. Yep, I'm a bit behind schedule again.Smiley from millan.net I missed posting my card for The Burtonesque Dolls on time. For shame!

This week's challenge at The Burtonesque Dolls is sponsored by Busy Beauties Boutique, purveyors of wonderfully whimsical digi images, including new ones based on Tim Burton's move The Corpse Bride.

 I have to admit, I haven't seen the Corpse Bride, but I read about it here.  It actually sounds like a pretty good movie. I may have to have Ian call it up for me on our in-home Netflix subscription.

So it was a bit a of a challenge for me (haha) to figure out how to approach the challenge, which is to think wedding (or divorce - eek), bridezillas, grooms with cold feet, etc., or just the creepy cool color scheme from the movie - ANYTHING inspired by The Corpse Bride will do.

I opted for the color scheme based on the few pix I saw. And, of course, having this cute digi image to play with made it easier. That's Little Lionel by Busy Beauties. My son Avery is the one who reminded me that his face should be blue-ish gray.

I followed Sketch Saturday #104, which calls for a sentiment. I had to scratch my head on this one. All I kept thinking was, "what should it say?," which lead to "What Can I Say?" So I printed that out, and viola!

The DP and stickers are from the June Bug collection by Basic Grey (that's supposed to be the moon... you have to use your imagination!). {LOL}

Anyway, the rest of The Dolls did a MUCH better job than I interpreting this fun challenge, so be sure to jump over to The Burtonesque Dolls and see for yourself... and to play along for a chance to win 5 digi images from Busy Beauties Boutique!

This will be my last post for The Burtonesque Dolls. Instead, I'm going to focus my attention on helping Betty launch her new stamp line, Simply Betty Stamps. I sure have enjoyed my brief stint with The Dolls (even though I feel a bit like a duck out of water)... you won't find a more dedicated, macabre-loving group than they! There are lots of fun things in store, so be sure to subscribe to The Burtonesque Dolls blog to stay up on the latest challenges.

See you back here again soon!

Don't Fret Dearie

Woot woot! It's time for our third challenge at The Burtonesque Dolls! We're being sponsored this week by Tickled Pink Stamps, the purveyor of a new exclusive line of stamps called Lil Lolita. My card features Lilith. (The greeting is by Papertrey Ink from the Scattered Showers stamp set.) Thank you Kellie for allowing us to play with your wonderful images!

Our challenge this week is Burton Elements... include skullies and black flowers in your project (cute ones). I immediately reached for my retired Stampin Up DP that you've been seeing a lot here lately (haha), plus those cute black spotted flowers from a past Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit, and voila! A very simple design, but I think one with a lot of pop. I'm not good at gruesome, so my cards tend to lean on the cutsie side... which is just fine. You can go any way you want with this challenge!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Dolls have created using Lilith and Ivy, and then come and play with us!!!

I hope you have a fret-free day!!!

The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge #2

We are on a roll now! It's time for our second challenge at The Burtonesque Dolls! The challenge this week is Burton chicks... create a card/project using any image that would fit in a Tim Burton movie. Okay, I think the sky's the limit on this one... anything a bit funky will do!

Our challenge this week is sponsored by The Wild Flower Patch, offering both rubber and digi stamps.

My card features Thistle, one of the new May releases. Okay, so I'm not very good at the gothic look... my Thistle looks glammed up with her sparkly shirt and skirt and her make-up on. She looks a little like me, don't you think? Yes, you have to squint really really hard... (*grin*)

The DP is something from my stash from looong ago... the Miniver Collection by Tracy Robinson for A2Z. That funky chipboard piece is by Pink Paislee.

The winner of this week's challenge gets to pick FIVE free digis from The Wild Flower Patch store!!! So come on and play! And be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the Dolls have created using WFP images!

Have a fabulous day!!!

Princess Maddie

This is my second post for today; please scroll down or click HERE to see my Tiddly Inks post. Thanks!

The day has finally arrived! It's the debut of The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge! Woot woot, as our fearless leader Betty Boo would say! This is a dream come true for Betty, and I'm absolutely thrilled to be along for the ride. We've got some amazing artists on the team, including my BFF Debbie Pamment (hi Debbie!!!), so I'm a happy girl.

Our first challenge is to use STRIPES in your card/project. Our sponsor is StampInsanity Stamps. The owner Beth very kindly allowed the Design Team members to play with some her images. My card features Maddie from the Zeke & Maddie Winter 2010 collection. Can you tell I put streaks of gold glitter in her hair? Maddie is such a fun image to play with!

The designer paper is by Stampin Up, but is retired. It's kinda funky, don't you think? And what would I do without my Zva swirls?

I played with Laura's Sketch 51 at 2 Sketches 4 You for this one.

Please jump on over to The Burtonesque Dolls blog to see the amazing cards featuring STRIPES and StampInsanity Stamps images... you'll be glad you did! And why not try the challenge? I'd love to see your Burtonesque designs!

Have a great day, my friends!

Shake Shake Shake Senora

Note: This is my second post for today. Please scroll down or click for this week's Tiddly Inks challenge card.

Woo hoo!!! It's nearly time for the debut of The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge blog, so we're celebrating with a Blog Hop!!! And, of course, we must do it Burton style, so our theme is Beetlejuice!!! As Beetlejuice would say, IT'S SHOW TIME!!!

The fun starts on The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge blog, so be sure to start there and follow The Burtonesque Dolls trail, collecting clues along the way so that you can enter to win some amazing Blog Candy!!! And I do believe some of the Design Team members are also offering some Blog Candy, including me!!!

Leave a comment on my post and you'll be entered to win a $10 Gift Certificate to The Greeting Farm!!! Perhaps you will use some of the money to buy the digi image I used for my card... Wild Sprout Dressy Ebony, who many refer to as Alice from Twilight. I had my son use Photoshop to remove the flower from her hair before coloring her up to be... guess who... Lydia, the goth girl in Beetlejuice who could see the ghosts. Remember, she was played by Winona Ryder? In case you forgot, here's a memorable scene from the move:

Unfortunately, I'm not artistic enough to color her uniform properly, but I do think Miss Ebony bears a resemblance to Lydia... if you squint!{LOL}

The clue you need from my blog is: While alone and insane encased in his tomb

Now on you go to Margie's blog for the next clue! Good luck!!! And enjoy!!!

P.S. I just realized that my card qualifies for the current challenge at Copic Creations, which is Black Hair. And what do you know, The Greeting Farm is sponsoring! Fingers crossed!!!
