Random thoughts

So, I'm back from CHA. Had a wonderful time. 

Here's what I discovered (as if I didn't already know):

You really can make friends on-line.

Some unexpected things I loved about the show:

hot dogs for lunch

chocolate softie ice cream cones for a snack

laughing and chatting with people I met by chance

(I get that from my mother)

Some things I didn't love:

LA traffic

coming home to a messy house

It's what I do...

Today (October 28) was Avery's 14th Birthday. We had a cake for him after dinner, but we'll be celebrating more on Saturday.

I love this kid more than life itself. I guess I finally figured out how to be a good mom by number 4. 

A few more things I've realized lately...

Baskin Robbins makes the BEST ice cream cakes ever!

I've lost 9 pounds! Which means I'd better not eat too much of Avery's cake...

Even though I'm definitely a fall/winter girl, I cannot deny that days like today in Southern California are the reason so many people want to live here...beautiful blue skies, white clouds, green everywhere (thanks to recent rains), a bit of a breeze, and temps in the 70's (20's C). The colors are so intense, it's intoxicating.

Chiropractic care and whole food supplements really do work. Thanks Lynn!

Sometimes people you thought were your friends really aren't your friends after all.

There are some things that happen in life that you will never get over.

Bottom line... life is definitely a study in contrasts.
