Smiley from millan.netAfter consulting with Random.org, the winner of the First Prize Package is SANDY, who said:

I absolutely love stories about mothers and daughters, thank you for sharing yours.
I would love SCAL for my birthday which is coming up in June. I also would like to go on a scrapping cruise, I think that would be a blast.
Happy Blogiversary.

And the winner of the Second Prize Package is Elaine Wilson, who said:

Happy Everything! If I could have anything I wanted, I would have a building built on my property just for stamping and to hold my stamping events in. And with a section in it that I could make into a little store to sell my craft items in. A big dream huh!?!?! LOL

Happy Birthday Clay and The Craft's Meow!

Today is my third son Clayton's 17th birthday. Happy Birthday Clay!!! Of course, he would be absolutely mortified if he knew I was writing about him on my blog. He's at that stage where everything I do embarrasses him. Ha!

Clay was my best pregnancy and easiest delivery of the four. He was the most beautiful baby...and I really mean that... perfect in every way. The best part about Clay's birth is that I shared it with my mother. She was there at my side, cheering me on, when Clay was born. She even cut the cord. It was the last best thing we ever did together... soon after, her cancer returned and claimed her life before Clay turned one. When I went back for the memorial service, many people came up to me and told me how thrilled she was to be there when Clay was born... how she loved to tell the story of how she "birthed" that baby. This is, and will always be, one of the most precious memories I have of my dear mother, who was the best mother and the best grandmother anyone could ever hope to have. I miss her terribly. If I'm any sort of good mother, it's because of her.

I have Collin scanning all my negatives for me (he's gotta do something besides sit around until he finds a job), but so far there are only a few of Clay as a baby. Here's one:

And here's a picture taken on Easter last month... terrible quality, but I have a terrible camera, and Clay is not the most cooperative subject.

That's my boy! He loves golf, working out at the gym, the Penguins, the Red Sox and mimicking people... which is really rather rude, except he's so good at it, it makes you laugh. I love him, even if he is a Terrible Teen! {LOL}

Anyway, this also happens to be my Second Blogaversary! Yep, I started this blog two years ago today, and featured this card that I had made for Clay (who loves penguins).

Isn't that funny! When I look back, I see how much my art has evolved. I remember when I first started out, I dreamed of being picked one day to be on a design team. I only had a handful of followers, but they were faithful to me. And then came followers who became dear friends to me... and now my cup runneth over! I am so lucky to be on several design teams, but mostly to have made some of the best friends a person could ever hope to have, all over this big world. It's fantastic!

So, of course, we must celebrate! Since it's my second Blogaversary, I have two prizes to offer:

First prize consists of the following stamps/stamp sets:

Kitchen Logic by Unity Stamp Company
Two adorable bear stamps by Ladybug and Friends
Best Fishes by Gina K Designs
Christmas Ornament Lala, Love Note Rosie, Running Clover,
and Lotus by La-La Land Crafts
Lottie and Gussie Gabalot, and
Georgina Glamourpuss by Stamping Bella

Second prize consists of three adorable stamp sets by Stamp and Smile.

For a chance to win one of these prizes, all you have to do is leave a comment here before 9:00 pm Pacific on Monday, June 14th. That's it! I won't bribe you to become a follower, although I'd love it if you were. I won't require that you post my blog candy on your blog, although I'd love it if you did. I want this to be fun and free wheeling. I'll announce the winners on Tuesday, June 15th.

Oh, but how about this... tell me what gift you'd like to receive on your next birthday if cost were no object... something you'd really love to have. I'll start by telling you mine: a new camera! One of those cool Nikons that Ashton Kutchar advertises. Now that would be heaven!

I just consulted with Random.org and about fell out of my chair when I saw who won. I clipped the image so no one would think anything fishy is going on:

Birthday Blog Candy Winners!!!

I'm sorry for being so late posting this announcement today. At least it's still Tuesday in California...at least for another 20 minutes or so. Ha!

First, I want to thank each and every one of you who entered my blog candy drawing... most especially for your good wishes for my birthday. I must say that this has been one of the most wonderful and memorable birthdays for me. Receiving 143+ greetings from my blogging friends was certainly a highlight!

When I say I wish I could send each and every one of you a gift, I truly mean that.

Okay, drum roll please! The winners have already been contacted to make their choices. They were allowed to choose their prizes in the order their names were drawn. I'm happy to say the first three winners each got her first choice, so that was lucky.

#85 Inbar from Israel - Hodge Podge of Stamps
#4 Dawn (Craftykitten) from the UK - Designer Paper
#21 1luvnmama from Hawaii - Paper Pretties
#49 Rosalee from Canada - Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps
#56 Victoria (Creativka) from Republic of Moldova - Build-A-Bear

I included the location of each of the winners to show what a diverse pool of crafters we are. Isn't it marvelous that we can make friends with people all over the world thanks to this incredible thing called the Internet?

By the way, I tried to respond to as many comments as I could, but many of you don't have your email addresses connected to your blog addresses nor anywhere on your blogs. I'm still trying to get around to visit everyone, so please bear with me.

Have a wonderful day!

So, how do you win?

1. Be or become a follower of my blog

2. Or subscribe or become a subscriber to my blog through Feedblitz

3. Link this blog post to the picture at the top of this post on the side bar of your blog to spread the word. If you don't have a blog, that's okay... just let me know when you leave a comment.

4. Leave a comment to enter the drawing... be sure to tell me whether you're a follower or email subscriber. If you're an email subscriber, please include the first part of your email address so that I can match it up. Also confirm that you have placed the blog candy photo and link on your blog sidebar... or let me know that you don't have a blog.

Oh, and just for fun, tell me which of the five prizes you would pick if you won. Don't worry, I won't hold you to it if you win. You can definitely change your mind!

5. I will verify that all these things are true of those whose names are drawn. To be fair to everyone, please enter only once and make sure you've followed all the rules.

I will use Random.org to draw the five winners

Enjoy! And thanks from the bottom of my heart for being a part of my blog family!

Blogaversary Candy!

Edited to add: The winner of my Blogaversary Candy is Rachel! Thank you all for supporting me and my blog. It means the world to me!

Hello my blogging friends! Have you missed me? It's been a crazy week. First, I was working on a special project, then it was prep for Stamp Club, and then Stamp Club, and then scrapbooking night with Susan, and then a trip to Temecula wine country (more on that later), and now I'm back!!!

Anyhoo, last Sunday was my one-year blogaversary. I decided I couldn't let it go by without a bit of celebration. After all, because of my blog, I've met some awesome people, made some forever friendships, and grown in my skills and my love of this great hobby. So, without further ado, here's what I'm offering:

Edited to add: As promised in my post announcing that I've been selected as a Jr Design Team member for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, I'm sweetening the Blog Candy to include the above stamp set called Echoes of Kindness (which is what I'm getting from all of you, thank you very much!). It's a Level II Hostess set, which is retiring at the end of June. It's brand new, although I've already mounted it for you.

I've purposely selected things that will fit into a flat rate envelope so that I can include all my friends from around the world. The winner of this blog candy will receive Stampin Up's Patterns Pack Designer Series Paper II (a Hostess Level I gift), which includes Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal, Brocade Blue, Basic Gray and Garden Green 6 x 6 designer papers... a total of 60 double-sided sheets; Mrs. Grossman's Limited Edition Heart Collection (over 265 stickers celebrating 30 years); and two Lelo Designs stamps: Bathtub and You Go First (can you say CUTE!). Just leave a comment on this blog post (in answer to the question below) no later than 5 pm Pacific time on Sunday, June 7th. If you are one of my Followers, you will get TWO entries into the drawing, so if you haven't joined me yet, now's a good time! I will annouce the winner on Monday, June 8th in the evening. And you never know... I might just slip something extra into the package...hee hee.

Here is the question: What is your favorite way to color your stamped images?

For me, that's gotta be Copics, baby!

Thanks for stopping by! I will back soon with a card to share.

And The Winner Is...

lucky #7: JenMarie! Congratulations, JenMarie! She said:

"What a beautiful giveaway! Hmmm...well, used to be purple...but I'm leaning more towards the lavendar end myself actually...and pinks!"

JenMarie, I'm out of town right now, but will be back home on Monday and will mail your prize to you on Tuesday. Please send me your snail mail address. You can email me at lhjulberg@charter.net.

I just browsed JenMarie's blog, Taylor Made by JenMarie. It's awesome! Be sure to take a peek.

I thank each of you, with all my heart, for being my very first blog candy entrants! I hope you will visit again. I will definitely have more blog candy when I reach another milestone. I'll think about what that should be... but I promise it won't be long!

I'll be back with more posts next week, when I'm back in town. Take care, and have a great weekend!

Blog Candy!!!

I promised Blog Candy once I received 1000 hits on my blog, and here it is...a little late, but better late than never, right?

I chose this set of prizes to honor my friend Susan (coffeeforme on SCS), who is my #1 stamping fan. She never fails to encourage and support me in everything I do. And, she got majorly addicted to SCS because of me! Anyway, Susan's favorite color is purple... or maybe I should say lavender. So everything here has the color purple.

The cards in the back are by The Paper Cut, called Square Overlay Kit in Husk & Eggplant, and includes 5 of each scored square window cards, window overlays, envelopes and text inserts. The patterned paper pack is by Creative Memories and includes 24 double-sided photo mats called Serene... all in shades of lavender, soft blue, and soft yellow... great for either scrapbooking or making cards! The stamp is by Hero Arts and measures 4 x 5 1/4. The ribbon is a cool purple stripe by Offray. Fun!

To win this blog candy, simply post a comment and tell me your favorite color... and why, if there is a why. For instance, I always say that green is my favorite color because it's the color of money! (LOL) My son Avery will draw a winner on Friday, August 15th at 7:00 pm PST.

Thanks for visiting my blog!
