Acrylic Christmas Tags

Good morning, Kirsten here with a scheduled post, hope you all had a lovely weekend. Today's projects are two acrylic tags from That's Crafty! & they are my final projects for October. As I said in a previous post, acrylic is very hard to photograph properly - at least it is for me - so if you're attending Lisa's next two classes you can see these tags there.

***When using any of the acrylic products from That's Crafty! always remember to remove the protective sheets from each side first.***

On one side of the first tag I applied Red & Green Starlights through the Imagination Crafts' Christmas Poinsettia panel stencil. As usual, I built up the colour by adding thin layers, allowing each one to dry before adding another. I also stamped the greeting from the Hobby Art Christmas Frosting stamp set with Jet Black Stazon ink. Again, always use Stazon, it's the only ink that will dry on acrylic.

When the Starlights & the Stazon were dry I turned the tag over & applied white gesso through the That's Crafty! Snowflake Background stencil.

Once the gesso was dry I used a brayer to apply Diamond Sparkle Medium to both sides of the tag & when that was dry I added gold Stickles to the centres of the poinsettias.

For the second tag I applied Diamond Sparkle Medium through the That's Crafty!
Snowflake Background Dinky stencil on to the back of the tag..............

When it was dry I used a stencil brush to pounce Blue, Mediterranean Sky & Mint Starlights on top of the Sparkle Medium..............

I left that to dry for a short while then applied Light Copper Sparkle Medium through the Imagination The Clearing stencil. I applied quite a thick layer for the moon, then tapped the tip of my spatula into the wet SM to add some texture. The 'snow' at the bottom of the tag is Diamond Sparkle Medium mixed with Cracked Ice Sparkling Glitter............

Christmas in Miniature

Happy Friday! And to those who will be attending Lisa's classes later - Happy Christmas Party Class day! :) We've been busy making preparations all week, there are numerous lists & we're hoping we haven't forgotten anything.

Lisa sent out the December newsletter on Wednesday, if you missed it you will find it HERE.

Today I'd like to show you the last of my November projects. I used the new-to-the-website Marianne Creatable dies Tiny Winter Village & Tiny Pine Trees......

Tiny Winter Village    Tiny Pine Trees

Here's the first card. I used a 6x6 card blank & scored & folded the front. the patterned paper is by Hobby House, from their Snowflake Flurry collection........

I die cut the elements from white card & used my finger to add a little Diamond Sparkle Medium. I made the hills from torn paper & added Woodware's Fluffy Stuff for the snow. For the lighted windows I coloured a scrap of card with a yellow felt tip pen, glued on the village & cut around the scrap card to remove the excess................

The reindeer is from Imagination Crafts The Clearing stencil. I applied embossing ink through the stencil with Cut & Dry foam onto white card, covered the ink with
WOW Pastel Blue embossing powder & heat set. I cut out the reindeer & added the detail on its back with white liquid pearls & Diamond SM............

The second card is also a 6x6. I used The Clearing stencil's reindeer again & also the large tree from the Fir Trees stencil, applying Diamond SM through them, then cutting out the shapes when completely dry........

The patterned card is from the Let It Snow collection by Hobby House.......

The tiny pine trees & village are as on the first card the background is the
Embossalicious Lattice embossing folder & the sparkly ribbon is from my stash...........

Thanks for visiting the blog today. I  hope to be back tomorrow with a review of today's classes, but as Lisa & I are going to an all day workshop tomorrow, it might be Sunday - which is when the new blog challenge starts, in case anyone is thinking about entering the current challenge. That ends at midnight tomorrow night.

Through A Window

Hello crafters, Kirsten here, hope you're well. Preparations are in full swing for the Christmas part classes next week & I'm coming to the end of my samples for November's theme of 'Christmas Sparkle'.

Today I have two cards to show you, both made with this hugely popular die from Cheery Lynn.........

Chicken Wire Frame

(Available for pre-order)

I used it to make a window for the first card..............

With an Embossalicious embossing folder & some Hobby House pearl medallions on the front. I used Soft Purple Sparkle Medium through Imagination Crafts' The Clearing stencil for the inside..........

I then used the die to make a card blank, adding a piece of Hobby House Aqua Flakes patterned card on the inside & another, punched piece wrapped over the side. I applied Diamond Sparkle Medium through the Imagination Crafts Christmas Celebrations panel stencil & when the SM was dry, cut out the stars & glued them to the background with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue........

The greeting is from the Woodware Clear Magic Patch Robin stamp.........

This is a great die, I found that using a piece of ordinary copy paper as an extra shim gave a perfect cut.
