Beautiful Lavinia Scene Scapes

Good morning all! How is February going for you? There has been lots going on the crafty world and Lisa has been busy at the NEC show looking for products for forthcoming classes...whoopee!! I think if I was there it would be like a child in a sweet shop...

This week it's a really quick Lavinia Stamps card from me, using one of the new Scene Scapes. I think it is important to remember that we don't always have to make really intricate cards for every occasion, and the Scene Scapes are perfect for these times!

If you like the effect of the Alcohol Inks we have been showcasing, but don't want to buy the actual inks and card to do it yourself, some of the newer scapes are perfect for you! You don't have to use them in their entirety and of course you can cut die cut them to your heart's content. I have even used them to cover a side of a pencil pot before and if I do say so myself, it looked very good!

My first step was to add a bit of interest to the side of my card. I quite like making a scene that you can look at and spy lots of different layers, so I chose a simple text stamp from the Artistic Stamper Encyclopaedia Britannica Set (46% OFF at the moment!!). I stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink a few times, repeating the text

My next step was to stamp the Zen Tree off to one side, on top of the text and the moon. I also wanted to create some depth of field, so used some torn paper and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to add a hill in the background and a tiny one at the front.

I coloured the bubbles on the tree with different marker tones to make them stand out a little more and add interest.

Next, I decided I wanted the Woodland Hares to be my main focal image for a change, so I stamped these with Tuxedo Black Memento as before. To add some more depth to the topper I chose various foliage stamps from the Lavinia range and stamped all around the front at different heights. Wanting to bring some sparkle in, (had to be done!) I chose some Stickles and added them to my tree bubbles and some of the foliage.

Picking out some tones from the image, I matted and layered onto a card blank and added a sentiment from a Hobby Art set.

There we have it! Not a tricky one, but I like it and I think I could even be used for a man's card: what do you think?

Lavinia Stamps Scene Scapes

Hello, Kirsten here, happy Monday.
I hope everyone had a great weekend. Thanks for all the comments you’ve been leaving since the start of the Lavinia Stamps promotion, which runs until Sunday night, so you’ve still time to enter the giveaway.

Two quick cards to show you today. Lavinia Stamps scene scapes are a great if you need a card n a hurry, or if your brain refuses to work & won’t give you any idea on how to create a nice background – as happens to me much too frequently.

All I did for this card was apply Chartreuse Sparkle Medium through the That Special Touch
daisy silhouette stencil onto the Scene Scapes 01 C6 card. I also masked off the butterflies while I applied the Chartreuse & when it was dry, replaced the stencil & applied Diamond SM for the butterflies.

(I've just noticed that these photos seem blurred. Apologies for that. Lisa has all my samples now, if I can get hold of the cards to retake the photos I will)

For this card I used the Pink Equinox scene scape. I stamped the Zen Tall Mushrooms onto the card with Onyx Black Versafine & heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I used a white pen to colour the clear sections of the stems & also dotted white onto the tiny mushrooms in the background.

I stamped the tops of the mushrooms onto Super Smooth white card, painted the windows with watered down Sunshine Satin Silkies, cut them out & glued them to the scene scape with

Using a small Spellbinders circle die as a template, I drew a very fine pencil line in the centre of the moon, then stamped the Card-io Flutterby Garden butterfly with Onyx Black Versafine ink, starting first at 12, then 6, then 3 & 9 before filling in the spaces. Once the ink was dry I erased the pencil line & finished with Stardust Stickles on the centres of the stars.

You’ll notice that with most of my samples this month I didn’t add a sentiment to them. Apart from one, I decided a greeting would detract from the images, so I left them out.

Thanks for looking, I’ll be back tomorrow with a Tuesday tutorial. Don’t forget there’s a new blog challenge, the theme is Lavinia Stamps & all the details are on the challenge page.

Zen Houses.......

**This post is part of the Lavinia Stamps promotion. Remember to leave a comment to be entered in the giveaway.**

Morning all, looks like it is going to be a bit brighter today........

Yesterday's boot fair went really well but I have so much stuff that I am off to another one today......Up at the crack of dawn again, I am a sucker for punishment!!!

So it is just a quick post for today........

I thought that as it is the Lavinia Promotion fortnight that I would refresh your memories with a couple of samples that I made for Tracey using her gorgeous Zen Houses.........

For this wall hanging I used a Moonlight Glow Scene Scape and the Small Pixies Stamp. I embellished it with the Zen Flower 3 and  Zen Mini Flowers...........

For this next one I created the background from scratch using torn paper for the mounds and cut card in to a cloud shape as a mask for the sky.......

The outer stamps is the Weaving Ivy.......

Well I am off now, wish me luck.......enjoy the rest of your weekend and I will be back on Wednesday with some more inspiration.....

Big hugs Lisa.B.x
