Little and Large.....

Good morning all and wishing you a great Wednesday.....

Today I wanted to show you a couple of cards using robins one of my favourite Christmas themes....
For the first one I used Woodware Clear Magic Tweet Birds and this is a lovely set and although I have made it a robin you could incorporate this set in to other stamps and make the birds in to different birds during the year......

I simply stamped the image in Versafine Black Onyx and embossed it with Wow Clear Sparkle powder and then stamped the image on to Kraft Card and a red and white spotty paper and then paper pieced the image......

I drew a base with a black fine liner and then used some Fluffy Stuff  and heated it with my heat gun to create a snow effect on the base of the card.....
I finished by adding some highlights with a white pen and then matting and layering on to my card using some black card and co-ordinating paper. I also stamped messages top and bottom from the Little Red Robin Stamp Set that I used for the second card......

For the next card I used as I said the Woodware Clear Magic Little Red Robin stamp set.......

Again I love this plump little robin, he is so cute and I love the patchwork look about him and he too is great for paper piecing.....

I done exactly the same as the first card but this time added an extra layer on the wing and 3d'd it. I also added some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink around the top of the card lightly to add some sky and some Red Stickles to the berries......

You can see the dimension of the wing at this angle........

Well that is all for today, thank you for visiting the blog and please leave us a comment as we love to read them.....
I will be back on Saturday with my regular post....

Big hugs Lisa.B.xx

October's Class Cards.....

*This post is part of the October promotion fortnight. Remember to leave a comment to be entered in the giveaway.*

Good morning all,

It seems an age since I blogged, as you know I have been very busy lately but the lovely Kirsten has been keeping you up to date with all my news and if you have been following on Facebook too, you will know that I am a little poorly at the moment with shingles!!!!
I can honestly say, I would not wish it on anyone and I have caught it early and on anti viral tablets so hopefully they will kick in and I will be fighting fit soon ;0)......

Anyway enough of me.......
As you know by now Kirsten and the girls run the October workshop as I was working away at Happy Stampers show in Liverpool with the fabulous Imagination Crafts. I designed the cards before I went and Kirsten and I got all the packeting done before hand and we kept it pretty simple as it was her first time running the class. It was a huge success and I would like to say a big thank you to Kirsten, Kate, Rosemary, Jan and Jo for doing such a great job......the ladies loved the class.....

Below are the two cards that I designed and the ladies made, they have all been paper pieced....... if you have not done it before, it is a great way of using up all those lovely scraps of paper that you just can't bear to throw away.......
The stamp I used was a Woodware clear magic stamp called Patch Robin, I adore this stamp......it is so easy to paper piece and looks great in all different colours whether it is traditional or contemporary.......

I added some Xmas Red Stickles to the berries at the end and some Gold Stickles to the crosses .......

For the second card I used Anna Marie Designs Christmas Tree Trio and I stamped and embossed the trees on to three separate pieces of coordinating  papers with Versafine Onyx Black and Wow Sparkle Powder.......

After stamping them on to my white base layer, I paper pieced them and then swiped my Clear Emboss Pad along the base of the trees and then added the sparkle embossing powder and heated to give a snowy base to the trees and then drew a line with my fine liner pen to add detail at the base......

Well that is all from me for now, I am off to write up more blog posts as that is about all I feel I can do at the moment, just really lethargic......

Take care all and I will be back on Saturday with another post.....

Big hugs Lisa.B.xx

Spring Flowers

Good morning everyone

Some Woodware Clear Magic Spring Flowers this week
which are available HERE

All the papers that I used are from the Frolic Perfect Prints 6x6 paper pad

Using Black Onyx Versafine, I stamped the flower image on to the pink paper
I then stamped the image on to a sheet of the butterfly paper and also a green paper
before cutting out the flowers and buds from the butterfly paper and the leaves from the green paper

I attached the pieces to the pink paper using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue
With a green Promarker pen I coloured the small leaves and centres of the flowers.  I also added some shading to the paper pieced leaves

I then layered the papers on to a Craftwork Cards Straight Edge 148x148mm card blank

To finish off, I added some Star Dust Stickles Glitter Glue for sparkle and
drew some dots and dashes with a black fine liner pen

Norman in Pieces

Hello blog visitors, Kirsten here. It’s Tuesday, so it must be my turn on the blog.

I didn’t have any idea what I wanted to do for my post this week, so I started by stamping Hobby Art's Norman stamp with black Archival & heat setting with WOW Clear Sparkle embossing powder, then colouring with Whispers watercolour pens. As I coloured I began to get an idea, so I stamped the image on a C6 card blank, again with black Archival & embossed with the Clear Sparkle EP.

Next I cut out some of the main elements from the first image. I cut them as close to the borders as I could, then ran around the white edges with a black pen.

As I was doing this I wondered if I could make a paper bauble to use as an embellishment, so I die cut six scalloped circles from a scrap of red core’dinations paper & folded five of them in half.

Using Cosmic Shimmer glue I began sticking the semi circles to one side of the unfolded circle, layering them on top of each other.

003

I used four semi circles & glued the other side of the fourth one to the left side of the base circle.

Voila! A Christmas bauble with added glitter on the finished card.
