Two quick and easy cards...

Good morning everyone

I've been a bit short of time this week, mainly due to visiting the
Craft, Hobby and Stitches Trade show at the NEC a few days ago with Lisa and Kirsten
We had a great time and as usual, Lisa is buzzing with ideas
and has lots planned for the coming months

I have two quick and easy cards to show you using the
Craftwork Cards Opulence Collection Pack
and a little bit of Lavinia...

You can see that I cut a square of blue and cream paper
(from the Lavinia Victorian Print Background Papers) and attached it to a
I then cut some strips of contrasting papers and attached them in the same way

I finished off by attaching a sentiment with
few blue sparkly dazzlers before using a brown fine liner pen to draw a
few squiggly lines

With this second card, I mat and layered two contrasting papers from the
and cut a white piece of card to size before embossing it with a lattice embossing folder
I attached some flowers, a sentiment, some dazzlers and Stickles Glitter Glue
to add some bling and sparkle!

Opulence card and tag

Hi! It's Georgina with my regular Thursday post.
Today I have a card and tag to share with you. I have used Craftwork Cards Opulence collection pack which is available from Lisa B. Designs for both items. I have used a similar design to my decorated mirror I shared with you on the blog last Thursday.

For the card I cut a square of black card which I attached to a 148x148mm white card blank. Onto this I added squares and rectangles of patterned paper from the Opulence pack. I added a selection of die cut flowers also included in the pack. To the centre of the flowers I added co-ordination Card Candi.

Across the bottom of the card I added a strip of black card and a large diecut sentiment. I added small black dots around the edge of the card with a black fineliner. To finish the card I added Platinum Stickles and Glossy Accents.

Following the same design I also made a matching gift tag.

Template Resist

Hello crafters, Kirsten here, I hope you’re all well.
I’ve got another resist technique card to show you today, using a template so that you get the effect in certain areas only.

009

I made a simple template by die cutting circles from a piece of kraft card.

005

Then I stamped the Joy Craft Vintage Flourish flower stamp with Victorian Velvet distress ink through a few of the circles, making sure I protected the remaining circles with scrap paper. Next, I used a clean piece of Cut & Dry foam to apply embossing ink through all of the circles. I removed the template & covered the circles with clear embossing powder & heat set.

006

The next step was to blend Weathered Wood DI over all of the card, then wipe it off the embossed circles with a clean cloth/paper towel. You could also use a baby wipe, but you need to ensure you don’t wipe off any ink from outside the circles.

007

I wanted to create the illusion of more depth, so I replaced the template, but I offset it just slightly. Then, using the edge of the blending foam, I applied more Weathered Wood DI. Again, be careful to keep the ink just where you want it, make sure it doesn’t mark other areas of the card. Remove the template & you’ve got shadows on one side of the circles.

008

To finish the card I die cut the Joy Craft Vintage Flourish coordinating die twice, on scraps of card I’d inked with Evergreen Bough & Victorian Velvet DIs. I cut the petals from the VV piece & glued them onto the EB die cut with Cosmic Shimmer glue.

I cut a piece of silver diamond mesh & added the die cut heart & greeting from the
Craftwork Cards Opulence collection. I covered the heart with Glossy Accents (it was still wet when I took the photo) & added a dew adhesive pearls. Finally, I framed the card with some scribbled lines & layered it onto a piece of CWC Opulence patterned paper.

That’s all for now, thanks for looking. There are still ten days left to take part in the blog challenge, we’d love to see more entries.

 Until next time, happy crafting.

Opulence mirror

Hi! It's Georgina with my regular Thursday post.
Today I have a decorated mirror to share with you. I used Craftwork Cards Opulence Collection pack available from Lisa B. Designs to decorate the mirror. All the patterned papers, diecut flowers and co-ordinating Candi is included in the pack.

To decorate the mirror I started by making the flowers. I popped out the diecut flowers and created different blooms. Some flowers I left as just a single layer, others I added dimension and added layered together.

To decorate the mirror itself  I cut out various sizes of squares and rectangles from the Opulence patterned papers. I lightly added Walnut Stain Distress Ink to the edges of the patterned paper shapes with a Blending Tool before adding to the mirror. I didn't cover all the mirror as I still wanted areas of black to show through.

Once I finished adding the patterned paper I then attached the flowers.
I added Platinum Stickles to the edges of the flowers. To finish I added Opulence Candi and also added Glossy Accents to the Candi too.

Return of the Friday Class

Good morning, happy Saturday.
Yesterday saw us return to Fant Hall in Maidstone for the first class of 2014.
It was wonderful to see everyone – it was only two months since the Christmas party class, but it seemed much longer -  & we were also delighted to welcome some new people.
The first priority was to peruse the new crafting goodies – all three tables of it.

Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday. We hope you had fun & enjoy playing with your new goodies.

In next month’s class, on March 7, we will working with stencils, inks & gilding flakes & there are a few places available in both the afternoon class – from 2.30 to 5.30 – and the evening class – from 6.30 to 9.30. (You get to keep your stencil, so you can have a play at home.)

Finally, if you’re doing any crafting this weekend, keep the new blog challenge in mind, it’s all about resist techniques.
I’ll be back on Tuesday with my regular post. Until then, happy crafting.
